Exams were done, summer was coming, and that also meant summer camp was coming up.june 25th 2023; awaiting interaction with @Linda Ramirez
Alyssea didn't know what to expect for summer samp aside from what the professors told them about it. A month in cabins on the school's campgrounds; there would be activities and summer games happening. She hadn't taken an interest in sports throughout the year, so this might be her chance to see what it was all about.
Some days, Alyssea thought about talking to a professor and pulling out of the event, but that would mean missing out on her first summer camp experience at Hogwarts. Yes, it would be nice to go home, rest, and see her brother, but some things only happen once. She could always see her brother in August after camp.
But it was a Sunday and school was five days away from finishing.
With little to do and no plans to meet with people, she headed down to the Great Lake for some fresh air. Hufflepuff dorms were nice, the vibrant walls and endless plants, but nothing could beat a breeze by the water's edge. She wasn't looking to have a swim, only to sit and lounge around, enjoying the sun and the weather.
Alyssea arrived, book in hand, and sat down by a big tree, the leaves shading her from the scorching sun.

Linda didn't have any plans for this day. It was so close to the time she would go home. Li knew she doesn't stay for camp. And she wasn't sad about it. Deciding that she doesn't want to stay inside the castle, Linda went outside.
It was quite nice day and she was wearing a dress. Heels were her usual choice as well as ring and necklace. Linda didn't really notice how she came to great lake, but here she was. Li looked around and noticed familiar girl who seemed to be with book.
Coming closer she saw it was Alyssea. Hey, what are you reading? It seemed to be really fascinating: the way they started to meet. Or maybe just now she was more focused as they were like friends.
Anyway, it felt awesome. It's last days of first year in Hogwarts before holidays. What a great time to spend it with more friends. I can't believe first year already finished and it's summer. I guess I will miss a lot of friends, but now from Hogwarts. Even though it's just two months. Linda laughed. How dramatic she sounded. It was just two months with her meeting her two besties during August. But she knew she will miss other friends as well. I'm not staying for camp, I have already so much planned. What about you?

Since her free time opened up significantly, Alyssea picked up reading again. The last time she'd properly read a book it may have been last year in... November? When Alyssea ran into the Ravenclaw boy in the corridor. And even that book wasn't one for enjoyment; it was a book by Bathilda Bagshot, the same historian who wrote many of the school's history textbooks. While it was still a relaxing read, most of her thoughts were preoccupied with learning the content thoroughly to use in essays.june 25th 2023; interacting with @Linda Ramirez
"Hey, what are you reading?"
When she heard the voice, she put her hand between the pages she'd just read and closed the book over top of it. Looking up, she was glad to see someone she knew. "Hi Linda. It's Insurgent. A Muggle book." Alyssea picked up the book, still keeping her hand between the pages, and showed her the green cover with a tree in a circle. "I'd been meaning to read it since I came back from Christmas break."
As Linda talked about the inevitable end to their first year, Alyssea smiled. Was it already the end so quickly? She could still remember the Sorting Ceremony, the first night she spent in her dorm, the first ever class she did. How was it already the end?
Alyssea chuckled. "I'll still be seeing people for another month. I'm staying for summer camp. Thought it might be fun, so I joined."
When Linda said she wasn't staying, Alyssea tilted her head. "What've you got planned?"

Oh it sounds interesting. I should definitely try to read some muggle books. Linda mused. It will definitely be priceless experience to read something entirely new.
You are staying? That's cool. Wish you have fun. Li smiled and thought about it for a second. Maybe she would stay too next year, she didn't know yet.
This summer is going to be really eventful. I'm going to dye my hair. I also suppose there will be balls as usual. But the best part is going to be closer to August. Somewhere in July my brother and I will go to Switzerland and probably buy a mansion for vacation. Somewhere in mountains most likely. In August, I meet my best friends. One is coming over for a week. But another one is spending with me almost whole month. We meet at her mansion for a week, then go to Greece and then to my mansion. After all that we are coming back to Hogwarts together.
That was really incredible time that was waiting to come. Taking a breath Linda realized she spoke a lot. Well, that was still fine. She just was really excited for coming months that she couldn't contain the happiness she felt about it. What do you plan except for staying for camp?

Alyssea nodded. She quite liked the first book in the Divergent series. But with any required reading at school comes demotivation for personal reading; her history texts consumed her more than this book. At least, now, the workload had lightened up and she could enjoy it without the impending doom of exams.june 25th 2023; interacting with @Linda Ramirez
As she listened to Linda's overview of her summer, Alyssea's jaw could not stop dropping to the ground. She had to put down her book to process it all. Dyeing her hair? Staying in mansions in various countries? God, it all sounded amazing. When the question was directed back at her, all she could feel was shy. What was her summer going to be like after summer camp?
"I..." Alyssea began, "After summer camp, I'm probably going to hang out with my brother. I don't think we have anything planned yet." It sounded bland compared to Linda's vacation. "Your vacation sounds amazing, though! What colour are you dyeing your hair?"
Alyssea took a moment to look at her own hair. It had a few highlights from when she dyed it as a child but nothing crazy. Just a few lighter strands here and there. Dyeing my hair might be fun, she thought, but then came thoughts about maintenance. What would she do once her roots started to grow out? Hair dye didn't exactly have the best shelf life; she saw how her mother slowly stopped dyeing her hair and stayed with the silver colour.
Still, Linda dyeing her hair would be exciting to see when they got back from the summer break.

Sounds nice. I heard students from other schools will attend summer camp as well. Maybe you could meet more people. Linda smiled enthusiastically. It would be awesome to meet new friends from different places. At least, in her opinion.
It's going to be red. Do you know about those paintings for hair that are changing color temporary? I don't want to change it for forever yet, so it's going to be one of those. Linda smiled, dreaming about how it will be. That should be really awesome to try it.
You know, it would be nice to spend more time with you since next year. We could get to know each other more and maybe travel somewhere during the break. What do you think about it?
