The first little bit of my time at Hogwarts had been great already. I had been sorted into Ravenclaw, the house I had really wanted, met two ish new friends, became dorm partners with them, and just overall really enjoying school! I decided to take a walk inside the school today. I had done so many times outside on the grounds, which was very nice, but never inside. It might be cool, to explore a bit, the castle was magical after all. I left my dorm and went to the owlery first, it was the only other place located in the West Tower. It was honestly quite cold, I notice that the windows in the circular stone made walls were empty, they had no glass. Because if this, I quickly moved on, my next destination was the ballroom on the fourth floor, it seemed like it would be a cool place. After I had arrived, I stayed for just a few minutes examining it before deciding that I needed to go to the washroom now. I went over to the lavatory’s, which luckily were on the same floor I was. There were a bunch of of people in there already, I frowned, where else were their toilets? Maybe the abandoned toilets I thought, no body else would be there. I ran down to the second floor to the abandoned toilets as fast as I could. Once I got there, I went to a stall and then washed my hands. It was only then that I noticed a loose tile in the floor. I dried off my hands and then walked over to it. Carefully, I pried it out, a diary lay inside. I gasped at my finding, I never woudve expected that to happen in a bathroom. I opened the diary and read what was on the first page, it seemed that only two were full, it said:
__You, who found this diary. These pages can be used to write to someone. It's known for bringing new friendships. There's no evil enchantment on it, so you can use it safely. However, I'll ask you to keep it here to let others use it too. Have fun.

After that, I read the next page, I’m guessing that someone found the tile just like me. On this page, it read:

Dear reader,

___Hi, most likely you found this diary just like I did today. I find it great opportunity to try to make new friends, so I'm going to write here something and later come back to check if someone replied.

___I am in second year and I like nature, animals and wizarding photography. I also like mysteries, what about you?

___I have two besties from different houses and some friends everywhere. But I still hope to find new connections as well. Anyway I'll go now, wish you nice day.
I smiled, this seemed cool, and good way to make friends and meet others. I grabbed a quill and ink out of a pocket in my robe and starting writing my reply.

Dear Reader, and hopefully writer of the previous massage,
If you found this diary by noticing an off tile in the floor, then yes we both found it the same way! I love the idea of it, it’s really cool, and yeah, a great way to make friends. I’ll come back later and check too.
That’s cool, we’re almost the same age, I’m eleven, so, I’m my first year. How was Hogwarts in your first year? I like animals, physical activity, and school. What’s your favorite magical subject? Mine has got to be flying, it’s so neat!I have two besties as well, but they are both in the same house as me, Ravenclaw. What house are you in, if you would like to share that?
Ok, I guess I’ll go now too, I hope you have a wonderful day as well!

I put my quill down. That should be good I thought. Slowly, I closed the cover of the book and neatly placed it back in the spot in which I found it. After I cleaned up my quill and ink and washed my hands again, I left the lavatory, hoping that someone would reply to my message soon.

I made my way back to the abandoned toilets now. Just yesterday I had written a message to someone, I’m not quite sure who yet, in hopes that they would reply back. I was super excited, I had never done anything like this before! I was practically skipping my way over, I crossed my fingers in hopes that there was a new message in the diary. Once I made it to the abandoned toilets, I pried the loose tile out of the floor and ripped the book out. I opened the diary slowly, and when I went to the newest page, there was a new message! I sighed in relief, I was so happy. Smiling, I read through what the author had written, the message stated this:

Dear Ravenclaw writer,
First of all, I'd like to apologize for not replying yesterday, sadly, I didn't have time to come again.
As for your questions, yes, I found it this way. I'm in Gryffindor. Also my first year was really great. I met some awesome friends and two of them became my besties. Could it be that after some time you would be my new bestie as well? Don't mind this, just a thought I got from reading your lovely reply.
I played guitar and piano, took some photos, but I plan to take more this year. Unfortunately, I remembered about camera in April, so I don't have any photo from before. I also spent quite much in the library, but don't get me wrong, I'm extrovert. And I even studied German, that was really nice year. I'm looking forward to see how this year will go.
My favorite subject, I guess I have more than one. Flying, Astronomy... You know I actually think I like them all, only I didn't really like history, but maybe it will change.
After reading your reply, I feel like we have something in common. Do you have a pet?
I hope you will see this, and I need to go now.

Ok cool I thought. It was time to reply now. I pulled out my ink and quill again, and started writing back to the mystery person.

Hey again! It’s fine about not coming yesterday, I didn’t either. It’s so cool, this whole diary idea i mean. I’m glad your first year treated you well, I hope mine will be the same! Oh sure, I’d love to have another best friend, maybe at some point, someday, we may meet up. Music is so cool, I’ve never actually made any, but I love listening to it, before I came to Hogwarts. I haven’t been able to use any sort of device here, not even a camera, how did you get yours to work? Oh I love reading, and studying, it’s one of my hobbies actually, I love spending time in the library too, maybe we have seen each other before then, we just don’t know it! Yeah I get it, all magical subjects are awesome, I’ve only been to muggle schools, since I’m a half-blood, what about you? I hope and think we have lots in common actually! Sorry for using so many exclamation marks, I’m just super excited right now. Yeah, I have a pet, I just got home yesterday. What about you? I have a pet bunny, I really love him, a lot.
Anyways, I’ve gotta go now, but I’ll come back tomorrow to check for a reply, and no worries if you haven’t yet, talk to you soon!

I dropped my quill down onto the floor. It was sadly time to go now, I wanted to meet this person soon. I hinted at what my name was, I signed ‘D’ at the end of my message. I closed the diary, put it back in its little secret compartment, put the tile back over it, picked up my ink and quill, and left back to my common room.
