What Motivates You?
(Serena Towers & Lilac Evergreen)
It was evening in the Hogwarts castle. The students bustled through the corridors as they made their way back to hang out with friends. Classes had ended for the day and there was still some time before dinner. This corridor was relatively quiet in comparison, however. You could hear the traces of chatter of students from nearby hallways or coming from the grounds outside the open windows. Exhaling softly, Serena gazed out of the window and watched the light reflect on the lake she could see in the distance. Hogwarts was beautiful. The scenery was stunning, no matter what time of day it was. Glancing up to the sky, she noticed that the sun was about to settle soon.
Down below, students hung out in their groups. Friendship circles, if you will. Some people had already formed groups, it seemed. She smiled softly, noticing how happy everyone looked. It was good that people had managed to form friendships so quickly. The past few days had been very busy. She was constantly meeting new people, no matter where she went. Serena also wanted to explore more of the castle and familiarise herself with this new home of hers. It was going to be home to her for the next seven years, after all. These people she met would be friends - or perhaps enemies, or even just strangers - for the next seven years too.
Serena had decided to take some time out to wander around by herself for a while before dinner. Just to get away from the busy lifestyle. She had stumbled upon this corridor and, well, ended up standing around here for a while just gazing outside the window at the mindblowing scenery. Glancing down the corridor, she noticed several boards on the wall. Names and photos covering the boards. Curious, the Hufflepuff walked down the corridor, observing them. They listed various students that had attended the school - such as former winning Quidditch teams. At the end of the corridor, there was an open door that she peeked into. It was full of trophies and awards from the looks of things.
The curious girl pushed open the door and walked into the Trophy Room so she could have a closer look inside.

What Motivates You?
The evening wind chilled her to the bone as she walked through the grand staircase, feeling the need to duck in for some cover the young Gryffindor jogged into the third-floor corridor and leaned against a door. Slowly her body felt the warmth of the torches radiating through her, she let out a small hum of gratitude as she opened the door she leaned against and poked her head in.
Lilac gasped as she looked at the winding corridor, Covered with pictures of past Witches and wizards that had left a mark on the wizarding world. She pushes the door open and wandered in, looking at all the wizards, some of them she knew but most of the others were a complete mystery to her.
The corridor seems like it went on forever as if with every step she took it doubled in size, finally Lilac reached the end with a portrait of a greasy haired wizard greeted her with a scowl. "Scary" she mumbled looking at the painting before opening the heavy door, pushing as hard as she could.
As the door collided with the brick wall she opened her eyes in glee, her eyes scanning the whole room. Lilac closed the door as she stepped inside and stared at the glass cases near the front.

What Motivates You?
Serena slowly walked through the room, observing various trophy cabinets. There were cups and awards given for everything here. House cups throughout the years, tracing back throughout the decades... Quidditch team plates for the winning teams that were far older than her. Everywhere she looked, there were tons of things to see. Each of these awards honoured an important event in history. They were honouring someone's memory. She looked around, wondering how many of these people knew they wanted to leave a mark in Hogwarts in this way. Some of them probably happened by chance or through sheer luck. However, Serena had a feeling that a lot of these represented peoples' hard work, ambitions and goals in life.
Reaching out slowly, her fingertips touched the glass around one of the trophies. She leaned a little closer, trying to read who it was for and what it was awarded for. The trophy itself was beautiful. A silver coloured award that gleamed like it had just been polished. It was a tall, thin cup that had intricate detailing over it. Sighly softly as she realised that she didn't actually recognise the name engraved onto the trophy. Then again she didn't know the names on most of the trophies - perhaps it was a sign that she needed to do some reading and study. Some of these people could be famous, for all she knew!
"I wonder what it was awarded for..." She said softly, thinking out aloud. It appeared that it lacked a description as to why they won the trophy - or perhaps it was engraved underneath or behind the trophy. Unfortunately, she couldn't see it as it was in a sealed glass box. Shrugging softly, she straightened her posture. Upon doing so, her eyes caught a glimpse of another figure in the room. A soft gasp echoed in the room as she jumped slightly and turned to face the person. It was another girl, a student by the looks of it, "Oh! Sorry, I didn't realise you were standing there." Serena apologised, though she didn't really have a reason to. Did it even matter if she knew the other girl was there and still ignored her? No, not really. However, she had the terrible of habit of apologising even without any fault of her own. Ah well! She had no idea how long the girl had been there but she had just noticed her.
