Schoolwork, studying, and maintaining focus on a subject for an extended period of time... as far as he knew, Allen struggled with all of these things. Back at home, his strict mother ensured that he devoted enough time to his studies to avoid failing his exams, and the subjects in his homeschooling curriculum were considerably easier to follow compared to the classes at Hogwarts.
While today's lesson likely held some intriguing contents, the Hufflepuff found it exceptionally challenging to sustain his concentration for more than ten seconds. For many students, such difficulties might lead to their attention wandering to something else or even experiencing hyperactivity. However, in Allen's case, it was quite the opposite. He had already grown drowsy due to not getting a good night's sleep, and now he found himself struggling to keep his eyes open.
I should probably ask Winona for some potion to help me fall asleep... he thought, but quickly dismissed the idea. His cruel sister would undoubtedly take this chance to trick him into drinking a potion with horrible effects instead.
As the class pressed on, Allen's sleepiness continued to intensify, and it felt as if his head had become too heavy to maintain an upright posture. Halfway through the lecture, he eventually succumbed to his impulses, resting his arms on the table before him and resting his head upon them. His intention was to rest for just a couple of minutes before continuing to listen to the lecture, but it took mere seconds for him to fall into such a deep slumber that not even the noises of students leaving at the end of class could wake him.

HISTORY OF MAGIC WAS NOT the most entertaining lesson, yes, but Juliet tried her best to pay attention. She made sure nothing got her attention for too long - eyes glued to the professor as they walked around the room, explaining today's topic with visible enthusiasm.

She wished she could be as enthusiastic this early in the morning. It was a load of information to process at once, and that crushed her mood a little. The Gryffindor took notes of what the professor said, making sure her handwriting was as readable as possible, careful not to squeeze her quill that hard - still traumatized from her first day of classes.

Midway through the lesson, as Juliet reached for her bag, needing another roll of parchment, her dark eyes landed on the sleeping figure next to him. Oh... Juliet looked around, biting down her bottom lip - to check if the professor was close to them. The boy's face was covered behind messy black locks, shielding his features from her curious eyes.

Waking him up would be rude... but he couldn't take naps during lessons. It'd be bad for him. When he woke up, he'd realize he missed a lot of important things - and wouldn't be able to finish his homework. Hell, he wouldn't even know there was homework in the first place.

Juliet furrowed her eyebrows and looked back to her roll of parchment. The professor gave them a small break, moving back to their desk. It gave her plenty of time to act. The girl copied everything she wrote down - every small comment, every important detail... quill carefully dancing over the parchment. She pressed her cheek against her arm, in a terrible position for her back that Mum always complained about. It didn't matter.

At the end of class, Juliet watched the students collect their belongings and make their way out. She carefully put the separate parchments inside the boy's bag, grabbed her backpack, and left - as fast as possible, not looking over her shoulder.

The brief nap, which felt like only a few minutes at most, had apparently stretched beyond the entire class. Allen might have managed to stay asleep if not for the subtle sound of parchments brushing against each other.
In a state of not understanding if he was awake or still dreaming, the drowsy Hufflepuff struggled to make sense of the noise, which, though faint, drew near for a brief moment.
His eyes widened with curiousity when he sensed the presence of another person. All he could glimpse through the pieces of his messy hair obscuring his view was a hand reaching into his bag. Everything inside seemed undisturbed, except for an extra roll of parchment.
Eventually, Allen managed to get up with slow movements, even letting out a little yawn. However, when he tried to catch a glimpse of the person responsible for the mysterious parchment, all he saw was her retreating figure.
His curiosity about the parchment's contents gnawed at him. Could it be a love confession? An invitation to some clandestine club, perhaps? Or, just maybe, had someone found out about his secret and intended to use it for blackmail?
Well, he could read it at his leisure later. For now, the best course of action appeared to be attempting to catch a glimpse of the girl's face. "Hey, wait-" he called out, though he was too shy to raise his voice. Allen swiftly grabbed his bag and walked towards the door of the classroom.
