Elena had left her last compartment because the weird kid had just stopped talking and she had been a bit creeped out, so she found another luckily empty compartment. This one had a nice amount of light, and was relatively quiet, so Elena pulled a travel guide out of her bag and started to read about Santorini, she hoped to visit one day, and dreamed of living in a place like that.

One day, maybe she’d be able to get there. She certainly hoped she could, maybe once all of this was over, and she had a friends, real friends. Someone that could maybe be a parent, or at least try to take care of her, that was about all she wished right then. To have a good life.

She started singing to herself again, something different from before. Elena had heard it in the library once, a kid a bit older than her had shown her their music library, even let her listen to a few on repeat, which was nice.

“The mystery of it I recall, suddenly the truth will change the way we fall. Didn’t want to hurt you, hope you know. Empty promises, shattered dreams of love...

Min-seo hugged her Godfather.
"See you at Christmas, Uncle Jin!"
That's what she called him, even though he wasn't her uncle. He kissed her forehead.
"Be good. I'll miss you so much. And Ji-woo, take care of her," he said to her brother.
Ji-woo saluted. "Yes Uncle Jin!"
She laughed as she boarded the train. They waved goodbye. Ji-woo smiled at her. Ji-woo's friends came over and started dragging him with them. They quickly said hi to her and gave her hugs (they came over a lot).
"I'm going to go with my friends. Go find some! People are very nice here!"
And with that, he walked off. They waved to her. She smiled and waved back. She sighed. She was very shy, so this would be difficult. She decided to look for an empty compartment, but they were all full. Her hair swished back and forth, and delicate hands were clasped together. Where to go where to go......she did not know. She started to get more panicked. She closed her almond eyes and took a deep breath. She kept on looking. She came in front of a compartment with a girl with electric blue hair who was singing. May as well. She had nothing to lose.
"E-excuse me, may I sit here? Everywhere else if full." She said quietly.

Elena had just finished looking at a photograph of a little farmers market when a voice shocked her out of her reading. She blinked a couple of times as the newcomer came into focus.

It was a girl with dark brown hair and eyes. She looked a little shy and a little scared, which was a lot better than the first kid that showed up. Elena decided that she should get the benefit of the doubt. Lightning isn’t meant to strike twice, or however the saying goes, it’s probably doesn’t strike twice but lightning does like to strike multiple times in the same place.

“Oh! Uh, of course. Come on in! I’m Elena, Elena Jones, it’s nice to meet you.” She have a slightly crooked smile to the other girl, “Take a seat anywhere I guess. I’ll just, move this.”

Elena shuffled her backpack onto the floor and put her book away, the girl seemed like she might be good company, so talking was probably a good idea.

“I get what you mean, it took forever to find an empty compartment, I’ve been getting a little lonely here. Books are good company but only for so long.” Elena shrugged, ”So, what’s your name?”

The girl looked at her and Min-seo tensed a bit, scared of what she'd say. What if she said no? Where would she go? People already seemed to be in groups, she couldn't possibly just join one. When she said of course, she relaxed. Why is she always so paranoid? She thinks too much, my gosh. She placed her trunk up at the top above her, trying not to take much space. She sat across from her, sitting with her legs crossed and her hands clasped together on her lap, slightly elegant. "It's nice to meet you, Elena. Thank you for letting me sit here. Sorry if I'm being a bother," she said quietly with a small smile on her face. Elena seemed very nice, she had tan skin and electric blue hair and eyes. She didn't know if she was shy or not, but maybe a little introverted? She didn't know. Min-seo nodded.
"I did look everywhere, most of them had three or more people. I didn't really know where to go, in all honesty." she said. She brought her hair in front, trying not to get it tangled.
"Oh! My name is Min-seo, Kim Min-seo, or Min-seo Kim here." she said with a smile.

“It’s okay, you’re not being a bother at all, I saw the full compartments, looks like everyone is pretty happy with their own little groups. It’s a bit odd that they managed to make so many friends that quickly. Maybe they already knew each other or something, I guess it would make more sense then.” Elena fiddled with the edge of the robes they’d been told to buy, they were a little itchy but Elena was sure she’d be fine, “It’s nice to meet you Min-seo Kim.”

Elena carefully matched Min-seo’s pronunciation, one of the things she was a bit good at was mimicking people, which is why she didn’t have the accent that most of the people around her did, instead it sounded accentless with a little bit of high London overlaid onto it. It made people a little bit more accepting when you didn’t sound like you were going to steal their things.

Elena wasn’t really sure what to say to the girl now, she could talk about what she’d read or books or anything but for some reason she drew a mental blank, so instead she just said the first thing to come to mind, “You have nice eyes.”

She gave a big smile. "Yeah, it does seem like everyone knows each other. I barely know anyone, to be honest." She looked out the window as the train was moving. She saw the countryside and she smiled. She'd never been outside of cities, really. It was beautiful and it seemed very clean. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes a bit then opened them. “It’s nice to meet you, Min-seo Kim.” Elena said. Min-seo smiled. "It's nice to meet you too, Elena Jones." She was surprised that Elena got the pronunciation right. Usually, when she meets new people, they butcher her name, like saying, "Min-see-oh" or something like that. She did love the accent that Elena had, it wasn't very British at all, which she was getting used to. She smiled.
“You have nice eyes.” Elena said. She jumped a little, startled. She didn't expect that. She blushed from the jumping incident, a little embarrassed. She thought about her eyes. They were dark brown with specks of gold in them, she didn't think that they were that special, but maybe they are, or maybe she was overthinking things again.
"T-thanks. Yours are too." she said with a smile.

Well Elena’s inexperience with talking to new people luckily hadn’t meant complete failiure, the girl had blushed but she had seemed happy with the compliment. She’d beamed when Min-seo smiled at her, she assumed that meant her pronunciation mimicking had worked again, it was awesome to use her skills to make someone happy instead of to hurt someone. She was still working on a plan to get away from the people that she only could call her “friends”, the name she wanted to give them had too many swear words for polite company, and she didn’t think the staff actually cared. If they knew she was homeless and able to send an owl to ‘Elena Jones, On The Streets of London’, then they probably should’ve figured out and saved her earlier. At least that’s what she thought, maybe someone on the staff would be different.

Elena almost blushed when Min-seo complimented her in return, “So, um, where do you come from Min-seo? I’ve never heard anything like your accent before, granted I’ve only really heard London, Australian, American, and a bit of African before, perks of being a street kid. Well, weaknesses I guess, but still. It’s interesting and I like it.”

She looked out the window still, her elbows propped up on the ledge, and her head on top of them, resting. Her eyes looked out the window, sparkling, the gold becoming more prominent. She turned to Elena, a smile on her face. "Are we allowed to open the window thing?" she asked. She just wanted to stick her head out and feel the wind on her face. She started to hum a song, she wasn't sure what it was, but she liked the tune of it. Hopefully, she had a new friend. She didn't really have any before when her mother sent her to muggle school just to see the atmosphere, even though she was a pureblood (not that she cared, it's just blood). She was bullied for being, well, different. It was their fault her parents and sister died, but she thought it was hers. “So, um, where do you come from Min-seo? I’ve never heard anything like your accent before, granted I’ve only really heard London, Australian, American, and a bit of African before, perks of being a street kid. Well, weaknesses I guess, but still. It’s interesting and I like it.” Min-seo turned to Elena when she said that. She smiled. "South Korea. I moved to London when I was 7, because of......nevermind. What about you?" she said.

Elena prodded the window, trying to avoid answering the second question, she would drop hints into conversations but saying it blatantly made it feel like her fate was sealed, so she procrastinated by trying to open the window. She managed to drag open a slider window a little further up, “There we go! The windows haven’t really been opened much and they’re a bit high, but it looks like we can open them.”

The grins Elena wore like battle armour wouldn’t work for this, and for once she could almost feel her bluster dropping, she realised she hadn’t even called herself Puck, “London, nowhere in particular I guess, I’ve been here, there, and everywhere. I um, never really had a home, spent a lot of time in trees and on rooftops, I made it here though. So that’s good I guess.”

The blue haired girl hunched over a bit in her hoodie, resisting the urge to disappear into it, Min-seo seemed like she was wealthy, or at least used to wealth. She hoped that didn’t mean the only person she didn’t hate talking to so far would see her differently, leave that to the things Elena had done on purpose, or just never talk about that time at all.

She smiled, finally feeling the wind. She stuck her hand out, feeling the air with a soft smile on her porcelain face and full pink lips. "Thank you. I just wanted to feel the air. I've never seen the country before." she said softly. Elena answered her question from earlier.
“London, nowhere in particular I guess, I’ve been here, there, and everywhere. I um, never really had a home, spent a lot of time in trees and on rooftops, I made it here though. So that’s good I guess.”
Min-seo nodded, a little sad. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you were okay out there. I'm glad you made it, if you didn't I wouldn't have been able to meet you." she said quietly, a small smile on her face. She understood what it was like, it was very hard. Her Godfather was very rich, but she used to have a friend that was homeless. She'd walk home from muggle school (her mother wanted her to try it to see what it was like) and see him, usually in different places at a time. Then, her parents died and she moved. She wondered how he was now. She looked out the window again.
