Little Historians Meeting
For a Second Year, running a club was not on her 2023-2024 bingo card. She'd gone around signing up for clubs but never expected herself to actually run one. What exactly were they supposed to do at club meetings? It's not like the club was about any specific activity, so honestly? Her options were limited.september 13th 2023; waiting for club members
Maybe she'd get some ideas about fun things the club could do eventually. For now, maybe introducing herself to the members and meeting everyone was a good start.
Alyssea was a bit wary about bringing snacks. After all, the break between the last class of the day and dinner wasn't that long; they could handle half an hour without food. Besides, she didn't have very many snacks on hand and she never asked Professor Lennox about that. That would be going on her list of things to do.
She sat by her normal seat in class: by the far end in the middle row. Looking down at the paper, she was relieved to see her history buddy. The rest? Most of them were First Years and so this would be the first time Alyssea would meet them. Aside from Sylvia. They'd already met.
With a sigh, she stared at the door. She hoped they would arrive soon.

Little Historians Meeting
“Little Historians Meeting” - 13th September 2023 - Interacting with @Alyssea Brown
Excited wasn’t the right word to describe Damian’s mood regarding the first meeting of the History of Magic club. For sure he was happy to have joined it and to finally start doing some activities, surely the idea of meeting new people who also liked the subject and weren’t constantly complaining about how boring it was to study it was delightful. He hoped they weren’t going to fall under small talk, running out of ideas on what to do ten minutes after the beginning of the meeting.
He was perfectly on time, maybe even slightly early, typical of him. As usual, he was impeccable: not a hair out of place, clothes perfectly ironed and a secure and sharp walking in the direction of the room where the meeting was about to take place. He couldn’t care less if he didn’t know any of the members: he was there exactly for that reason, to meet new people with the same interest.
He opened the door of the classroom, scanning the surroundings to check who was already there. At first, he didn’t notice anyone. “Am I the first one to arrive?” he asked himself loudly, noticing just a moment later that someone was in fact there. “Oh. Hi.” he added, moving some steps towards the only seat taken.
“I’m sure the others will come soon.” he commented confidently, and joined the girl’s staring at the door.

As per usual, Landon was running a little behind where he wanted to be. He always wanted to be early, but his disorganization tended to make him later than planned. He was rarely actually late, but he still felt bad not being as early as he aimed to be. Landon gathered the book he was currently re-reading, a different magical history book than the one they were studying in classes. He had already read all of Hogwarts: A History multiple times at this point and he had gone looking for other sources at the library. Landon also grabbed a notebook and a pen. He wasn't Muggleborn, but he still really liked using Muggle supplies to take notes. He never did quite get the hang of using a quill.
Landon quickly walked into the classroom where the club meeting was being held. He offered Alyssea a smile. They had become somewhat close as they sat together in History of Magic club, but Landon was still a bit of a quiet person so he didn't call out loudly across the room. He looked at her and took a seat next to her. Like Alyssea, it seemed he was a creature of habit and tended to sit in the same spots in each classroom. He set his things on the desk and then turned to the other person in the room. "Hello, I'm Landon," he said and extended a hand toward the younger person. He was a lot less shy when it came to talking to guys or when he knew someone well. He then turned to Alyssea. "Congrats on being the leader of the club," he said with a genuine smile. He didn't think he could ever lead a club. He was too disorganized.

Now she was almost regretting not bringing snacks. Alyssea wasn't the type to nibble on something when nervous, but this might just be when it starts. It would've also been a warm welcoming gift to everyone, but whatever. It was something she could definitely do for the next club meeting. If there was gonna be one.september 13th 2023; waiting for club members
Soon enough, the door opened. She got up from her seat and gave him a small nod. "Hey! Thank you for coming," she said. Truly, she was relieved that someone decided to show up. She was beginning to think all she had were a list of names of ghosts. Well, except for Landon and Sylvia, of course. She'd met them before.
The boy reassured her that people would arrive, to which Alyssea responded, "I really hope so. It would be a bit sad if it was just us two."
And speak of the devil because another person walked in. This time, Alyssea knew who they were. She got up to greet him with a little wave. "I am so glad you're here."
He sat by her, another habit they had picked up from classes together in First Year. She was glad they weren't strangers, at least.
He introduced himself to the other boy and Alyssea quickly followed suit. "Right, yes, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Alyssea Brown. It's nice to meet you." She gave the boy another smile. "What's your name?"
She then turned to Landon. "Thank you," she responded, "I'm a bit nervous about doing all this. I hope it turns out well."

Landon smiled as Alyssea thanked him for coming to the meeting. As if Landon would ever miss a meeting for something related to history if he could help it. He was obsessed with history and he really wanted to make new friends that also found it as fascinating as he did. Landon had always been obsessed with it, even as a young child, and now he was able to learn from an actual professor instead of pretty much learning it all on his own. His mum had taught him what she could, but Landon learned most about history from the books he read. He was always searching for more knowledge.
"I love history, of course I would be here," he said to Alyssea, smiling fondly. He really cared for his friend, in a platonic sort of way. Landon never really had crushes on people. Landon settled into the seat next to her, even though there was plenty of space in the room to sit elsewhere. He was just so used to sitting next to Alyssea in this classroom. "You'll do great, Alyssea," he said with a smile. He knew his friend was much more bold and likely to be a leader than he was.
Landon looked up when another girl entered the classroom. He smiled at her shyly but then realized she was carrying something, which she soon revealed to be cake. "Oh nice, I was hoping there would be snacks," he said. Landon couldn't cook or bake so he couldn't really bring treats, and his mum and dad weren't really big on snacks either, so he wouldn't really have anything to bring to the meetings himself. He was grateful for the treats.

Little Historians Meeting
Chad after his first week at the school struggled to keep up with everything happening around him, from classes to meeting his fellow peers whom he’d be spending the next few years together with. Hogwarts was truely a drastic change from the homeschooling he was used to back in the muggle world. This pressure led up to him completely forgetting he had committed to joining the Little Historians Club! Rushing from his dormitories with a plate of dragon shaped cookies (made with his mothers recipe) he bolted down the corridors (and respectfully slowed down around the Slytherin prefect coming down the opposite end of one of the corridors).
Finally, showing up 30 minutes after the scheduled time and severely exhausted, Chad finally enters the classroom. He saw everyone who were talking amongst themselves stop talking to look up to see who was at the door at such a time.
“Sorry everyone, I completely forgot about todays meeting so apologies for the lateness,” Chad exclaimed. “I’ve brought some cookies if anyone’s still hungry.”
Chad, embarrassed, shyly claimed a spot in the middle of the classroom, he made sure to bring his journal of the magical history he studied at home incase the others in the room wanted to know what knowledge he’d contribute to the club.
Despite the shortcoming of embarrassing himself, he’d spend the rest of the session introducing himself to the others whom already seemed aquatinted with each other, but nevertheless welcomed him in. Chad was happy from their hospitality and was excited to be amidst a crowd of lovely people.
