Saving David Beckham

Trying to behave for @AngelFyre McCubbin
"They are quite attractive," he teased with a straight face and in a manner of sincerity - all for three seconds tops before that wide smile moved across his face and his rouse was up.
Simon moved some things around on his plate with his fork, playing almost the equivalent of musical chairs with it, shuffling it all one spot over before realizing he was just playing with it and not eating it. To keep up a standard of 'normal' there with her muggle family and friends, he took a forkful of noodles and brought it to his mouth, filling it with a dry blandness which was just preparing him for the worst part - that juiciness that was watermelon; beloved to most but not to him. He finished the bite of the noodles before placing a cut up piece of watermelon onto his fork.
He lifted it to AngelFyre, as if showing off 'look what I can do' before bringing the bite to his mouth and sliding it off of the fork. Oy was it sweet. If one liked watermelon, surely this particular one was quite delicious. The things one did for love.....
"I'm going to leave you all to your meal while I sneak a moment with Grandma Ruth," he squeezed her hand three times with her hand that had been holding his and then brought it up to his lips to kiss the back of it slowly, his eyes watching hers the entire time like he didn't really want to let her go - and he didn't. If he had his way, he'd find a way to forever entwine his always with her. Simon got up, bringing his plate with him and made his way to the other side of the barn. It was his escape for the meal, as he couldn't stomach any more sweetness but he did remain true to his word. He found Grandma Ruth and asked if she'd like to dance, as the music had still continued to play since he first arrived - and probably had been long before.
But Grandma Ruth didn't want to do any sort of tango or foxtrot, no twist, hand jive or jitterbug, nope, not even the good old classic lawn sprinkler - she wanted to do some dancing that was applicable to the music. Simon wasn't quite sure if this would be considered square dancing or line dancing or perhaps neither, but it went along to the country music that could be heard throughout the barn.
She called out the movements as they went and it appeared he was learning how to kick, brush, scoot, weave, and grapevine. He was a fast learner and soon he was keeping up with Grandma Ruth to a pretty even tempo. This could be a good head-start if AngelFyre decided she wanted to have a go later on. Plus, Grandma Ruth was enjoying herself and Simon was as well. He even bowed to thank her at the end of the song, tipping his imaginary hat to her as well.
He went to the gift table and retrieved the box he had brought for AngelFyre and returned to her. "Open it," he said to her; not really caring if now was the right time or not. He wasn't entirely sure how long they would be staying and just in case Mark or Aunt Maggie approached him saying it was time to head out, he wanted to see her open his present.
He had given her necklaces before - the love locket bought at Madam Puddifoot's and the unicorn one at Christmastime that would foreshadow their unicorn encounter in Hogsmeade Village. This time it was golden heart charm that when opened just so would resemble slightly a four-leaf clover but also was a locket which held four photographs of the two of them together - one was them just close to one another when she visited in London, one was of them snogging at Hogwarts, a close-up of them, and another of them looking out at the lake at that very property of her home in Stenton.
"I love how it feels to be loved by you and those are just but brief moments of our story, captured in time. There have been countless more and there will be countless more to follow. I'm ever so thankful for you, AngelFyre. Happiest of Birthdays, my love."
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

Her cup runneth over, @Simon Kincaid
AngelFyre chuckled when Simon made her aware of his sacrificial victory over the detestable bite of watermelon. It was just the type of little thing that would in no way mean anything to anyone else sitting around them, but she could feel herself tingle knowing that they now had a history together that was long enough to support inside jokes without a word needing to be said to the other.
Oh how she loved being in love with that boy!
She was not surprised after being aware that he had largely just pushed his food around his plate that he got up to leave. She knew he was so focused on trying to appear "normal" that he probably was unaware, or mostly so, of the brooding and concern taking place across the table from him. It was likely just as well. She knew Simon to be an incredibly loving, patient person, but there was a wall he had put up on day one of meeting Kendric and it did not seem to be coming down anytime soon. He was on his very best behavior, but he was weary of it, and she could not blame him for wanting to seek friendlier environs. She also knew everything he was doing, and not doing, and saying, and not saying, was for her benefit. No one, least of all AngelFyre, could fault him for his effort or his restraint.
When he raised her hand to his lips and locked his gaze with hers before leaving, AngelFyre forgot that Ainz and Kendric were sitting right there. It would not have changed a thing even if she had remembered because she knew it was not an act of meanness on Simon's part. Anyone who knew them knew this is who they were, and frankly, with maybe the exception of her father... and even then it was only sometimes... they cared little about hiding their affection for one another. The two had not seen each other for a few days and the fact that they had not already run off together to be alone was a measure of tremendous self-restraint on both their parts.
As she watched him walk away and towards Grandma Ruth, she could not help smiling. Her enjoyment of such a view was interrupted by Kendric. "You are really gone over him, aren't you? I mean, I guess I knew that, but - well, I guess it would be more accurate to say you're both gone over each other, yeah?" And by the time he got to the end of his question, his tone had changed and softened to the point that it sounded more like a statement than a question. He was focused on her but there was no blame or self-pity or anger present in his tone or manner. Everything about Kendric in that moment screamed of a boy in the gentle throes of honest resignation.
AngelFyre tried to scrutinize what was going on with Kendric and she thought he looked like he had when he had come down with pneumonia in the middle of his futbol season and found out he would be missing many more games than he originally had been told, effectively ending his season altogether. He did not like it, but he knew there was nothing he could do about it, so he just sort of absorbed the information and learned to move on from the disappointment. He looked a lot right now like he did then.
She cast a glance to Ainz whose eyes were also fixed on AngelFyre, but she had a little smile softening her face. Ainz cocked her head slightly in Kendric's direction and simply nodded at AngelFyre encouragingly. They had spoken about this many times, and the two had come to the consensus that hard as it may be for him, Kendric was just going to have to learn to deal with AngelFyre's choice. Treating him with kid gloves would do him no favors in the long run.
Turning back to Kendric, she smiled at him and nodded. "Aye, we are. We really are." She stopped and wanted to reach across to take hold of his hand, but she honestly did not know how that would be received, so she sat still. He was looking at her, as if expecting more, so she continued. "Simon is very good to me, Kendric, and he is good for me as well. I am not certain if hearing such a thing makes any of this harder or easier for you, but it is the truth. My fondest earthly wish for you," and she turned to look at Ainsley for a few seconds, "and for you, too, Ainz, is that you both find someone one day who makes you as happy as he does me. That British boy is my absolute everything with an expiration date of forever and always," and she turned to find Simon, waving to him when she saw him doing some fabulous line dancing with Grandma Ruth. When she looked back to her two friends, she decided to throw caution to the wind and reached across the table for both of their hands "And for the record, I pray now, as I always have, that we three amigos have the same expiration date."
Her eyes were glistening, she could feel the moisture in them, but they were not spilling over. Not surprisingly, Ainz was the first to reach out and take one of her hands. AngelFyre smiled and squeezed it and noticed that Ainz had also put her other hand out to Kendric as well. His eyes briefly unlocked from AngelFyre's as he watched Ainsley take hold of her hand. Still looking down, he turned slightly and studied Ainz's hand before looking back up at AngelFyre. After taking a deep breath and slowly nodding his head, he reached for both hands and proclaimed with more energy than AngelFyre would have anticipated coming from him in that moment, "Here is to the three amigos! Long live our friendship!"
****************
"Have you some cowboy in you, Simon, that we haven't been made aware of?" Grandma Ruth asked appreciatively as they danced shoulder to shoulder before clapping their hands and turning to their right. Simon was now looking at her back and did not answer, but she could hear him chuckle which made her chuckle, too. "Coming from me, that is a compliment. I promise." When the music ended and the tempo matched that of a more intimate, couples' dance, Simon bowed and tipped an imaginary hat to her and she snorted her delight. Before he could run off, she bade him follow her to the refreshment table.
Reaching for a pig snout cup which made her laugh, she filled it with hard lemonade and and watched as he filled a glass with some water. She linked her arm through his and instead of turning and heading back to the party, she turned the opposite direction and walked with him away from people. They came upon a couple of hay bales, covered in quilts, and he gingerly held onto her as she plopped down a little harder than she intended, wincing a bit. Brushing his concern aside with a wide smile and a sweep of her hand, she patted the place next to her, waiting for him to sit. She leaned in towards him and spoke in a somewhat conspiratorial whisper.
"I am glad you are here today, for a number of reasons, though I am sorry that poor David Hasselhoff is having a hard time of it," and she winked at him. "I thought long and hard about what you asked of me when we were in Austria, and I have something I would like you to take back to London when you leave. It may surprise you since you said you wanted something to give to her from me on your wedding day," and she reached over and placed her hand in his, gently squeezing it, "but I have made plans for Annene to handle some of the more awkward moments that may arise from my choice." Simon looked a little confused, but Grandma Ruth continued.
"I am leaving my cathedral wedding veil with you to present to AngelFyre. She has loved that veil her whole life, but I have embroidered the trim in varying shades of white with emblems and words and dates and places and flowers and bible verses and dragonflies that are special to the two of you. The dragonfly is a wink to her, and to you, too, I suppose, from me. I just love them and she knows it, so there is meaning there. She may or may not choose to wear it, and it will be fine if she does not, but I strongly suspect she will. "
"The only hitch to this, and be honest if it is one for you, is how strict the two of you think you will be about the tradition of the groom not seeing his bride before the ceremony? I struggled with whether this would be in the true spirit of what you asked of me, but my dear boy, deep in my heart, I believe I could give her nothing she would love more than this, other than my actual presence on your special day. That it should be presented to her by you, from me, will be the perfect touch if I know our girl."
Grandma Ruth squeezed his hand again and turned her head away as her eyes began to brim with tears. Simon covered her hand with his free one and she briskly sniffed and wiped her cheeks. "AngelFyre tells me you are a romantic at heart, and you proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt to me in Austria, so maybe you can take a little more advice from this old coot," and she chuckled. "Give it to her closer to the stroke of midnight than presenting it to her when she is already dressed and about to walk down the aisle. We both know how tender-hearted she is and the tears are going to flow. Don't put her in a position of having it spoil her makeup or give her puffy eyes. She will never want to look more beautiful to you than on that day, so just keep that in mind."
"Okay, my boy. Find me later tonight up at the house after this celebration is over and I will give it to you without her knowing. Now scoot. She is probably wondering where you are," and she motioned for him to go on without her. Simon leaned over and kissed her on the cheek before taking his leave. He turned to wave to her and she waved back. "Thank you for the dance!
"My pleasure, Grandma Ruth," he smiled as he turned back and headed for the gift table.
***********
"Simon, it is gorgeous! I absolutely love it.!" She opened it up to find her all time favorite photo of the two of them along with three other fine choices that brought a non-stop smile to her lips. She kept turning it around and around looking at all of them at least three times before closing it up and turning around so that he could place it around her neck. When she turned back around so she could model it for him, she stepped close to him and wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. She turned her head to kiss his earlobe and then whispered in all sincerity, "As much as I love this necklace, I love what you said to me while giving it to me even more," and she stepped back a bit from him so she could look into his beautiful golden brown eyes. "I love how it feels to be loved by you, too. There is nothing better in this world than that, mo chridhe." (my heart)
"Let me see. Let me see, AF!" squealed Ainsley and AngelFyre and Simon both laughed as they pecked each other on the lips before she turned to show off her beautiful necklace to her friend.
The magic is real.

Allowing the party girl @AngelFyre McCubbin some time with her guests
Simon smile and was glad to see that AngelFyre was maintaining her close friendships despite being back at Hogwarts. He still wrote quite often to his crew back in London and made sure to visit them when on break. Many he knew back at Hogwarts had trouble maintaining their other friendships, but that never seemed the case for these two Hufflepuffs. He was even truly glad to see Kendric there and hoped that friendship could be salvaged - and back-stepped to just friendship for the one.
Simon thought about the gift that Grandma Ruth was going to present to him and felt it was a huge responsibility - and he loved bearing that weight. In allowing him to have such an item, it showed her faith in the two of them as a couple; even if so young. He would ensure that it would happen, but if for some misfortune of a wrong direction in God's plan, he would find someone qualified enough and no matter the cost and have it altered so that it would retain any nods to AngelFyre herself and Grandma Ruth and would make certain it would still rest in AngelFyre's hands one day. No matter what.
In the distance, he saw Aunt Maggie and her boyfriend Mark joining the party and he knew was a good sign. Aunt Maggie would have been worried about the cat and if she was now joining in the festivities that most likely meant there was good news for David Beckham/Bowie/Hasselhoff.
Part of Simon wanted to use this time to go talk to Kendric himself and see if he could smooth anything over but no, the boy needed some space. If this was the first time he was attempting to be around and be civil to AngelFyre since their slight falling out then it was too soon and would only hurt the matter. Best to not approach. The last thing Simon wanted was to come off as the smug boyfriend.
There were some of her other friends there at the next table and Simon went over there with this water cup and sat down, letting The Three Musketeers/The Three Amigos to have some time together. These friends asked many questions about Simon and AngelFyre's school, about their relationship, and about their trips together and Simon answered them all to the best of his ability, skirting only around details when it came to Hogwarts and magic, but filling it with enough other details that it still sounded fascinating enough.
Most of her friends went to the Dunbar Grammar School, with a few attending private schools. They had chalked up the school AngelFyre was attending to be some fancier private school since it was further off in the Highlands and honestly, some might have not questioned anything from the boy just for his accent alone - it seemed to happily distract many. Thank God for British accents.
After visiting for a bit, he went to refill his cup of water and went to look out to the grounds of the McCubbin Home and Sanctuary and to maybe get an update from Hugo on the cat if he should see him. He was fortunate enough to have so much of AngelFyre's time already that he didn't want to be further selfish - so he distanced himself to allow her time at this Birthday celebration to be with those that she didn't encounter as much.

A boyfriend unlike himself, @Simon Kincaid
While it may have seemed that AngelFyre was completely caught up in her conversations with her friends, she was acutely aware of Simon's whereabouts most of the time. There was the period when he went off alone with Grandma Ruth, and that she knew was most likely a very good thing. She hoped not, but it could turn out to be some of their last moments together in private, and that she did not want to interrupt.
When he returned with her locket and presented it to her and wandered off again, AngelFyre began to pay more attention to a feeling of unease. Simon was doing and saying all of the right things, but he did not look at ease. The boy was always so good with meeting people and engaging them, but something seemed off right now. She had not been alone with him for more than two minutes since first greeting him earlier, so she had no idea if he was struggling with his unsettling aura or if something else was going on with him, but she knew she was going to find out.
She looked at Ainsley and Kendric and excused herself. "I will catch up with you two a little later. I want to catch up with Simon for a bit. Maybe see how his Aunt's cat is doing."
She saw him walking off by himself and was about to hurry after him when she caught sight of Aunt Maggie and someone she knew had to be Mark. She ran over to give Aunt Maggie a big hug and happily met her boyfriend. She asked if they had gotten any kind of report from Hugo about David Beckham's condition, and Aunt Maggie replied that he seemed much more alert with the infusion of fluids. She said Hugo had told her he was cautiously optimistic.
"That is wonderful news. If anything, Hugo tends to under sell a situation, so there is more than one reason to celebrate tonight." Then AngelFyre turned to look around to see if she could lay eyes on her grandmother. "I am so sorry for the circumstances that brought you here, but I am very glad that you are all here," and she could not suppress her smile, "especially that glorious nephew of yours. Plus, this is a chance I thought we would not have. I very much want you to meet Grandma Ruth. She has heard so much about you from Simon, of course, but also from my folks and from me. She is just dy- ...." and AngelFyre stopped abruptly in mid-sentence. Aunt Maggie folded her in her arms and AngelFyre snuggled in a bit.
"Here is what you need to know about Grandma Ruth. She would have laughed at that flub up of mine. I know you are not likely to say such a silly thing as you have your weekly meals with your grieving spouses group, but on the off chance even you slip up, she will be more than fine with it." She looked at Mark quickly before scanning the crowd once again for her grandmother. "And do not think you are in the clear, either, Sir. She has heard a good deal about you as well. Oh! There she is, back at the smoker and serving out her world-famous-in-Scotland-at-least brisket," and she chuckled. "Though seriously, it really is delicious, or so my father swears. Come on. I will introduce you."
A few minutes later, pleased that Aunt Maggie and Grandma Ruth had finally connected, AngelFyre had hopes of doing the same with her fellow. She headed off in the direction she last saw him walking, and took little time to catch up to him.
Running up next to him, she noted he was already smiling but had not turned towards her. He had slowed his pace down so she knew he knew she had been hot on his trail. She slipped her hand into his and said nothing for a while, just walked with him for a bit. He seemed particularly introspective and she did not want to intrude, but she was curious as to what, exactly, was going on with him. A seedling of fear was trying to take root, telling her he wanted nothing to do with her friends or her life here, really, but that did not feel like her boy... not entirely at least.
"A shilling for your thoughts."

Something with AngelFyre McCubbin
A soft breeze that was consistently blowing for a good while finally came to a rest and he could hear someone approaching. It was his initial thoughts that it was her, and seemed to know even before her hand came into his own.
Simon smiled over to her and the two began to walk. He wasn't sure if she needed a moment of peace from her busy day or not as he knew how much she loved others but also that it drained her battery and being the center of attention most certainly was a quick way of doing that.
"It's really nice here. I can see why you like it," he finally broke the silence between them. She had glanced to him just one too many times that seemed to hint to him that maybe she was trying to ask him what is wrong? "It's beautiful and it's quiet. Quiet in a good-sort-of-way. A way where someone can actually be with their thoughts - not it's-so-quiet-I'm-bored-out-of-my-mind sort of quiet." He looked over to her and smiled because he realized he was sort of rambling, but it was just nonsensical rambling and at least would show her that he wasn't upset at all with anything. And nonsensical rambling or not, it was truly his opinion.
"I was over here so you could have some time with your friends. I really wasn't supposed to be here and all and I didn't want to overshadow anything," especially with how the one small grouping of girls seemed to gravitate to him due to either the mystery of what exactly who Simon Kincaid was since they had 'heard so much about him' or the accent.
She needed time with her friends back home. Simon knew how important that all was. You didn't just realize you were of this magical world and turn your back on everyone else. He wouldn't do that to his friends and he knew AngelFyre wouldn't to hers.
"Are you having a good Birthday?" he asked her, squeezing her hand before lifting it up, leading her into a sort of dance-like twirl as they walked.

But I WANT to show you off, @Simon Kincaid
"I am having a fantastic birthday. I am getting to see you... something I did not think I would have the chance to do except over our phones, so standing next to you in this moment makes it perfect!" and she leaned over to kiss his cheek when he twirled her back in front of him.
As they continued to walk, farther from the birthday gathering and crowd, she quickly processed what he had just told her about not wishing to "overshadow" anything. "Simon, I never have felt, and cannot ever fathom the possibility of feeling, overshadowed by you. Just the opposite. I am so proud of you and of being your girlfriend that I sometimes literally pinch myself. I wake up everyday and feel like I won the lottery because I have you," and she squeezed his hand three times while still walking, but now doing so while resting her head on his shoulder.
"Every one of my friends back there, especially the girls, have been dying to meet you for quite some time now. I think some probably thought I might have been fibbing about you, but that has surely been quashed at this point," and she laughed lightly. She took note that her laugh was now more easily heard than the festivities behind them. "I saw them positively riveted by whatever it was you were saying to them while I was with Ainz and Kendric and it made me happy because I knew they were being introduced to that Simon charm of yours. Good as I am with words, there just are not the right ones that can be put in any order to come close to explaining what it feels like to be in the center of that phenomena. That is your real magic, love."
She stopped at that point and cast a glance towards the river. It was fairly calm, but she could hear it lapping against the stone in the little inlet just off to their side. "I am always greedy for more of you and your time. If I had my way, we would be together all the time. I know some distance is healthy, and we do get a healthy dose of that, but my preference is for much less of it honestly," and she turned to him. His eyes were inky black in the darkness enveloping them and she smiled as he no longer even tried to look away so that she could not see this part of him.
They had come so far in their year together.
"I admit to being puzzled that you would think I would somehow wish to separate you out of the equation of time with my friends. This is my chance to show you off! I have no idea how long you will be here, but I know how long I will be here, and I can have my fill of private time with any or all of them in the next few days. You never should feel like you are encroaching on any of that, okay?"
Turning her back to the river, she delighted in being able to see the moon's reflection in his eyes, glinting in the ripples. She reached up and ran her fingers through his perfectly kept mane and lifted herself up to press her lips softly against his. "I love you and you truly are my best birthday present. Heck, you are my best present every single day," and she leaned up again for another sweet kiss.
The magic is real.

Song and dance, or rather, dance then song with @AngelFyre McCubbin
Simon would feel the same. If she ever unexpectedly came to London, he'd happily cancel any plans for her or be welcoming to have her join anything it was that he was doing, no matter what it was or who it was with. He smiled as she pulled back from that kiss.
"Well then, if you're so determined to show me off then I shouldn't deny the Birthday Girl," and he brought his arm around her as he began to walk, now leading them from the river side and they could circle back, closer to the festivities.
They'd be back closer to Grandma Ruth and her parents, Aunt Maggie and Mark, Hugo if he should have any news on David Beckham, and all her friends.
The party games seemed to have finalized, or perhaps they were only taking a break, but the party guests seemed to now either be dancing or getting a snack or refreshment as they socialized amongst one another. No one seemed to be standing solo and it seemed everyone knew someone but that made sense in a small place like Stenton Village.
Simon, his arm still around her, pulled her close to him. "Can you show me off after we have a dance and whatnot?" he asked. Regular music was on for the moment, not that he didn't enjoy his line dancing lesson with Instructor Ruth. He wasn't exactly sure how long he would be staying so he wanted to get in the dance.
He was also terribly vague about the whatnot.
But music was one place where some talents rested within him so maybe she could start showing him off. She'd at least show off that confident boyfriend of hers whose unwavering attention was on her. The two would first dance, moving in sync with one another even without some routine worked out. It was sort of lost on him how it was possible, but it was almost as if the two could somehow 'read' one another or just 'know' one another. They did it April 2nd of 2022 when they first became an official couple in the Rehearsal Room. They did it the night they went on stage in London. They'd do it again here at her Birthday party in Stenton Village.
When the song finished, very few were socializing anymore and all eyes seemed to be on them. Simon took this as his opportunity. "One moment, love," he said to her as he brushed his hand gently against her face before leaving from her side.
He jogged quickly to the other side of the space and to where the microphone was set up for the sack race. "Hello?" he said and pulled the mic away from him to listen on whether or not his voice was coming through the speaker to see if it was turned on. It was. Simon smiled, looking out to the others but quickly focusing his attention on her. "I'm Simon Kincaid and have the amazing honor of calling myself the boyfriend of the Birthday girl. I'd like to sing a song dedicated to her. Bare with me, one moment."
One moment to prepare for the whatnot.
He quickly pulled out his phone, quickly tapped some buttons as he searched something up, and then slipped it into his pocket upside down so that the speaker end was facing outward. He then came to sit on one of the bales of hay and patted the space next to him for her to sit. In such a position, he could move the microphone near his phone and still have it rather close to his mouth.
The beginning music for a very popular song began to play, just the music, as the lyrics would be provided by him and he came in exactly on time. Was there to be karaoke at AngelFyre's Birthday? Serenading? Whether or not that was the case, Simon proceeded with the entire song of "My Girl" from The Temptations. No one had to listen, as it wasn't so loud that they couldn't have their private conversations, but the boy would put his all into the song, yet effortlessly, and he had a way with music that usually brought positive attention on himself. Perhaps while he was trying to make this a memorable Birthday for her, he was already being shown off.

E P I L O G U E
Grandma Ruth smiled contentedly and watched as Simon took his leave of her while she continued to sit on the quilt-covered hay bale. Neither knew it for certain at the time, as that is just the nature of life and its whims when it comes to God's timing, but Simon's parting words to Grandma Ruth, accompanied by his winning smile amongst the hay bales, would be the last time the two would ever speak to, or see, each other. When Simon would finally make it back to his guest room much later that night, he would find two boxes waiting for him on his bed, along with a shakily, but legible, handwritten note.
Dearest Simon,
The large box contains the item we spoke of earlier this evening. Feel free to open it and look if you wish, though I would think twice about taking it out of the box. Folding it was a chore! Just know that all the love that went into this was not for AngelFyre only. Thoughts of you were just as prevalent in each choice made throughout the process. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that you will be blessed beyond all measure with our darling girl, but it is also true that AngelFyre will be equally blessed to have you.
The smaller box is something just for you, however. You may recall I mentioned my love for dragonflies when we spoke earlier. I have intended this dragonfly tie clip for you for some time. I was going to give it to you this year at Christmas, but it feels more right to do so now. It is pewter and belonged to my Ezra. I know it is old fashioned and scratched, but those can be buffed out. I also know it is most likely not something stylish young men such as yourself wear these days, but it means a lot to me and I want you to have it nonetheless. From one Ezra to another. My heart smiles!
I know I told you to find me tonight after the party, but you have my apologies. Sleep beckoned and I just had to succomb. I am sure you will understand.
Love and affection,
Grandma Ruth
P.S. I hope David Letterman feels better soon! ;-)
