Homesick PV Linda Ramirez closed

Back at Hogwarts. Linda was happy to be here again, meeting her friends and sometimes new students. It felt like second home already with a big family. She looked at the window and then at Lila. Hey, wanna walk a little? Her kitten became so happy. So it was decided.

Li changed her clothes, made her haircut and put warm sweater on Lila. Then took her in her arms and went out of the room. Together they went out of the castle and Linda put Lila on the ground so her kitten could enjoy this walking as much as she wanted.

They were walking around the castle, with playing with ball. However Lila was getting quite playful so Linda had to run now to still be able to see her kitten. Lila don't run away so much, I don't want to lose you or you get in trouble.

With saying that she saw that now they were in the courtyard. She looked back at Lila and found that this little kitten got attracted by something. She traced Lila going with her ball to someone who was sitting with head in knees. Now looking more focusing on this someone, Li saw it was a girl, most likely also second year, but they didn't talk before. And for sure Lila got distracted from her game by it, been naturally like Linda, caring for someone who might look upset or not well.

She silently thanked something made Lila stop running. Coming quickly closer to a girl she took Lila in her hands. Hi. I'm sorry for Lila. Do you mind if I sit here with you?

Madi removed her head from her knees, looking up. A little kitten carrying a ball was running up to her. She smiled. Madi wasn't a cat person, she definitely preferred dogs, but this kitten looked so sweet. The owner of the kitten wasn't far behind the kitten. She stopped in front of Madi, and picked up the cat. She apologized for the kitten and asked if she could sit with her. Madi nodded, suddenly feeling very embarrassed. She moved her legs to the ground so the girl would have a place to sit. She then wiped her eyes. She hated crying in front of people, even only a few tears. She hated feeling so vulnerable. She looked up and said; "Of course, go ahead." She said, deciding to say something other than a nod.

Madi looked at the girl and realized she recognized her. She had met her at a ball they had attended very recently, and at her friend Delainie's birthday party. They had been introduced multiple times,a and Madi thought that her name was Linda. They didn't know each other well, but Madi still found it more embarrassing that they knew each other, even at all, and she had seen her upset.

Linda sat down with letting Lila be on her knees. However, kitten had its own opinion about staying there and went to the girl with her ball. Li looked at Lila and at the girl. Now she was realizing that they've met before. Madi, right? It seems like quite recently we just saw each other on a ball and Del's birthday party. That was really nice time, wasn't it? And just let me know if you want me to take Lila from you. This small one really likes to play with those, she considers to be good people.

Linda smiled warmly. Surely she noticed that Madi was looking upset and, did she try to wipe some tears? But naturally, Li wasn't going to mention it.

Just some days ago they were at home and now they were back here. Linda looked a bit missing now which could seem to be as if she was sad. She missed her hometown friends and family sometimes, despite them talking through owls and Linda having great friends here. You know, it's even strange. I like to be here and I have nice friends, but still sometimes I miss my family and friends I have outside Hogwarts. That's interesting. She became silent for a while. Lila wanted Madi to play with her, so she was trying to give her ball. Giving it closer to Madi and again to the end of girl's knees. Despite playing, Lila was careful not to scratch. Linda liked it. It was somehow calming.

The whole truth about her kitten was that Lila wouldn't leave alone the person, who is upset, till they feel better. Li found it so fascinating but sometimes it could be a problem. Not everyone could like it. This was something they were alike. Linda also couldn't pass by someone if they seemed to be upset. However, she could do it when she felt that she's not wanted. But now she would have to try her best to distract Madi from whatever was making her looking upset. Lila came to Linda and back to the girl. Li smiled, and put her hand in kitten's fur.

She looked at Madi, feeling desperately wish to say these words, but at the same time not saying them. It's okay to not be happy always. It's okay to have other feelings and it's okay if you want to cry. Could Madi read it from her eyes? Linda didn't know that but somehow hoped she could.

Madi thought that once the girl had sat down, the kitten would stay with the girl. But she didn't, and instead went over to Madi, who soon realized it was probably because she was holding the kitten's ball. "Oh, do you want this back?" She said, gently placing the ball down by the kitten. She looked up at the girl, who had started talking to her, mentioning her name and talking about the ball and Madi's best friend's birthday party. That was when Madi had met the girl, and now she recognized her. "Yeah, I'm Madi. You're Linda, right?" She asked. "That was nice, I had a good time for both the ball and Dellie's birthday." She said. She had worried about the ball, as balls were not her kind of thing, but she had ended up having a really nice time. Then, Linda told Madi that anytime she wanted "It's fine, she's really sweet." She smiled. Linda was really easy to talk to, even when Madi was upset.

Linda then mentioned how she sometimes missed her family and friends outside of Hogwarts. Madi could definitely relate to that. "Same with me. I'm excited to be back at Hogwarts and see all those friends that I didn't get to see over the summer, but then I'm missing my friends and family back home. I didn't miss them that much in my first year because I was worried about what Hogwarts would be like, not how long I'd be gone from my family, but now I'm really missing them a lot." Madi admitted. She was someone who really hated talking about her feelings, so this was a big improvement. She didn't really know why she was saying it, though. It just kind of spilled out of her.

Madi looked at Linda and saw that she was trying to communicate something to Madi without speaking. She was pretty good at telling when people were trying to do that, although rarely had Madi ever figured out what they were trying to say.

Right, I'm Linda. It was really quite good, especially Del's birthday party. I attend a lot of balls. Even some around two years before Hogwarts, so I guess I got used to them. Linda laughed a bit. The only time you'll see me acting so formally. She sat a bit in a silence. This year balls were so different. First one was not bad, but she didn't act so formal as on the one she noticed Madi. Completely another outfit, another level of been formal. Was it even possible? But that birthday party was really awesome.

Linda looked at Lila and smiled. Kitten seemed never to be sad or missing anything. It was really lovely to be distracted by looking at her. Then Li listened to Madi carefully. I can understand you. I wasn't worried, for me it was more like I was really interested to finally be here, place where my family was studying. But even then there were times I felt missing and kinda lonely? Strange, right? I already had awesome friends here, but still felt lonely sometimes. Linda became quiet for a while. She didn't really know why she even started talking about it. Maybe because she still was thinking about one of those friends not coming back this year. Her face for a second showed her been worried and guessing some bad news, but quickly returned to light smile with eyes showing just kind and care.

So, that first year is your friend? She seems to be really cool person. Her voice now sounded so curious. Perhaps she just really wanted to change their topic to something more positive or maybe it was something else. That girl even from first meeting already sounded so nice, that Linda thought perhaps they could become friends.

She looked at her kitten that now was enjoying running around Madi and then climbing Linda. Though only to climb down again and run around once more. Finally, Lila seemed to get tired so she climbed back onto knees, but decided to lay on both girls at the same time, and slept.

Linda smiled looking at it taking Lila's ball. She seems to trust you a lot since she's doing like this. It was really nice time and it was surprising how openly Linda could talk about things, she's used to not discuss much. Madi seemed to notice her eyes speech but luckily didn't seem to realize what Li tried to say. That was fine, perhaps it was even better this way.

"Dellie's birthday party was really fun." Madi agreed, smiling. "That was the first ball I've ever gone to, it was kind of strange. I can't ever imagine getting used to them, like you have." she said.

Madi nodded along as Linda spoke. "I normally feel the loneliest when I'm around a lot of people, it's kind of weird." She could really relate with what Linda was saying, and she was starting to appreciate her company. Linda became silent. Madi saw her face fall for a second and then rise. "You okay?" Madi asked. Whenever she did that, she was thinking about something sad and thought Linda was doing the same thing.

"Yeah, she is. She's really awesome. " Madi said. She grinned and looked down at Lila, who was now running back and forth between her and Linda. She eventually stopped and laid down on both Madi and Linda. She thought that was adorable and gently pet the kitten's fur.

"That's so cute." she smiled. "I hope so. It's kind of weird being this close to a cat, my mother's allergic so we never had one, and I haven't met any of my friend's cats." Madi didn't know why she was mentioning this. She thought she was looking for a conversation topic, even though it wasn't a very good one.

When you go to a lot of balls, you naturally get used. But, you know, this one was really nice. It's interesting that someone arranged it for her. I don't think you see something like that often. Linda smiled warmly thinking about how nice it must be.

You might be around a lot of people and feel so lonely, but you could be with couple of friends and feel like you are the happiest person ever. Either is fine and just the way you feel. Linda said while thinking how accurate Madi said it. I am, most of the time. Just wondering why one of my friends didn't return to Hogwarts yet. Li appreciated this question and suddenly found herself feeling comfortable with talking even briefly about it.

Really? Oh, then Lila is the first one. My family mostly uses owls, but my friends mostly have cats. Is there a pet you'd really love to have here?

Linda got curious about how it feels to have allergy. But she hoped that Madi could still get herself a pet that she likes. Delainie seems to be really nice from what I can say. You know, I have a friend here that reminds me of her. This type of friends is usually the one that stays long time together. That's really great and sometimes they are the ones who help us to feel happier here, away from our home.

"Yeah, I imagine you do." she agreed, and then smiled and nodded. "It is. It was really nice that it was thrown for her."

"Exactly." Madi smiled at Linda. She'd explained it so well. With a few of her closest friends, Madi was happy and rarely felt alone. But when she was with others, she felt lost and lonely. "Oh no, I'm sorry." Madi said. She knew it would be hard if you came to school and realized one of your friends hadn't come back.

"Yeah, I guess she is." she smiled at Linda and then at the kitten - Lila- and pet her. My family just started using owls, and I think they're still nervous about them." she said. Nothing could get rid of the shock of having an owl soar through your window and drop off a letter.
"I did get a ferret over the summer, and I love her so much. But I never thought I would get one. I originally wanted an owl." Madi said, thinking of Aura, her pet ferret. She would love to be out and running around with Lila, Linda's kitten. Madi regretted not bringing her a little bit. She would certainly cheer her up.

"I hope so. she beamed at Linda. "Thank you for coming over and making me feel better. I'd probably be here for a lot longer without you." she said. She looked down at Lila. "And thank you, too." she smiled at the kitten.

Linda looked at Lila, who was obviously enjoying her time with Madi. Both kitten and red haired girl were happy they could help the other girl feel better.

We could meet else if you want. I'd like to know you more. Maybe we could meet with our pets and call Delainie with us? I guess it would be great time for us and our pets.

Linda smiled warmly at the idea. She listened to Madi speaking about her ferret and her family and owls. Linda guessed it could be way too new for those who are not wizards to see owls with letters. Oh I guess it could take time for them. I never thought about things that are so natural for me, how they will be for those who are not raised in wizarding world to be honest. But I can imagine it could be hard.

She thought about it for a minute and then looked back at Madi. It was time for Linda to go back to her room, although she really enjoyed time here at the courtyard. Are you planning to stay here else? I was going to go back to the castle to feed Lila, so if you want, we could go together.
