The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Damian had been sitting at the Ravenclaw table for the last few minutes, before a quieter looking Ravenclaw came to sit next to him [Henry]. Damian gave the boy a smile and nod, before going back to sipping his drink. He was lost in thought staring at the enchanted ceiling of the Great hall.
Damian wondered to himself at the idea of being able to come back to this place every year and to be able to share what he learned with the same people he might meet during his time here. Damian had spent so much of his life travelling with his parents, that long lasting friendships were somewhat of an alien concept to him.
After listening to various small conversations, most of which didn't go anywhere, Damian began to feel the pressure to actually socialize. Damian didn't have a loner personality, but he was still a bit shy and introductions tended to make him a little nervous. Damian started playing with some of the silver beads in his hair, a nervous tick he developed, and began looking for an opportunity to join in a conversation.
After a minute, another Ravenclaw [Ryan], struck up a conversation with the boy sitting next to Damian. After listening to Henry introduce himself, Damian thought this might be his chance and decided to awkwardly introduce himself as well
"Hi...sorry to butt in, but I figured I would introduce myself as well. My name is Damian McCoy, nice to meet you two."
Damian was still nervously twisting one of beads in his hair, hoping they wouldn't think he was rude for jumping into their conversation.

Henry peered over at the other boy with a curious look. He actually didn't mind him jumping in at all. In fact, he welcomed it graciously. It had been a while since he had really made any friends, so the sudden, yet polite flood of chit chat was a nice change. Far better than his usual, lonely, silent eating. At least, he hoped it was.
At the very least, Henry offered a hand for the other boy to shake.
"It's very nice to meet you, as well, Damien. I really don't mind the interruption, if Ryan doesn't. Speaking of, am I in the way of you guys? I can move, if it's not too much trouble."
Henry figured the two boys would want to sit closer to talk to each other. He really didn't mind moving. He was never much of a talking type, anyway. More of the type to join a conversation, listen, and only interject if what he had to say was important enough. Both boys seemed pretty nice, at least enough to have a pleasant conversation with.
And so, Henry offered a welcoming smile and offered to trade seats. Because it was the nice, considerate thing to do.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Damian's face grew puzzled for a second at Henry's words, but instead of dwelling on it he smirks and grabs the boys hand.
"No Henry, I would rather get to know the both of you, but I appreciate the offer...unless of course you would like to change seats? By the way are there any classes the two of you are looking forward to?"
Damian thought for a second about playfully lecturing Henry for his lack of self-confidence, which is something that his mother would do to him often, but he didn't know what Henry's life was like. He had made friends with many kids who had different upbringings than himself on his travels with his family. Damian learned that what he saw as innocent teasing might not always be received that way. He figured it would be best to get to know Henry a little more, beforehand.
After posing his question to the other two, Damian picked up his apple and started thinking about his own answer to it. He was excited to learn more about Divination, which was a family specialty on his father's side, but he had come to Hogwarts with somewhat of a mission and that was to learn more about his friend's curse and how he could help her.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Her stomach was uncontrollably making noise. Gurgle upon gurgle, Bloom made her way back into the Great Hall. She looked around with her chocolate chip eyes to see a lot of other Ravenclaw's were around eating and getting to know one another. Gracefully walking close to the Ravenclaw table, she saw two Ravenclaw's who she did not recognize. As Prefect, it was Bloom's job to introduce herself and get to know others, right?
Bloom lifted her petite leg and slid in between the bench and the table and soon after slid her other leg, too. Sitting down, she overheard the Ravenclaw's discussing their comfort of budding into conversation. One Ravenclaw offered to move to ensure the other's comfortability. How sweet, Bloom thought, not entirely caring to be polite enough to ask if she was interrupting. She was an outgoing person with an overactive imagination. To Bloom, anything goes.
"Hi there! I'm Bloom," she introduced herself with a bright smile. I think I'm doing my job right..., she thought to herself, her mind racing as to what it entirely meant to be Prefect anyways. One of her rules was to be very welcoming to the other Ravenclaws. Where's Ben when I need him? she asked herself, thinking of her Prefect partner and boyfriend.
"Come here often?" she asked the Ravenclaw's jokingly. I got this...

Henry nodded, not quite understanding what made him intriguing enough to this person, but appreciated it anyway."No Henry, I would rather get to know the both of you, but I appreciate the offer...unless of course you would like to change seats? By the way are there any classes the two of you are looking forward to?"
"It's fine. I'd like to get to know you, too!"
Henry gave pause at the question. What classes was he looking forward to? He only really knew a few from off the top of his head. He thought long and hard about his answer. Muggle studies would be the easiest, considering he grew up only knowing of muggles. He still couldn't get used to the word, though. Divination was a hard one to pinpoint. Was that one... fortune telling? Transfiguration seemed interesting enough. He'd always had a fascination with the concept of turning one thing to another. But charms and history of magic could help him in his goal of causing a massive overhaul of the wizard government to better improve the wizarding world. Then again, potions was a concept all its own. Could it, maybe...?
Henry nodded to himself. Yes, it was perfect. From what he knew, it was exactly right. He turned to the other two and spoke his thoughts.
"Honestly? Potions. Potions and herbology. I've always kinda wanted to be a doctor and potions and herbology are exactly what I need to do that."
Henry turned to the girl that just sat with them and gave her a kind smile."Hi there! I'm Bloom," she introduced herself with a bright smile.
"Hi, Bloom. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name's Henry and this is Damien and Ryan. We were just talking about what classes we were looking forward to. Would you care to join?"
He then turned to the other two.
"Would you lads care if she joins?"

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Lyra walked to the Ravenclaw table after being sorted and tried to stay as low as possible. She was always nervous around new people and this was a lot of new people.
Now she kind of wished that she'd been sorted into Hufflepuff..at least her sister was there..
No, she berated herself. My sister doesn't need me around and besides, I can survive without her.
Can't I?
Sighing to herself, Lyra looked around at her table and noticed everyone chatting to each other. She saw a few boys that'd been sorted before her with an older girl, probably a prefect, Lyra thought.
She turned to look at her sister again, who smiled at her and waved to the other people on her table, motioning for her to chat with them.
Lyra shook her head at her older sister and turned back to her own table, her cheeks flaming. Luna never understood how hard it was for her to talk to strangers, especially when they were currently engaged in conversation. It was fine to talk to people she already knew, but actually getting to know them was hard for her.
She began to eat her food, hoping that when she went to her dormitory she'd find it easier to make new friends.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
It was time for Ben to head back down for some grub, and there was a big gathering still going on at the Ravenclaw table when he arrived. Weren't the Hufflepuff supposed to be the eaters, and his house the library study freaks? Oh well. Ben liked food and he saw Bloom at the table so he lit up as he approached.
Not even hungry now.
The Prefect found a spot right next to his girlfriend, Bloom, and poked her in the shoulder. He grinned at her and waved to everyone else nearby. The pair were still a very new couple so the excitement was super high. Ben looked at his plate and an elegant looking meal appeared before him. It looked great! His mum and dad were good cooks, but this was... magical. He decided to not tell his parents how amazing it was. In fact, he still had not written home.
I should write home soon... but my mum would freak out at an owl... oh well.
"Hey Bloom, hey everyone," he said happily as he picked up his fork to inspect the meal. "How is everyone doing?"
He eyed a new girl coming over that he didn't recognize so he waved to her as well. Being nice and helping new house members was part of his job as Prefect. That's probably why Bloom came to the most crowded Ravenclaw place of all; the Ravenclaw chow town.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
After watching Bloom sit down and introduce herself, Damian smiled and chuckled at her opening joke.
Damian, jokingly, pretended to think about the question.
"Of course not. It's nice to meet you Bloom!...Looks like you got a Prefect badge, how's that going?"
A moment after asking the question, another Prefect sat down next to Bloom and spoke up.
He quickly regretted his words. Damian's snarkiness, was something he got from his father and sometimes it came out when he didn't intend it to. He really hoped that he didn't come off as a jerk.
The slight embarrassment caused Damian to look around the room. It was then that he noticed another Ravenclaw girl looking at the group, then looking away embarrassingly [Lyra]. Damian knew that feeling, introductions were not so easy for him either.
He started twisting at the small beads in his hair again. Damian patted Henry on the shoulder then got up "I'll be right back everyone" Then he made his way over to the Ravenclaw girl [Lyra].
"Hi! Sorry to interrupt your meal, I'm Damian, What is your name?"
Damian said it with a smile, but he was still nervously twisting the beads in his hair.

Damian was surprised by the sudden influx of new people in the conversation and responded a little quicker than he meant to "I'm doin good, but we must be a mighty suspicious looking group to have attracted so many Prefects.""How is everyone doing?"

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Her smile, large, she was happy to have met more students from her house. Okay, so that's Henry... Damian... and Ryan... Wait, is that Felicity Ryan? There were so many names to memorize and get to know. She was getting too flustered at the moment that she heard a familiar voice ring through her ears.
Ben! she thought excitedly. She was happy that Ben was around to also meet the other Ravenclaw's as two heads were always better than one. Anything she forgot, he would remember and vice versa. So far, she enjoyed the boys' company.
"Being a Prefect is going amazingly," she said, looking at Ben and smiling. She could not help but to laugh when Damian mentioned that there must have been something wrong to have two Prefects around. She cleared her throat and raised her eyebrows in suspicion. "Are you telling me that we should be suspicious of you guys?" she asked, playfully.
Bloom, pretty hungry, grabbed a piece of bread from the middle of the elongated table and some butter. For some reason, she had been craving bread and other sweets. She shrugged the thought of eating too much pointless meals and kept her focus on the men in blue and black.
"Let's see... I'm very much excited for Potions. Charms... Not so much," she said, keeping their conversation going. "What about you, Ben?" she asked, including Ben into the conversation.
Bloom looked around to see if there was anyone else joining the table, and there was. It was a Ravenclaw girl. She seemed to be really shy. Bloom was always a bit put off by shy people. She enjoyed being with people of her kind (outgoing), but she needed to show a good first impression. Bloom called out to the girl who sat down and waved.
"Oy! What's your name? Come closer!" Bloom motioned the girl to sit closer to her and the other boys. She wondered if she would do it.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Ryan's conversation was interrupted by Damien, but he didn't mind so much considering it was always his goal to make friends and bring a group together to rise to greatness with them all. Especially Ben, he could see Ben and him doing all activities possible. Dueling, quidditch, even just studying, they were going to be mates for sure. Now though, there seem to be many in which were friendly and outgoing. After speaking with some of them, Ryan realized he zoned out for a moment and jumped back into the conversation at hand with Damien.
"Two classes?" He said with an thoughtful look on his face..."I think I'm excited for every class, but maybe Defense Against the Dark Arts, and maybe Charms" He was not truly excited for those classes, or any classes as much as the entire curriculum, but it was the main classes for Auror so it's possibly the classes he would study hardest. He listened in to Bloom, the new girl in the conversation.
Damien got up and introduced himself to another girl nearby. Ryan smirked because he enjoyed watching everyone be willing to make friends, and his own friendliness had started this giant chain reaction which became almost the entire first years of Ravenclaw sitting, chilling out. Except Felicity who had recently left before meeting everyone, which Ryan was still thinking of.
"No reason to be suspicious of me." Ryan laughed as he giggled listening to the girl speak about her position as a prefect.
"How can you possibly not be excited about Charms? It is an extremely useful subject for our future." He said to the Bloom in an honestly concerned way.
