Why Can't You Love Me As I Am
Cassiopeia is putting on a beautiful ankle-length gown with a nice floral embroidery with veil-like sleeves that reach their wrists that flare around their hands, their normally messy ginger hair in long ringlets but still frizzy. They look as an angel should with their white dress and ethereal appearance.
They are visiting their great grandmother Ada Alarie, a strict and self-proclaimed old fashion woman. When them and their family visit her, it often ends in tears and Cassi running away, I cannot put what she does into words so you'll have to see.
As they all walk towards the fireplace, their mothers stop walking and turn to them and their brother. "Cassiopeia, I will not tolerate you running away because your feelings were hurt-." Before she could finish, their mama interrupted her and told her not to speak to Cassi that way and the scenery changes as the portkey is activated.
Their mothers are still whisper-arguing and their brother is attempting to calm down both of the enraged mothers as Cassi walks down the all white hallway to their great grandmother's tea room. Their grandmother is sitting in her porcelain chair on the right side of the two person table, obviously waiting for Cassi as she has Cassi's favorite teacup and quite a few sugar cubes. "Come. Let me look at you child." Ada says sharply with her heavy french accent making her words sound more elegant than they are.
Cassi walks to the table and stands by Ada's chair that is now turned to face Cassi. "Hello Great Grandmother, you look even better than last I seen you." Cassi says looking into Ada's eyes because Ada doesn't like it when people avoid eye contact.
"Stand up straight child, you're not a mudblood." Cassi almost flinches when their great grandmother uses the word so hatefully but they avoided doing such. "You're a beautiful girl Cassiopeia. But you should already know that ladies don't dye their hair." It starts now, the purposeful misgendering, homophobia, and the slick comments.
