𝒯o Amadea's absolute and utter disbelief, Bidget was cruising through this round of the gnome race. It seemed as though many of her competitors had not been built with enough brain versus brawn to navigate through the hedges of the maze without doubling back on paths they had already tried or getting lost in the middle of the enclosure. Bidget, on the other hand, along with a few other gnomes, seemed to handily maneuver her way through. It was incredibly impressive, and much to Amadea's surprise, Bidget ended up being one of the three gnomes that finished first.
Wow! That qualified Bidget for the last race, the thunder-gnome. Amadea appreciated the play on words; she herself loved a good pun. Unfortunately, she had not been preparing herself to cheer Bidget on through another race (she had been under the assumption that Bidget would not be qualifying for the top 10 and Amadea would just be spectating instead) but now she had to rush and gather herself to get Bidget to the starting line. Bidget was definitely the underdog in this situation, considering she was the 10th of the top 10 competitors. Amadea knew that most likely, she was not going to win, but Amadea was proud of the gnome nonetheless. Plus, crazier things had happened before; her expectations had already been exceeded with the past race. "Okay Bidget, one more race and then it's all over," she said to the gnome, wondering if there was some part of Bidget that was actually comprehending what she was saying. "Take the momentum from the last race and bring it into this one, okay? You got this. Don't let the name intimidate you, you're a great gnome!" Placing Bidget at the starting line, Amadea stood back and held her breath in anticipation. What was going to happen now? Only time would tell.

None; Please do not interact with, but feel free to mention!Calming Presence in Effect"YEAH TIDDLYWINK! GO BUDDY, GOOOOOOOO!" The Britalian cried out as he kept pumping his fists in the air and encouraged his little abomination onwards. Perhaps by following the others, perhaps by simply being turned in the right direction at the right time by clipping the edges of the hedges or bumping off of the other gnomes that were participating in the event, the ramshackle fella did indeed manage to make a clean third placing among other unfamiliar gnomes, a victory that easily seated the little guy cleanly in the top ten going into the Thunderdome.
"WAHOO!" Piérre garbled through his mandrake leaf before sucking quickly to avoid losing it or dribbling into his brother's hair. "I TOLD YOU! TOP TEN, BABY!" Sliding off of Romeo's shoulders, Piérre picked up the gnome and showed it to Romeo as if he was a bird dog retrieving a fowl that had been shot down. "He's such a smort boy!" He said proudly as he snugged the gnome close to his chest. "A smort, pretty boi!"
But alas, the next and potentially greatest trial was yet to come; the Gnome Thunderdome. This was the place that Tiddlywink would have to shine best and brightest among those who were also similarly built and perhaps a good deal tougher than Tiddlywink himself. Perhaps the fact that the gnome was already falling apart at the seams would be able to assist him in this endeavor; the little scrappy bits for sure would distract any gnome that was trying to get up and personal to the gnome, and then when they did try, Tiddlywink's 'scissor hands' would easily make quick work of them!
As his fighter entered the ring, Piérre watched with baited breath on his brother's shoulders. They were so close. So, so close. This was the last push, and then the little scrappy guy would have it all!
"Piérre luck... Piérre luck... Piérre luck..." The Britalian chanted under his breath as they collided at last.Well I guess tonight was going to be a blue moon.
Shaking my head in awe as I watched the gnome cross the finishing line, I only shrugged and let Piérre climb down from my shoulders in order to prepare the fella for his final outing in the gladiatorial arrangement that would (potentially) be its final fight. "Yes... very smart..." I murmured as I looked the gnome over forward and back and then tightened the springs at the wrists that would allow its sharpened hands and fingers to lash out with an almost clockwork-like tension. I could feel my mind wandering elsewhere in the meanwhile, though I wasn't sure where or when it was going.
There was just... a lot going on... a lot that I was struggling to comprehend and come to terms with for the most part. I had really been hoping that this would be distracting enough for me... but obviously it simply wasn't. It simply just... wasn't enough.
"Okay, brother. Last one of the day." My voice was low and mostly blunt as I watched the show below us begin. My brother was chanting on my shoulders; well... at least he was excited. "I hope that you built this thing as strong as you've been bragging to me that you have." A small smile. There had to be an attempt. Even if it was just a small one, it just had to be an attempt.Tiddlywink's Stats: Endurance 4 | Strength 7 | Wit 4

Gnome Racing - Summer Competition

Gnome Racing Day - 17 July, 2023
If he had not seen it with his own eyes, Stephen would never have believed it. Gnome N. Clature managed to flub up almost every trap laid before him, and even so, the little guy still managed to finish in the Top 10. Gnome Matter What, of course, crossed the FINISH line well before the plucky purple pirate, but that didn't phase him one little bit. His little fellow was just ecstatic, and honestly, it was hard not to feel the same way watching it. He and Gnome Matter What were doing more fist bumps and jabbering away at each other in the gnomish little grunts that from this distance sounded more to Stephen's ears like high-pitched mosquitoes buzzing by his ears.
He looked over to EmmaLee, smiling as if he, like his little gnome, had no good sense. "It's crazy how invested I've become in those two. I mean, just look at them. If it comes to it, it will be interesting to see how they navigate competing head to head against one another in the Thunder Gnome," and he laughed. "Likely wouldn't bode too well for my Mr. Clature, I'm afraid. He is a little "soft" in the head, donchaknow? And I should know since I'm the one who stuffed it!"

September 8, 2023 (1:Ara clapped and cheered for her gnome as he made it to the finish line, yes Sir Fickely Puffilysnot was near the back of the pack but when the leaderboard was shown, Sir Puffilysnot was part of the top 10 after all. Ara didn't think he would make it so she was genuinely happy. But her smile soon faded knowing that this was going to be a brawl that focused on strength.
There were at least 4 gnomes who were stronger than Sir Puffilysnot and his endurance might not make up for it.
The gnomes were fixed up and Ara went up to her creation and whispered, "You did great, try to evade them. You're smart, right? Use that to your advantage. Good luck Sir Puffilysnot. I hope you don't get K.O-ed" She mumbled the last part after she guided him to the metal cage and waved good luck and goodbye as she left him to sit near the other people whose gnomes were also participating.
People around her were either determined, worried, or wishing their gnome good luck. "1... 2... 3..." The countdown started as Ara crossed her arms and looked right into the big metal cage. 'Please be in the top 8' she thought as the brawl startedFickley Puffilysnot Jr.

The ups and downs of this tournament was almost more than EmmaLee's heart could handle. From second, to first, to eleventh, and finally landing in seventh place, able to move on to the thunder-gnome.
EmmaLee watched this fourth round with the rapt worry of a mother watching her son play a dangerous sport. After watching her little Gnome Matter What struggle through the first obstacle, her worry was momentarily abated as Gnome Matter What absolutely sailed through the rest of the maze. If not for that first fumble, her gnome would have finished with the first pack of gnomes that came out of the maze. Still, his second place in this round secured him seventh place in the overall standings.
The pale girl rushed forward for the fourth time as her clever little gnome came out of the maze, scooped him up, and took him back to see how Gnome N Clature faired with Stephen. As they approached the Ilvermorny boy, Gnome Matter What punched his little fist in the air and gave a deep, but squeaky, "yeah" kind of sound. EmmaLee giggled and mimicked her little racer as she turned to see Gnome N. Clature's progress.
As it turned out, their derpy little friend did just about as well as expected for him. He seemed to get trapped about as often as he passed. Running into traps and walls and puzzles and spinning his wheels just a little too long to be making very quick progress through the maze.
Well, to his credit, the little lad didn't seem to mind as he finally crossed the finish line and ran over to them. EmmaLee giggled again as Gnome Matter What clambered out of her arms and began to fist bump and jitter at his piratey friend. The two gnomes seemed just happy to have finished the race and it was as if they knew they were headed to the thunder-gnome.
EmmaLee turned to Stephen, still giggling a little as she said, "He is a bit cotton-headed, isn't he? But he still beat out my gnome in the final standings." She punched Stephen lightly in the shoulder as she gestured to the scoreboard. "I think they'll do alright. If they do end up facing each other, it'll be friendly competition." She finished with a wide smile.
