Start of a new journey
"Make sure you study well and take care of yourself. Know that-"September 1, 2023The Hogwarts Express
This, is a usual family of five. The five of them were huddled together, currently at platform 9 3/4, to send their 11 year old girl to the prestigious Wizarding school - Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.
"-Academic scores are the most important part of your hogwarts years. You will need good grades to get a good profession later on in life" Her mother rambled on and on. She had been going on like this for ten minutes now, Michelle's anxiety and nervousness going a level higher as every minute passed by. Don't get her wrong, she loved her mother to bits, but she just couldn't bear this. Her parents were putting quite a lot of expectations for her to fulfill, not even stopping for a moment to think about how she must be feeling right now. Not to mention the annoying fact that all 4 of them had come there to send her off.
"Mom, I think that's enough for now, the train's about to leave" Her brother came to her rescue
"Yeah um - I think I should leave now! I'll make sure to keep you all updated and I promise to send letters - a lot of letters! Don't miss me too much"
She hugged her mom, dad and brother and planted a little kiss on her sister's cheek, and walked towards the train.
She took nervous steps inside the train, and found an empty compartment to sit in. As she settled her stuff, she thought about the changes that were going to happen. She waved back to her family and thought, how was she going to spend a whole year without them, how was she going to make friends that she would have to share a dorm with? She had been excited to go to Hogwarts since practically all her life, but now... It didn't seem all great.
The train drove off, and she enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside. And she remembered her grandmother - "Find a reason to be happy in change, because they never stop happening" Maybe... maybe if she could get her confidence to go up a little... She could just make some friends. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
By the time the train reached the station, she was well prepared for the fun and adventurous year that was about to come. Ready to make friends, ready to adapt to change. She wasn't gonna be some spoiled crybaby who misses her family.
"Hogwarts, here I come!" she whispered underneath her breath, before getting off the train
