Monica Evans was the name of the girl with blue hair. For Kit, it was a little obvious that she was trying to sound older and more experienced. She wanted to point it out, remind her that she wasn't as great as acting as Kit was. Obviously. Still, no one really pointed out how embarrassing she was, so perhaps she should just let it slip. Biting her lip, she smiled lightly as the girl stretched out a hand to shake. Kit took it, saying, 'Katherine Isabelle Blaine.' She paused shortly after her introduction and frowned at her full name. 'Call me Kit though.' She cared a great deal for her name, especially when others addressed her as Katherine, a name that didn't suit her personality at all.
The rat scampered onto Kit's arm and the to-be Slytherin could not help but aww at the cute creature. She might get one herself, even. 'There's no need to apologise. Its a blasted female habit.' She paused and thought about what she said, which probably sounded weird. Where had she heard that? Some feminist magazine, she reckoned. Or maybe it was a film? Returning her attention to the rat, she asked the prefect - which was apparently what the 'P' meant - 'So, what's her name?' If she was going to get one herself, she might as well ask for some tips. 'How do you care for her? I'm thinking of getting one myself. Or maybe another rodent, like a ferret.' Wait up. Are ferrets rodents?? That was the million dollar question, wasn't it? Wasn't it?
Next came the Scottish Slytherin. Slytherin buzzkill? Was she calling Kit or Monica that. Kit would like to assume it was the latter, so she decided to retaliate accordingly. 'Shouldn't you treat a prefect with more respect, instead of calling her buzzkill?' Kit said sarcastically. Apparently both girls thought she meant it seriously when she asked about the 'juicy gossip', when in fact she was just jesting. She ignored the remark about her being to young and isntead asked the two a question, 'So which years are the two of you in?' Kit had guesses, but the two Slytherins seemed to be evading their years and trying to make themselves look older.
Jannette presented Kit with some questions. 'I'm quite interested in Flipendo and Incendio though.' She paused dramatically.'Perhaps... I'll attack you with that spell if you refuse to tell me your juicy gossip,' she said with a laugh. 'But seriously,' Kit said, 'Quidditch sounds interesting.' Preferred house? She didn't even know, or care for that matter, what each house was. 'I don't really care, maybe Slytherin too?' She just said a random house that she thought sounded nice. The green robe was pretty, after all.

Others: ✕Monica smiled as the girl not only returned her introduction, but also welcomed Kiwi with open arms, so to speak. Monica looked down at her furry friend knowing full well that Kiwi had a sense of character, and the fact that she didn't coward at all, or nip, good sign honestly.
"Pleasure to meet you Kit. Oh and this is Kiwi," Monica chimed in after learning the young girls name. "Honestly if your thinking rodents, I do recommend rats, they are very intelligent and just fit in your pocket. Plus they are very affectionate." Monica loved nothing more than talking about Kiwi, and giving pet advice, But all good things must come to an end, and after having the question repeated about said 'gossip' Monica sighed, Jannette could fill in fully, but Monica wasn't about to. Not like they really were talking about anything. Monica could feel her chest tightening up again. At this point it was starting to bother her, why was she feeling this way? There wasn't anyone who Monica could think of that......Someone walked by, Monica wasn't able to see their face, but their hair looked familiar. Maggie? No it clearly wasn't but someone that looked enough like her that finally put the pieces together in Monica's mind. That first meeting, though breif, was enough to strike something in the Prefect. Monica remembered when Maggie was no longer a prefect, how sad Monica had been, how excited she was when they got the role together!
Her cheeks turned red, and she turned to avoid eye contact at all cost. Did she have a crush on Maggie Hawkins?
Hearing the conversation pick up as Kit was saying something about respect for Prefects. Monica forced a smile as she looked at Jannette, "Yeah, that sounds about right!" Hopefully her little 'moment' wasn't noticed.
"I'm in third year." She admitted, felt weird to say, like how was she already in third year? Second just felt so.... fast.
"I'm a duellist, and know quite a bit of spells, taking extra time to learn advanced DADA spells too, if you ever want to practice anything your learning.... safely of course" Her eyes traced to Jannette, "Jannette was practicing some spells earlier, I'm sure she could also help." A smirk grew on her face as her arms crossed in front of her.
"Also I know Slytherin would be happy to have some one like you in our house, I mean Kiwi already likes you."

"Call me Kit though."
Kit Isabelle Blaine. That's gonna be a name Jannette will likely hear more than once. The girl had a confidence about her that second-year could respect. Yeah, Kit had her typical awkward first-year introduction that every first-year has, but in fairness, even Jannette’s first time hanging out with some of her classmates was well… awkward.
"Oh sorry about her, she is very social."

A bit of air escaped Jannette’s breath as her eyes peered at Kit. It was so obvious to Jannette that Kit was an avid reader of Witches Weekly… duh! And also a huge fan of the witch's empowerment section! Though that empowerment also went for Jannette…
“Shouldn't you treat a prefect with more respect, instead of calling her buzzkill?”
Sarcasm flew over Jannette’s apple pint head as she’d instinctively gaze in Monica's direction. “Well… I – uhhh…” Her words fumbling around like a student getting hit with the babbling curse. Fresh crimson cheeks and a guilty smile were evident on the Scottish girl's complexion. The embarrassment of being called out by Kit,a first year no less didn’t make her face feel less hot. But luckily for Jannette and what felt like an hour, Monica stepped in to make sure Jannette stayed in line.
"Yeah, that sounds about right!"
“So which years are the two of you in?”
“Second year.” She put her middle and index finger in the air adding additional indication. It was weird to think about her first year at Hogwarts. Sure she made countless friends and has been a part of the Slytherin group, Snek Squad, but also like any student has also made countless enemies. Was it the signs she made against the other houses' quidditch teams a little too far?

Well, Jannette's skepticism flew out the window. Jannette would've loved to see Kit try one day, though admitting to a duel while a Prefect is right next to her wasn't the best idea; especially with Jannette on thin ice with Monica. So for her best interest, Jannette held her tongue though let out a snort, almost as if the girl was doubting the confident first years ability.

Jannette cast a side glance back at Monica, her expression showing a fake and subtle showing of pretend-like ignorance. “Aye, aye – safely…” Her tone holds back from any satire as she tries her hardest not to roll her eyes in protest. To be fair Jannette, Monica is not giving you detention… The similarity resembled that of a time when Jannette’s older sister might scold or discipline her. However, it wasn’t too bad since she didn’t really have to face the wrath of her mother.

The Prefect's arms folded, and a sly smirk that was so smug you’d think she just won the wizarding lottery. Well if that wasn’t a call out I don’t know what is. Jannette straightened herself on the back of the seat, fixing her composure as she crossed her legs. “Aye, as long as oi'm not dealin' with mountains 'n mountains of homework, she can learn from duh best!~"1
Okay, Jannette don't stroke your ego too much...
"Also I know Slytherin would be happy to have some one like you in our house, I mean Kiwi already likes you."
While Jannette wanted to give the o’l ‘Aye, Slytherin would be so happy to have you!’ but something else slithered into her mind, and oh it was so devious!~ “HMmmm oi dont know… while we would be happy t’have yuh in Slytherin,”2 She paused, her arms folded across her chest, as she allowed the second of silence to add tension to the room like a boggart transforming into a person's worse fears before turning her attention to Monica. “I mean, even if she was sor’ed into Slytherin by dat crusty old hat, do yuh really t'ink Kit ‘ere would be able t’survive duh,”3 A curve forms in the corners of the second year's lips played mischievously as if trying to hold back laughter, “Slytherin Initiation Ritual?!” The heavy emphasis in the Scottish girl's voice boomed through the compartment, the tone in her voice showing the oh-so-obvious severity of the situation. Was there really an initiation ritual for Slytherin? No. Was Jannette just doing this to try and scare Kit, why – Merlin of course! I mean, Jannette is in Slytherin afterall, and a little fear in a first-year never harmed anyone, right?
