Classes would be starting tomorrow and that meant preparing early. Well, it's not like Alyssea had any exams to study for right from the bat, but she did have a duel coming up with Zach in a few days and needed to prepare for it. After all, he was a duellist and Alyssea wasn't.

So, today would be a day for strategy. Figure out what spells she could use from First Year, then see if she could learn any Second Year spells in time for the duel. The likelihood of that happening was near zero, but she could have a go at some Third Year Transfiguration spells!

Alyssea came into the empty classroom and set her books out on one of the tables. She could've gone to the Transfiguration classroom to practice the respective Third Year spells, but she wanted to prioritise her current year syllabus. First on the list would be DADA spells, then probably Charms.

She took her wand from her robe jacket and set it on the table beside her books. Not the time to wave her wand and try the spells yet, considering she didn't have any of the training dummies she'd normally work with in the Transfiguration classroom.

Alyssea opened her notebook from First Year and started going through the spells from DADA. Sparks charms were probably allowed, and maybe the smokescreen spell. She quietly whispered the incantations under her breath as a refresher.

Martha loved to fight duels, using her knowledge of magic. She remembered that, in her wizarding school, she was always better than the others during duels. And today, if she went to a classroom, it was to practice. So, she slowly opened the door with her elbows, as her hands were holding her textbooks tightly, then made her way out of the room and sat down at a table, not paying attention to the other students there. A discreet smile stretching her lips, the young blonde opened a first textbook and immersed herself in reading. Her hair falling on her face and preventing her from concentrating, she took an elastic band from the pocket of her uniform and pulled her hair back on her head, in a messy bun done in a hurry.

What spell could she possibly cast? She had learned several, but most of them probably wouldn't help her. So she opened another textbook, searching in vain for something that could help her. Then his attention was drawn to something else; a few meters from her, a young Hufflepuff was whispering a few incantations. So, Martha got up from her chair quietly and approached the Hufflepuff shyly. Seeing that she was focused on her learning, the young blonde patted her right shoulder, not knowing how to approach her.

Smokescreen, sparks, the Dancing Feet Spell... Zach was a human, right? So any spell would do as a starting strategy. Alyssea had a lot to refresh her knowledge on. The incantations stuck in her head, but she needed to remember wand movements now.

Before she could pick up her wand, a tap came on her shoulder. Alyssea turned around, not exactly sure what to expect. She must've missed people coming in and out of the place while focusing on recalling information. In front of her was a blonde girl, someone Alyssea had never met before. Her face reminded her of a Sixth Year in Slytherin she saw around the place, but she looked younger than Sixth. Definitely not a Second Year because Alyssea hadn't seen her at the sorting last year. Was she sorted this year?

Nonetheless, Alyssea offered her a smile. "Hi. Do you need something?" She raised her tone at the end of the sentence in an attempt to sound less... pretentious? Was that the right word?

Did Alyssea look weird while studying? She must've, considering she wasn't sitting at the desk and, instead, hovering over her books as if someone else was sitting on the chair.
