Dancing on Your Own
The doors to the ballroom swung open, and Vales walked in, a rare show of confidence adorning her features. Dance was one of the only things that Vales knew that she was good at, and when she had heard about the ballroom, Vales had put that one her go-to list. And now, the was here. The ballroom was gorgeous, and Vales let out a sharp gasp as she looked around. Everything was so, so beautiful, and it was easily big enough to do ballet in.
Vales quickly took her robe off, her dance clothes underneath it. She had already put on her ballet shoes, and was almost ready. Vales did some fast stretches, just enough to get her muscles ready for the exercise she was about to do. It bothered her to no end when people assumed ballet wasn't a sport. She always wanted to scream at them, asking if they had ever tried to jump gracefully into the air, spread their legs as wide apart as humanly possible, and land gracefully, without as much as a wobble. It was one of the only subjects Vales got truly agitated at.
Vales calmly walked over to one of the corner's in the room, pressing a button, and watching beautiful music fill the room. She walked into the center of the room, beginning to dance. Vales started with a spin on the tips of her toes, before going for different kinds of leaps. At the beginning of the song, she was hyper-aware of her body, but as the song continued, Vales slowly lost herself in the dance, letting her body take control of her for a change.

Sorry for taking so long to reply! Hectic week.
Henry'd stumble into the room, half expecting the large door to be heavier than it was when he'd leant his weight against it. He was still adjusting to finding his way around the castlem which of course, was natural for first years. Henry had a secret inkling that even some of the upper years also get confused and lost from time to time. It didn't help that the staircases move- he'd gotten himself stuck on a random floor the other week and had to wander until a prefect found him and took him where he was meant to go.
Shutting the door behind him, he'd walk further into the room, quietly. He was dressed in a basic black shirt with leggings and slip-on vanns, which didn't give any indication towards his house but he was clearly a first year. His nerves were a dead give away if it wasn't for his boyish face and height showing his age. His eyes widened as he watched the female in the middle of the room dance. She was really good, he knew that, and it made him immedietly self-conscious at the fact that he only knew what his sisters made him learn. Plus, she looked so happy and content just dancing to herself. He'd hate to interrupt so for now he just stood watching her in amazement.

Oh, it's totally fine! Sorry for my kind of late response too!
Vales continued dancing, leaping and dancing around the room. At some point, Vales thought she heard the door to the ballroom open, but she ignored it, instead continuing dancing. It was probably her imagination anyways. As the last notes of the song drug out, the ravenclaw struck a final pose, her front leg extended into the air behind her.
She gave herself a small smile as she brought her foot back down, pushing a few strands of hair back into the ponytail that was on top of her head. Vales was proud of herself, as she was almost certain that she had forgotten about some of the moves she just did. Vales spun around, then let out a little yelp when she realized that indeed, a boy was behind her.
A huge blush immediately covered her cheeks, and Vales was trying her best to not freak out and run away.
"H-Hello." She said softly, "How..how long were you there for?"
Her confidence had all but disappeared, and she stared at the ground, embarrassed. She knew the boy from somewhere, although Vales couldn't remember his name, or where she had seen him before.

"Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. My mother always told me that I'd make a great assassin..Uh, I've not been here too long. You're- you're really good."
He'd rock back and forth on the pads of his feet, suddenly getting the awkward atmosphere that he had created. He wasn't the best with social situations, which was probably why he had just stood watching the girl dance.
"I didn't want to interrupt you, you were so into it." He'd blurt out after his comments, to make sure he didn't look like a creep. Henry was somewhat physically fit, having to walk everywhere at home due to lack of a car. He'd dabbled in most sports that his siblings had done, since they tended to come back and teach the others about it. Dancing had secretly been a favourite of his, but his other brothers had not been too interested in the dances such as ballet or balldancing, preferring hip hop or not dancing at all.
"I'm Henry. First year, Ravenclaw. You are too, right? I'm sure I've seen you in the common room- I'm not one to forget things." He'd inwardly chuckle to himself, Henry had an eidetic memory so of course he wasn't the type of person to forget what he's seen. It came in handy when it was in regards to having to remember his homework or things he needed to do; all he had to do to help himself remember was to see it written down.
