Pet Solo New pet, old memories

August 10th, 2023. Lucy, her best friend and his sister were on the Diagon's Alley, buying the girls' school furniture. Théo was going to Beauxbaton, so he'll buy his furniture in Paris. Each member of the trio was third-wheeling in their own way. Amélie was third-wheeling the best friends. Théo was third-wheeling the Hogwarts' students. And Lucy was third-wheeling the siblings. But it was a working trio. They had bought books, potion supplies, robes, capes and a wand. They had eaten ice cream.
As they were walking their way back to the Leaky Cauldron, Lucy stopped in front of the Magical Menagerie. When she asked her mother if she could get a pet, Sophie said "Only if you'll take care of it." So there she was, in front of the Menagerie while her friends were walking to the beginning of the street.
— Hey, guys! Can we go in here real quick?
The siblings turned around, Amélie nodded and the three of them entered the Magical Menagerie. Inside, cages, vivariums and aquariums were full of cats, rabbits, spiders, snakes, lizards, owls, goldfishes, ferrets and pigmy puffs, a wizard-made little creature. Amélie and Théo both had owls. And Lucy knew that Hogwarts had owls at the disposition of students. Her step-brother was allergic to cats - which was unfortunate since Lucy loved cats. But she wanted a lizard or a spider.
So the girl moved to the reptile section of the shop. Unlike Muggle menageries, the animals here had place to live. They were not put one on the other, squeezed up in a small cage. And Lucy was so happy to see this. Even if she was watching the lizards taking sunbathes on heated rocks, she could see her best friend approaching the glass wall. Like her, he loved reptiles.
When they were seven, they had found a lizard on one of the school's walls in recess. They had decided to try to keep him. It was a bit stupid looking back at it. Lucy had found a cardboard box and they had gently moved the lizard from the wall to the box. They didn't want the lizard - that they had called Lizzy - to die, so they had poked holes in at the top of the box with their pencils. At the end of the day, they went to Théo's house for an after-school snack but when they opened the box, Lizzy quickly escaped. After this, for a few weeks, a lizard was running across Théo's bedroom's ceiling from time to time.
— Remember Lizzy?
— Of course, how could I forget her?
— Don't you think that this one looks like her?
— Yeah, it does. I think I'm gonna get this one. And call it Lizzy if it's a female.
They both snorted at the memory of the lizard. A few minutes later, they all arrived at the Leaky Cauldron. Amélie had her school books in a paper bag. Lucy had all her school furniture in her enchanted stachel that she got for her birthday and was holding a large vivarium in her hands. The vivarium was decorated with sand and heated rocks to mimic the Australian desert.
When the three of them exited the pub, Lucy took her cellphone that she used only during vacation and called her father for him to come get the trio.
