Closed Is It Friendship?

Linda was walking around the castle and in every place she could. New studying year and she was happy to see her friends again.

She didn't realize she was in grounds until there was something that attracted her. Li looked at the tree. There was someone who made her focus on what was going on around.

After some minutes she understood there was a girl. Linda went closer to see what the girl was doing. As she came, she saw that girl was sleeping. Hi. I'm sorry to wake you up, but probably you should go to your room if you are tired. It's not good idea to sleep here.

Linda looked not worried and not angry. She just was curious and caring, even though she never saw this girl before. By the age, it looked like she might be first year.

Linda looked at the place that girl chose. It was really nice to be here. Hogwarts... This place felt like home. Her first year was quite awesome and she hoped to have great second year as well.

What were you reading? Linda returned her attention to the book the younger girl had. Li spent a lot of times in the library, but she didn't want to do it again. She was extravert but then why she was acting like introvert? She didn't know the answer.

Esme's eyes fluttered open with Linda's urging. She looked up at her and rubbed her eyes. She remained a little groggy and un-awake for a moment "Māmā, zǎoshang hǎo(Morning, mum)....Then Linda's voice sunk in and Esme realized she made a mistake. " I mean- sorry...I um.." She looked at the ground, wondering if Linda would laugh.

Same read her facial expression, by the looks of it, Linda wasn't angry she seemed very kind, so Esme decided to talk back to her. What to say...she felt awkward right about now, shaking her hair out and then looking back at Linda, taking in her expression and voice and everything she could.

"I'm reading...a small botany book, nothing too special." Though based on her care of the book, it really was something special. Esme looked a little shy, she wasn't afraid of Linda, just naturally not good with talking. "D..do you like botany?" She looked on with a small tilt of her head.

"It's really fun, honestly plants seem uninteresting until you really just get to know them, then you just appreciate them more and more, then you simply want to know more, just like I did, I think I might plant a private garden, or even just one plant....Rambling..." She sighed

It's okay. Linda smiled. She was wondering what made this girl so sleepy but decided to not ask.

Botany? Ah yeah, I see. I like herbology. I have plant in my room here and big garden in the backyard of my mansion back at home. She smiled. Previous year she took a plant from one greenhouse when professor was giving them to different students. It became so great now as she was keeping caring about it.

Do you have favorite plant? Linda sat down close to the girl and then looked away. Weather was good and she didn't feel cold. She could keep talking and talking about different things but now she wanted to know more about the girl.

After some minutes she realized she didn't introduce herself. I am Linda, second year, Gryffindor. What's your name? She was guessing that the girl was first year, but still she didn't know her name. Li looked at the girl again, smiling warmly while listening to her. She would need to find her besties later but now she was here enjoying her time.

This year was probably time when she would develop her skills and would develop herself. She for sure would leave something in her character without changing, but a lot of things would change.

Esme was engaged. "I like Dittany, so unique and vibrant, but I kinda like all life, all plants and all animals, everything is different and its just interesting to see how it all fits together, you know?" She twiddled her fingers nervously, her fingers interlocking and splitting up. "Nice to meet you, I'm Esme, first year and Hufflepuff." She was silent for a time, thinking, then she looked at Linda and asked. "What is the Gryffindor experience like? Is it fun there?" She wondered what it'd be like to be as brave as a Gryffindor, to be a lion instead of a badger. She'd never change, but it was always a thought in the back of her mind. "A lot of famous people we're in Gryffindor, its amazing really." Esme paused for her answer, rocking on her heels, she seemed to wear oversized clothing, her hands weren't visible sometimes, due to the sleeves passing her wrists, it was odd to say the least, but then again, Esme was a weird kid. "I have this friend, she says that house stereotypes aren't a good thing to go off of, I know everyone is different, but because I'm foreign..sorta, I didn't really know what to go off of, kinda stupid of me though."

Yeah, it's quite interesting. I like animals too. What's your favorite one? Linda smiled looking at the girl. She guessed that girl could know a lot about plants.

Welcome to Hogwarts, Esme. How's your experience so far? Esme. It was a nice name. Li looked at Esme intrigued by question. Experience in Gryffindor... She never thought about houses and their differences.

Ah yeah, it's quite fun. I guess every house has its own fun though. I like it where I am. I never thought about it much to be honest. I have friends in each house and they are all great people.

Most likely if you follow stereotypes about houses, you'll be avoiding all Slytherins. However, there are really great people there. So I would recommend you to not believe all stereotypes, everywhere you can find a friend.

Linda smiled. It was good to have friends from all houses and still they all had something in common. Or at least Linda was so lucky to not have bad experiences till now. She was wondering if she could have more friends from some houses though. That would be really great. Also that's okay. You know quite a lot even if some of it just stereotypes. It's interesting to talk to you.

Foreign? Oh that's cool. How was your moving here? I'm from England but I was traveling to Switzerland and Greece this summer.

Esme stroked her little chin. "I don't have a Favorite, they're all so great, you know." She took a little bit of time. "Maybe Nifflers right now, but I think it'll change at some point. That was the thing, sometimes she would like one thing, sometimes she would like other things, it never remained the same. "My experience is great, I can't complain really."

"I agree, I try to be a better person, no excuses." She says confidently, sue really didn't mean to hold a large group of people to one standard, diversity is everywhere, no matter the subject, there will be opposition.

"Interesting, really? Thank you, you're really fun, I'm glad I slept out here today." She had rosy cheeks, but out of happiness, she smiled modestly, maybe she was in a really good mood right now.
"Moving? It sucked at first, before then I wasn't bilingual, so I kinda parroted my parents until I got the hang of one sentence, then they taught me English officially, sometimes I wonder if I make mistakes in English." She seemed to be tasting her words right now, like she was checking them for errors of any sort, then she seemed satisfied and looked at Linda again.

Linda smiled while listening. Her favorite were dragons, but since Esme didn't ask her, she decided to not share it. They are really nice. It would be interesting if you would like some other more though.

It was very interesting to listen about girl been bilingual. She knew English and some other languages, but it all was not because of moving. It's just a form of hobby or necessary for traveling and having better understanding of locals.

Linda looked at Esme. She was interesting to be around. Girl sounded really interested in botany and just seemed to be really nice. Did you get new friends already if you don't mind me asking? It was just curious question, but she didn't mind if Esme didn't want to answer it.

She looked around and thought it would be nice to go to take her camera and take some photos. She didn't think about it previous year before end of April so now was her chance to have some autumn photos. But she couldn't just walk away now. Even though she changed a little during summer, she still didn't change this. She couldn't allow herself to be rude.

However, anytime else she would just offer to wait her a little and continue walking together while taking photos. But now she felt like she wanted to do it alone. Linda needed it, so she thought for a while how to say that better.

It's so nice here. I want to go to take my camera and take photos of places. It was really nice to meet you. If you want, we can meet later and I could show you photos if you are interested. And I wish you nice day, but try to not sleep here again, I don't think it's warm enough for it.

After saying that Linda stood up and started to go to the castle. They could go together to the castle if Esme wanted. Or she would go alone. Anyway she got the idea which she wanted to do really much.
