Hex The Sneezing Hex old

Koko laughed darkly to herself. She had a plan to master this spell. Of course, she wouldn’t be so horrible as to try it on the teacher, but she might as well try it on a too-kind, unsuspecting Hufflepuff girl, sitting in the corner puzzling the incantation out. Koko was pretty sure she had the incantation memorized. “Steleus,” she whispered, and the word carried perfectly with her English accent.
Down, then an outward flick towards your partner. Koko practiced the movement for a while until her wrists started aching, and then she stopped. “Steleus,” she breathed again. Koko started repeating the incantation until she realized that she had a dark undertone in her voice, so she stopped and thought of a happy memory with her adoptive father, Victor Wreath.

Koko suddenly had a wave of deep and utter sadness roll onto her. She knew it wasn’t her sadness, so she looked around the room to try to find out just who it belonged to. She then saw the same girl she would later be aiming for sniffling and sneezing at the same time.  The sneezing effects ended, and the girl cried, and Koko could tell it was because the girl had gotten hit with the spell. Koko grinned darkly.

Pointing her wand at the poor girl, she waved it down, flicked it outwards, and simultaneously said, “Steleus!”
Professor Edit: (Will insert RP response at a later date, but I am simply validating this so you have the spell.) Steleus learned.

Another spell. This time the sneezing hex. Sapphire grinned and looked around the room. A poor, trusting Hufflepuff girl had obviously been hit, since she was sneezing and sniffling like crazy. She glanced around again and saw a Ravenclaw kid acting like his hands were glued to his book. Nerd, she thought, and her doubt jumped in. You're one to speak, it said. It was right. She almost always had a book in her hands. She practiced the movement the professor had taught them, down, then flick towards your partner, until her wrist ached like hell. Steleus, she thought. A malicious plan was forming in her mind. She would hex that Ravenclaw practically glued to the book. She looked around another time with a dark glint in her glowing blue eyes. She shifted in her seat and wrote something quick in her journal. My second spell. Seriously, this is going to be one of my easiest plots ever! And better yet, no one suspects a thing! She looked up at the Ravenclaw kid and gripped her wand so hard, her already pale knuckles turned white. Down, then flick towards your partner, she thought as she loosened her grip and did the movement exactly like the professor had showed her and whispered, “Steleus!”

Hex The Sneezing Hex old
An optional class was offered to the children, Ophelia's interests sparked when hearing they would be leaning a new spell. So she showed up, stepping into the classroom only to see there were no tables, only dummies. The teacher greeted them a good morning as she always did, introducing the class to sneezing hex. Ophelia heard about it from a book, a useful spell for distraction, it did indeed lift her slightly-frowned eyebrows a little.

Professor first showed the simple wand movement, blue gaze followed with focus as pale hands pulled out her chestnut wand, trying to repeat the woman's gestures. Then, an incantation of the spell followed, word 'STE-lee-us' mumbled from one's lips as she observed the professor's next movement. Turning towards a dummy, she cast the spell with confidence as green rings escaped from her also-chestnut wand, erupting towards the dummy. Nothing happened. Ophelia understood the dummy can't sneeze of course, so she expected the explanation that soon followed from the professor's lips.

Told to divide into groups, a cheerful boy hopped towards her, red curls reflecting the golden light with warmth, gray eyes sparkled with excitement. Introducing himself as Lucas from Slytherin, the girl's mind was slightly stopped as she remembered about her Muggle best friend Lukas. He never knew the pureblood girl was a wizard, simply thinking her school was far away. She missed him indeed but always took time to hang out with him when visiting her father on school's breaks. Snapping out of her thoughts, the boy spoke to her again with kindness. Ophelia was never stereotypical, never judged one's personality by their house but this must have been the most charming Slytherin she had met so far. With this thought, lips couldn't help but form a tiny smile.

They went over the spell together a few times, practicing gestures and fixing the pronunciation to perfection, as they decided it is time to test it out. Lucas offered himself to be the target first, girl nodded as blue vision focused on the ginger, wand moving, lips saying the hex:
"STE-lee-us!"

Taking extra classes seemed like a waste. After all Artus could learn in his free time aswell. Learning a spell was more complicated though. As such he listened to the professor, as she was explaining the hex. Despite that, Artus already knew of the effect, movement and the word that needed to be spoken. Taking the class wasen't a total waste of time, was what he soon realized. A quick downward motion, outward toward the intended target. Just as he remembered, but the pronunciation surprised him. This focus at the start was rather unexpected. "Very well then." he said with a low voice. Following this little comment, he searched for a partner. It was...amusing to see others fail the casting. There were some who mastered the spell quickly amongst the students...and he would be one of them, he thought. After some time he found an lonely ravenclaw student.

Artus and the other student quickly discovered a place to practice. Although none of the two were too exited, when it came to being hit by the spell, but the ravenclaw volunteered for that "job". He didn't want to fail the spell apparently. With that settled, Artus prepared the spell. He repeated the pronunciation in his head once: STE-lee-us. Now having a small grin on his face he asked the ravenclaw. "Are you ready?" The ravenclaw noded quickly. " Very well...then I will start. STE-lee-us left his lips a moment later. This word was accompanied by the right movement of his wand. A quick downward motion, outward toward the intended target. He saw how the green rings escaped his wand, flying towards the other student. But would the hex have its effect?

It was winter break and Dawn finally had someone to practice the Sneezing Hex, Steleus, on. Her little sister Merrie. Her family had come to visit for the winter and Merrie wanted to be shown a spell. "Okay! Lets do this thing!" Dawn cried.

The first step to casting a new spell, repeat the incantation in my head, Dawn thought. Ste-le-us, Steleus. Okay I've got it. "Steleus?" Merrie piped up. Ahhh! the child can read my mind. How else would she know Steleus? "That's right, Steleus, the Sneezing Hex, that's what I'm casting on you, Merrie." "Steleus, cool." "Ready?" "Yup"

Before Dawn cast the spell, she made sure the professor in charge of teaching the spell was watching. "Okay. Steleus!" A spark of light. No sneezing. Again. "Steleus!" A brighter light. Still no sneezing. One last time before I give up. "Steleus!" A super bright light. Sneezing! Finally "Finally" From now on Dawn threatened her siblings with the Sneezing Hex.

50 years later...

Dawn Riley, much changed from the timid first year who first practiced the Sneezing Hex, Steleus, was  walking up the steps to her sister, Merrie's, cottage. While Dawn was a witch, her other siblings, Merrie being one of them, weren't. Dawn was ver excited to see her Sister, Merrie, Merrie's husband, Jonathan, and their two kids, Dawns neices, Elizabeth and Lily. Elizabeth was 15 and Lily was 13. If they misbehaved, Dawn would threaten them with Steleus, the Sneezing Hex, just like she did with her little siblings when they were kids. Steleus was now one of Dawn's best spells.
Professor Edit: You have not learned Steleus.
In the RP lesson threads you need to write an RP of your attempts at the spell during the lesson described in the Professor's opening post. Also, families do not visit Hogwarts during the breaks.
If you still want to learn the spell please write a new post for this thread.

Hex The Sneezing Hex old
After listening to Professor Risa’s lecture, Andrew was eager to give the Sneezing Hex a try. Until he could cast the hex one time successfully, Andrew reasoned it wouldn’t make much sense for him to practice on himself, since observing the spell’s effects on another person would likely be more beneficial to his knowledge. Fortunately, he paired with a fellow student who, likewise, didn’t mind being a guinea pig at the mercy of another’s wand, for today’s lesson.

Andrew was willing to cast the spell first. After reciting the incantation a few times in his head, and practicing the wand movement separately, he then distanced himself a few feet, facing his partner.

Andrew pulled out his wand from his robes, readying his stance. “Steleus!(“STÉ-lee-us”) He said in a commanding tone, while simultaneously flicking the tip of his wand in a downward motion, pointing outward towards his partner.

Green rings came forth from the tip of Andrew’s wand, hitting his partner in the face. Andrew could only watch as his partner began to sneeze repeatedly without ceasing. Andrew couldn’t help but giggle at the amusing sight, although his expression was slightly abashed, in partial sympathy towards his partner’s discomfort.

Are you alright?” Andrew asked, as the sneezing effect wore off and his partner regained their composure. Once his partner had recovered, the two of them switched places.

Andrew braced himself for impact as a puff of green rings hit him in the face, forcing him to sneeze. Over and over again. No amount of mental effort could resist him from doing so. He feared what might happen if he tried to pinch his nose shut with his fingers, to plug the sneeze from escaping. He’d probably end up blowing his brains through his ears…

In the end, whatever discomfort he experienced was quickly forgotten, once those brief few seconds had lapsed and the hex wore off. Andrew waited in anticipation for the professor’s evaluation regarding his performance.

River entered the History of Magic class room hastily, as she was nearly running late. Luckily, the class didn’t seem to have started yet, as she slowed to a halt, next to a slytherin boy with dark brown hair.

Extra classes was something River was always interested in attending. She wanted to learn as much as she possibly could during her time at hogwarts. Usually, what was taught in the classes would often come in very handy later.

Steleus, that was a spell River was familiar with, after skimming through books upon books about hexes and other spells. A slight smile crept up on her face as she listened to the professor explain the spell. It seemed like an easy task, but usually, it would be harder than one might imagine to actually cast. Still, River was determined to manage it.

After they were instructed to pair up and attempt the spell, River turned to the boy next to her. «Want to team up?», she asked. The boy turned to look at her, «Sure, why not», he answered, and shrugged his shoulders.
«Great, I’ll go first then, if that’s okay?», River said, and took a few steps back. Without waiting for him to say anything, she aimed her wand, and attempted the spell. «Steleus! (STE-lee-us)», she moved her wand in a downward flick, out towards the boy. River had absolutely not expected to get in on the first try, as spells usually didn’t click too well with her. Still, green rings appeared, moving out toward the slytherin. Apparently, her focus was in the right place today and her previous reading of the hex might have made it easier. As the rings hit him, he instantly begun sneezing. A smile appeared on River’s face, «You alright?», she asked, as he stopped sneezing. He nodded back, without saying a word, he aimed his wand for her, and River expected it was her turn to sneeze.
