HufflerinIt was indeed the tenth of September, a new year had started, and thus once more, Tristan was back at Hogwarts. The Gobstones tournament had been a success last year and thus he had started it up again once more. As such, this was another competition, Hannah, who had won on a technicality last year, and Mari Alves, a new member. The club was strong with over fifteen members and growing including himself. Perhaps, soon enough, the Gobstones team could become official, and the game could be a competition between houses. However, for now they would have to be content with such a game of fun. Having notified the two youngest players of their match, he came to the appointed area and carefully set up the ring along with the seven gobstones on the ring. In addition he portioned out the eight stones belonging to each of the players to throw. He then placed a sheet with the rules down next to each player, just in case the two were not familiar with the game. He then announced, “Hannah Blossom, Mari Alves, welcome to your first slash second match as part of the Gobstone Club! How are you? My name is Tristan and I will be your moderator for today! Hannah, nice to see you again. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me while we play. Also, if I catch you cheating, you will lose a turn so please do not do so. I’ll explain a few of the game mechanics now. As you see, there are eight gobstones to throw and seven already set up in the rings. The object of the game is to knock your opponent’s stones off the board. Whoever has the most stones left after the eight throws wins! Hope this explains it for ya, Mari, as for you Hannah, I’m sure it was a bit repetitive. I wish you good luck! And of course, make sure to have fun!”OOC Rules

Alright, gobstones. Hannah had won her last match, she hoped for the same thing this time. However, she had won on a technicality, since her opponent, Alora, quit, midgame. Hannah did wish she didn't quit, so it would be more fair, and Alora was winning.
She heard with no interest Tristan's words, but he said this every match, well at least the matches she'd played. He probably only said those words because her opponent was new to the club.
The girl she'd be playing against was a Slytherin, and a Quidditch Player, like Hannah. She didn't know this girl, but as she also played Quidditch, Hannah knew a little bit about her opponent. The girl was excited for her second match.
Let's do this. thought the scarlet haired girl. "Good luck." she said to Mari as she grinned. The girl looked at her Gobstones to throw. She grabbed one of them and looked at it.
It was her turn. She picked The Careful Throw to start the game. Come on, knock out her Gobstone! she thought. Then it was Mari's turn. Hannah hoped she wouldn't succeed in knocking out one of her own Gobstones. If she did, though, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Mari was a little nervous having never been to a gobstone game before, but she was eager to get started as she didn't sign up to the club to "look at nothing", what Mari wanted was exactly that, apparently her opponent, " Hannah Blossom" would have already won a match, but that wasn't why Mari wouldn't be confident of winning!
Mari was very attentive to Tristan's explanation, attentive to every detail, already thinking about their game strategies "Besides, if I catch you cheating, you'll lose your turn, so please don't do that" Tristan said, Mari wouldn't obviously cheat ( at least... not on the first playthrough!
)
Her opponent "Hannah Blossom" was a Quidditch player, as was Mari. Mari didn't know this girl, not in Quidditch, not in the halls of Hogwarts! But the girl looked confident (just like Mari), she looked like a worthy opponent! (Happily!)
Ok, let's go!Thought Mari! "Good luck." Hannah said, Mari nodded. Mari took a deep breath and picked up one of her gobstones "Don't let me down PLEASE! Murmured Mari!
Mari chose "The launch of care", let's see how it goes....[ I hope it works out, but if it doesn't...it's not the end of the world either...)

The first round had begun a simple yet interesting round. Tristan was not particularly partial to any of the members of the match, although it would be a fascinating twist of fate if Hannah Blossom won once more due to extenuating circumstances once more. It would be something of a lifetime, something that some might believe was guided by the gods. Tristan was the moderator, however, and he would of course never apply his opinions to the moderation of a match. It was simply a matter of objective judgement, which Tristan was very apt to do. He was of course the perfect example of cold objectiveness after all. He had spent years without displaying any emotion after all. His eyes flickered quickly onto the two opponents. A badger versus a snake, an interesting match of course, but an amicable one. They were good sports with each other, wishing one another good luck, then beginning their throws one after another. Tristan smirked as he waited for the results of the throws, it was split second wait of course, but his reaction and observation abilities were quite above the skills of the goldfish, thus he witnessed the situation clearly and slowly. They both threw their stones carefully, a logical move as a first decision. Their logic was equal and equally successful. Each of their stones knocked the other's stone out of the ring, marking each other as a tie. Each marking the other person as equal. Tristan cocked his head, his predatory nature flickering in and out of his gaze. He was a high-functioning sociopath to the rest of the world, except those who truly knew him. He nodded announcing clearly, "Your throws are equally successful and you have marked each other as equal players. As such whoever would like to throw first may go." He smiled predatorily, hoping to scare the players. He was a fifth year and these were but tiny little mewling kittens. This was all a character he was playing though, truly, he had nothing against the kids. He had begun to truly love the innocence of young children after all.OOC Rules

Mari realized that she had managed to successfully knock down her opponent's boulder, but it didn't take long to realize that the girl had also managed to knock Mari's down!
But even so, Mari couldn't help but let out a small smile when she saw that she did well on the first throw.
The two girls were tied, and Mari wasn't very sure of her next throw, she would have to take a decisive step in the hope of not going wrong for Mari's side, without a doubt Mari would do everything to come out victorious, so the time of Mari to choose what her next release would be.
Soon after, Mari already knew which throw she was going to use, even though it wasn't the last move, every game was important at the end of the day!
Mari looked at Hannah with a calculating look as she wondered what her next move would be.She was extremely confident in winning this duel, she didn't like losing at all, and winning in her first duel would be... very pleasurable for Mari
Mari had already decided which move to use, she ended up opting for the "classic throw" Mari's nerves already felt improved, even though she was still confined since her first throw,"Let's do this!" Mari says as he throws his next rock.

The girls were now tied. Hannah left a small grin escape. Mari seemed to smile as well. This was going well, so far. Hannah hoped the game would continue this way, but even if she lost, the goal was to have fun, wasn't it?
She wasn't quite sure of what move to choose, but she then observed as Mari opted for the classic throw. Hannah didn't want to "copy her", so she decided to choose a different move from the brunette haired girl. The classic throw also seemed too simple for Hannah.
The scarlet haired girl knew which move to choose this time, unlike the last time. She also did not want to choose the same move from the last time, so she opted for the conscious throw. The game so far was a tie, so she hoped to get a lead. It would be nice to get a head start, so she really did hoped to do so. She would feel better, and much more confident.
The girl carefully picked one of her many gobstones, and then took three deep breaths. I can do this. Hannah knew that she could and would knock a gobstone of Mari's. She smirked, and then threw the gobstone she had picked.

The two girls were tied at the moment. The game could go either way. Tristan was unemotional and silent as he carefully observed the behaviour of the two second years. He was sternly beautiful and still as a perfect statue, perhaps as beautiful as a model in the way he carefully watched and discerned the possible thoughts and future actions of the two competitors. Tristan, of course, would hope for a greater opportunity to see a game that was less tied and had a more differing result but so far this game was going well. Tristan saw Mari look at Hannah with a calculating look and say, “Let’s do this!” The gobstone was thrown by her quickly and perfectly as it hit Hannah’s stone and knocked it off. On the other hand, Hannah threw her stone consciously, although it seemed to be a great throw, the stone did not hit Mari’s stone off the ring because it was not strong enough. The stone missed sadly and landed a little behind the stone that Hannah had aimed for. Tristan wrote down the results and announced it to the the two younger girls, “The tie has been broken and Mark is in the lead. Good luck and the next round commences with 5 stones on Hannah’s end in the ring and six stones on Mari’s end.

Mari was quite confident for this round, surprisingly a little more than in the first, after throwing her ball she sees it quickly knocking Hanna down, "That's it!" Mari said softly, crouching down one little to see if Hanna would get it right with Mari " Don't get it right..." He thought, the game wouldn't end so soon with a victory for Mari, but at least she already had a good advantage
Hanna throws the rock and misses Mari, Mari looks at Hanna smiling mischievously and whispers "Yes!" , she was very happy to have won that round and just hoped she could win the next one, so she thought carefully about what her next move would be, she was quite indecisive mainly because if she made a mistake, she would lose the small advantage she had obtained, but she chose to choose the only one move that still needed to be thrown by Mari, the only one she hadn't touched yet, let's go to..."The Conscious Throw", she thought as she touched her next stone, she didn't want to cheat yet, especially while she was winning so she chose for choosing a move, but who knows later.... having said that she took a deep breath and played carefully let's go, I can do it she said throwing her stone
