Reuben watched carefully as a coin was tossed to decide who the Itter would be. It landed on Tone. As Tone started running, Reuben ran in the other direction, hoping that Tone would not be chasing him.
After a while, as his legs started aching, he hid behind a bush, taking deep breaths. He stayed that way for a few minutes before getting up and running again, keeping a keen eye on Tone and the others. He ran in all different directions, remembering all his troubles, and letting them all out as he ran.
Summer Camp would be over soon, and Reuben had never thought that he might actually miss being away from home. He realized how good and cool the weather was at Hogwarts, unlike the weather at Uagadou where the ground felt like fire during the summers. He would miss running barefoot on the wet grass.
Reuben sighed to himself. He wished Uagadou had this weather. Don't get him wrong, he loved Uagadou more than any other school in the world, but he really, really wished that the weather could be same everywhere on the Earth, and that he didn't have to feel like someone had put him on a really hot pan every time he stepped outside.

Honestly, Ava was glad she hadn't been selected. She would've been a terrible itter, as well as too weak to catch anyone. So she got into a good position to start sprinting, listened to the count down and took off across the grounds, presumably to find somewhere to hide. Although it wasn't hide and seek she could still hide and not be tagged. Maybe if she found a tree she could climb onto one of the lower branches, low enough that she could jump off but not so low that she would be spotted or easy to tag.
Ava kept on running, starting to sweat in the summer heat. It wasn't unbearable but running in it sure wasn't fun. She tried to stay away from the other runners, so that she wasn't an easy target. Trying to stick with someone during the game would get her tagged, and would prefer to be one of the people who didn't get tagged.
She hadn't found anywhere good to stay, but she couldn't see the itter so she slowed to a stop to catch her breath. Apparently hanging out more with @Oliver Brown was paying off, because she didn't feel as tired as she had expected to. Point for team Ava-Oli! She blushed as she realized what she had just thought and quickly chided herself. No, they weren't a team, they were just friends. Just friends. To punish herself for such betraying thoughts, she stood up and took off again.[/color]

Tone had always liked games of tag, he'd done them on a regular basis back at Mahoutokoro. But then again, he'd done them everywhere he'd been to. Not just back at school. One might say he was a natural at being a tagger. After all, with enough persistence, determination and patience, it was how he'd gotten most of his friends. As time passed and the game went on, Tone continued to have fun, whether he was a tagger or not. At long last, things came to an end and he let his eyes flicker over the players. "Thanks for playing the game with me everyone! Also, thanks for putting this event together, Estelle!" Tone let his eyes flicker over those present. Maybe he could get their addresses so they could stay in touch later on. But they all seemed a bit worn out, he'd track them down later on and get them. It didn't have to be right now, there was still enough time left during the summer to find them all later. And if there was something he was really good at, it was finding people. "I'll see you all later on! We should get together again sometime this summer!" Tone told them all. It would be fun to make them his friends. He was always on the lookout for new friends. And these people seemed to be nice. Reuben was already his friend and he hoped the rest would be too. |
