His wand went flying from his hand. Crashing into the ground with a tiny clank of wood on stone and disappearing into the magical fog hell of his own creation. “Crap.

No no no-! He cursed quietly, shoving away a few odd pieces of metal and festive decor scattered about near his feet as quietly as he could while ducking through the fog, eyes torn between the floor and the direction he could distantly hear Elena talking past the blood rushing though his ears. He couldn’t just leave though! Not without his wand! He’d be a dead man if she found it, but he’d be dead AND stuck with detention if he had to come clean to a teacher about why she had it just to get his wand back.

Of all the times to lose my stuff-

His fingers curled around his wand and with a triumphant grin he held it up, stepping back to make a run for it just as something loud, and heavy painfully, quite painfully he was definitely gonna feel that later, slammed into his side holding the wand, sending the wand flailing into the thinning mist further away.

Oh C’MON!

The armor, because it was armor, one of Hogwarts own charming knights apparently came to life in a violently festive jig in what was possibly one of the most aggressive & might he point out one-sided dance battles in Hogwarts history.

He understood, he was quite the catch, probably made the most dashing figure in his previously tinsel and bell covered armor but he’d moved on. Couldn’t the dancing armor see? He wasn’t that knight anymore, it was time to move on. Elsian was sure there were plenty of other nice suits of armor dying to have dance battles to first blood with.

Sadly there was no way to convey this and Elsian was instead left to flee instead, yelping and stumbling as he dodged and tripped over strewn about decor from the little fight they’d begun previously. He stumbled into another suit of armor, yelling in surprise when the dancing knight turned to seemingly follow his path and promptly tried to crush him between the two in a mad whirl of dancing metal limbs that threatened to stamp his toes into oblivion, “sto-!” it crushed him into the other metal that forced a choked wheeze out of the boy as he shoved and attempted to flail his way to freedom, “stop it!

He gave one last shove, staggering away with a hiss and scrambling away. But that way too easy, peace wouldn’t last as the suit once again seemed to find its way back on the warpath towards him. Which wasn’t fair. How did it even know?! That wasn’t even how that spell worked was it? What was this blatantly rigged witchcraft!

His knees hit the ground hard as he dodged out of the way, glaring at the armor as if daring it to suddenly again hunt him down. And when it did, whether through the work of magic or just plain random chance, the look twisted into a deeply offended look.

Because he was offended. How dare.

As it danced its way into a charge Elsian threw himself to the side, smacking into hard stone with a pained groan, barely dodging the hefty weight of a dancing knight by the skin of his teeth. “Not sure I like my dance partner.” He grumbled, reluctantly finding the humor in his own plight as the knight danced its way further into the fog and out of sight. The Gryffindor didn’t much fancy slamming into walls, witty banter aside, but he seemed to have accidentally made a habit of it when it came to these mini ‘adventures’. The future bruises proved a fair price to pay though with the sight of familiar mayhaw wood laying innocently on the floor, and the boy was quick to snatch up the wand.

Must be a bad dancer,” he shot back mockingly, blindly eyeing where he’d heard Elena cast her spell, “making others dance for you. Scared you’ll trip?

Obviously just running wasn’t working out great, he needed more of an edge on the older Gryffindor or he risked her just hunting him down and hexing him while his back was turned. Nothing bad per say, just enough to slow her down! Quietly he stepped further behind a standing armor, away from where he’d last been and waited, not too keen on randomly shouting spells at a target he couldn’t see. Not when she had the devil's luck and the boldness to match. So he waited, waited just long enough to see her through the fog and immediately stepped out from behind his cover to clearly train his wand on her. Maybe a blindfold would do nicely? “Obscuro!

But no-

No, that wouldn’t be enough. Something more, something like…

Not even a breath later he readied another spell, unbothered with even making sure the spell had worked through the fog. If it had wonderful! If not…well all the more reason for another spell.

Petrificus Total-!” The words were cut off from the force of what was becoming a familiar enemy crashed through the mist and into his back in a show of alarming force from what was basically a frenzy of dancing. A yell, that quickly developed into a surprised shriek when the knight seemed to finally lose its balance, and in turn fell atop Elsian, shoving the boy forward a few steps towards Elena and into what would be a painful topple as he tripped and scrambled for something to stop his fall.

But there was nothing. Nothing but smooth stone and air and the strewn about remains of fallen armor stands and tinsel all around their feet and Elena-

Elena who was right there. Whos arm he was automatically grabbing onto as the weight of the armor pushed against his legs and he fell hard. Crashing to the ground in a heap of metal with a groan of pain.

@Elsian Cox
Had she expected the spell to work? In truth, it had been a shot in the dark but when the metallic warrior had jolted to life in pursuit of Elsian Cox, Elena Jangleton didn't think she had seen a more beautiful sight in her life. "Not so fun when you're on the recieving end, is it?" The brunette called out after him as she walked in the armor's wake carving it's way in a deadly manhunt towards him that had him on a run for dear life.

Actions had consequences, it was a very simple life lesson that Elena Jangleton was teaching but she had a feeling he was more concerned about putting as much distance as humanely possible between him rather than stopping to ponder about how he had wound up in this situation.

Elena knew how they had wound up in this situation. He had wound up because he held a knack for disrupting the serenity of Hogwarts and the Gryffindor was going to take it upon herselves to remind him that it would be no easy feat, not anymore but he was more than welcome to try.

"I dance just fine. " She fired back in the direction of his voice, her wand cutting through the air in a threatening manner as her eyes scanned for her prey. "Besides, I think you have more pressing issues at the moment to take into consideration."

He had the gall to try to blindfold her? A desperate attempt perhaps to stall her as the girl ducked, the incantion just misisng her. He had gotten lucky more than once but everyone's luck had a limit and she had a feeling his was dwindling to a end.

She tensed when she heard him began to rattle off something else before he was greeted with the arrival of her metallic warrior but then from there, everything seemed to backfire like it usually did when he was concerned.

His figured seemed to loom out of the fog bearing down on her. "What are yo-?"

The sentence was barely out of her mouth as he grabbed onto her as the weight of the armor combined with him took Elena with them, all of them in a jumbled heap onto the ground in a great, big crash before silence fell.

Silence that was broken when she spoke again. "You have exactly three seconds to get off me and make yourselves scarce and after that, Merlin help you."

The clatter of metal and festive bells led to much clatter, filling the air with the sharp metal cling against solid stone floors. It was painful. Terribly so, especially with his original shell of festive armor long gone in his failed attempts to escape the terror that was an angry Elena. Because oh how he’d pushed her too far. The Gryffindor supposed even something as hilarious and lighthearted as what he’d been previously doing were bound to get onto the others' nerves.

She didn’t appreciate his genius after all. Just couldn’t seem to understand how wonderful his carefully, sometimes that was, plans truly were in the name of creative curiosity and the pursuit of flights of fancy.

Ah, but yes in this particular moment, half crumpled atop the other in a heap of metal and decor he could see the errors of his ways! And just how truly kind Elena was, bless her heart, apparently there were such things as Christmas miracles after all!

Because 3 seconds? He could do that.

That sounded great.” He stumbled, rolling off the other Gryffindor and practically throwing himself away from the other as he snatched up his wand and for good measure the holiday hat he’d brought along that’d somehow come loose from the original helmet and plopped it atop his messy hair. “Fine and dandy really, very fair too.

That was at least 2 seconds of his 3. Or maybe he’d used it all up already?

He didn’t know. Couldn’t be sure. Didn’t dare to ask.

Merry Christmas, or happy holidays? This was great, glad to catch up, let's not do this again.” He stumbled away, quickly ducking around a corner with only his head peeking out and the small wave of his hand at Elena to go with his words. “I’ll go now? Yeah, I’ll go. Bye!

He ran, the jingle of bells following his wake and pleased laughter bubbling in his throat as he all but fled for his life because somehow, he’d survived once again.

What do ya know. Miracles really did happen!
