Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart (Khalil Gibran)
Maverick was feeling okay-ish. The only thing he looked forward to in May is the lovely warm weather and the blooming flowers; not that he was one sentimental soul of course, nor was he a nature enthusiast, but somehow it often brought him good mood. The other positive thing was that the end of academic year break was approaching (even though it had a negative effect as well, which was known as end of term exams).
Either way, he did not feel bad this afternoon. In fact, he was energetic enough that it drove the want to practise his combative spells. Maverick might not be on the Gryffindor duelling team yet, but he was not it did not mean he would never be. He may as well start considering having a regular practice session every weekend.
However, his intention for the day grew weak as he noticed the practice room was occupied. The part-Veela was not sure he did not mind sharing the place, in particular when he was not confident about his duelling ability yet. He weighed the options of staying and leaving, and finally settled on the first. When the person left, he would use the room to his heart's content. If they were to ask why he was lurking, he would tell them he was waiting for someone to show up.

The world is in despair not because there are many bad people, but because there are many good people who do nothing.

You, Go to the Papers?
OOC note : All of Pea's word and action are all 100% for the purpose of her character- please don't take anything to heart. >.<
The white-haired girl is back at it again in the smoke scented room of the dueling club. She is alone, muttering on her own, just constantly repeating all the dueling spells she has learned. And once in a while, her wand will shoot out a bright explosion of color. The wooden vibration grazed her finger that gives her a slight shudder. She has been dueling for a while now, but that sensation when her wand manages to blast off another spell still gives her an excitement she only gets from dueling. Once in a while, she would also cast a spell on the armored suit dummy. A noisy clang filled the room as the spell hit the metallic armor. It was a feeling that she have been waiting, for a whole day.
After a while, the young Slytherin eventually got lost in her own thoughts. Spell hitting the enchanted stone wall and the big metallic dummy around the place. But her mind was running into another type of chaos. Worrying about all the things she has been taxing about in her mind. Whether it was her looks, her grades, or her possible relationships that she have lost.
But- of course, her peaceful time is interrupted. Ugh.
An annoying little bugger of a first-year came in from the oak door. Pea stop in her step, caught herself almost pointing her wand at the first year boy standing at the door. She sighed hard, and swipe her hair from her shoulder sassily. But before she goes back to her stance to continue her practice, she glance at the boy again. Hm- perhaps he looks a little familiar, isn’t he someone who wrote for the headliners? Pea thought for one second, before her steps already leading her to come closer to the first year Gryffindor.
“Hey.” Pea greeted, a little nicer than her usual demeanor, but still with her slightly narcissistic tone. “You wrote on the headliners didn’t you?” The white haired continue to ask, she have been wanting to meet one of these nerd writers before but they all always act like they are so busy.

Maverick glanced ever so slightly when the other person in the room made a surprising move. But she did nothing specifically directed toward him, nor did she say a word, but rather swiping her hair back.
The first year secretly judging her movement as unpleasant; and he disliked her hair as well, too pale in colour for him, cut in a style he found overrated. He would much prefer bob-haired girls, and those with pixie cut. But his lips were sealed.
The two did not interact, at least not verbally. It was not long, however, before the elder pupil broke the silence: she, apparently, recognised him as a part of the school newspaper's reporter team. Usually, the young Gryffindor would take pleasure at such recognition, but today something held him back. He knew the reason perfectly well, and it was because he did not like her tone; for Maverick, it was a tone used to imply that the speaker knew someone, but not in a very positive light.
Whereas inwardly he sighed, the part-Veela decided that he may be able to actually impress the teen somehow. Therefore, instead of being antagonistic, he flashed his self-dubbed 'prince smile', the one he had practised multiple times in front of a mirror until he got the effect that he desired. "Yep, that's me," he answered pleasantly, like a Hollywood actor at an interview. "And you are?"
