A Hurt Shoulder
Arielle walked into the hospital wing, grimacing and rubbing her shoulder, which ached like someone had put a hex on it. It had started hurting a few days ago, after in dinner, and had been preventing her from falling asleep. She found the school nurse at the back of the hospital wing and told the nurse her story. The nurse looked at her shoulder and saw instantly what Arielle's eyes didn't see: that something was visibly wrong with her shoulder. The nurse told her that she had pulled a muscle in her shoulder, and she also had a slight cold. About one hour later, steaming at the ears after drinking a potion that was very spicy, and a more mellow - tasting medicine, her arm feeling like something was moving inside of it, she begged the nurse to let her go, but with no avail: the nurse told her that she could get schoolwork, but she had to return as soon as possible. She ran up to Ravenclaw tower, only to be stumped by the riddle, and ran back to the hospital wing, bored and disgruntled, hoping that someone would come to visit her. She begged the nurse to take away the curtains, which the nurse did oblige, though the nurse forced her to drink more tea.

A Hurt Shoulder
Madeleine slowly made her way to the Hospital Wing. No, she wasn't injured. But after visiting with the matron once, the Ravenclaw learned that she contained some information that wasn't often found in books. So, Madeleine found herself visiting once or twice each week to question the matron on healing techniques and their subtleties.
Madeleine herself knew some remedies that originated from old wives' tales that her mother seemed to put too much faith in. Coming from a small Muggle village, Madeleine did not have much knowledge of the world outside of western Wales. Sure, she'd visited the National Library of Wales, as that was only half an hour away by car, but she'd never really been anywhere that she considered notable. That is, until now.
Hogwarts was one of the most magnificent places that Madeleine had ever seen. She wished that she could tell all her friends back home about it. Sadly, she couldn't.
Walking into the Hospital Wing, Madeleine noticed that there were a few beds which weren't surrounded by curtains. She scanned the main room for the matron, but her eyes instead fell on the royal blue trim of Ravenclaw robes. Observing the person in the robes, Madeleine noticed that their occupant looked young, like her.
It can't hurt to try to get to know a fellow Ravenclaw, thought Madeleine. Taking a deep breath in and squaring her shoulders, she walked over to the girl in the hospital bed.
"Hello. I'm Madeleine. What's your name?"

A Hurt Shoulder
Arielle jolted upwards in excitement. The hospital wing had been barren: it was a school day, so there were few injuries. But Arielle had heard footsteps. Peeking around the other bed's curtains, Arielle listened to the creak of a heavy door, the hospital wing door. She saw a Ravenclaw girl with long, brown hair and blue eyes, who strangely, looked perfectly healthy. She wasn't staggering in the hospital wing coughing, and none of her limbs seemed broken. She really is pretty, Arielle though. Rubbing her shoulder, Arielle sat up straighter. The girl walked around the hospital wing, looking for someone. The nurse wasn't here, but she was a few minutes ago. She would probably be back soon. Arielle pondered the reason why the girl was here if she wasn't hurt. Could she be trying to get the nurse to come to aid a hurt friend? It was still lesson time, though. How could anybody get seriously injured in class? Thinking of it, Arielle wondered why the girl wasn't in lessons. It was nearing the end of the school day, though. Could it be possible that her last class had let out early? Or that she hadn't started classes yet, like Arielle?
The girl made her way over to Arielle. "Hello. I'm Madeline. What's your name?" Madeline asked.
"My name is Arielle. It's nice to meet you. I was curious, what brings you to the hospital wing? You don't look hurt."

Madeleine looked over the girl, Arielle. "Your name is proper lush. I like it," she said, smiling. Then she began to ponder how she would answer Arielle's question.
Of course, Madeleine wasn't hurt. She couldn't very well lie to this girl that she'd just met. Choosing to tell the truth, Madeleine now had to decide how to explain herself.
"I like to visit the Hospital Wing to learn about healing techniques," Madeleine began. "Growing up as a Muggle I never saw anything like this. Magical medicine is fascinating to me. The fact that wounds and illnesses can be cured so quickly and easily absolutely amazes me. For example, a common cold needs to be treated by a bunch of different medicines in the Muggle world. But in the Wizarding world, a simple Pepperup Potion has one feeling much better and for much longer." Sighing contentedly, she momentarily lost herself in the fascination brought by the ease of magic.
Madeleine quickly shook herself out of it. "Anyway, that's why I'm here. Don't worry, though. I'm not mitching. I haven't started classes yet." She smiled at Arielle, laughing slightly.
She took a close look at her companion in the hospital bed. Outwardly, Madeleine didn't see anything wrong. Then again, she wasn't any sort of professional. "What brings you to the Hospital Wing?" She asked.

Arielle listened as Madeline replied, complementing her name: "Your name is proper lush. I like it."
"Thank you! I like your name, too,"

"Anyway, that's why I'm here. Don't worry, though. I'm not mitching. I haven't started classes yet."
"You know, I never thought of that. I grew up with my father half the time, who is a wizard, but he doesn't specialize in healing or anything. He loves Muggles. He wanted to get the Muggle Studies job here, but now he runs a shop called Mister Fox's Little Library. It's basically a magical equipment shop, a bookshop, a shop that sells ink, parchment, and quills, and a library all merged into one. I did spend a lot of time with my cousins, though, and their father is a Healer, but I don't know anything about healing magic." Arielle could really get off topic when she talked. That was way too much off topic from why Madeleine was in the Hospital Wing. Madeleine had started to examine Arielle. "What brings you to the Hospital Wing?"
"Well, I came here this morning because my shoulder was hurting, and the nurse said that I had pulled a muscle, and then she decided I was sick, so she gave me this spicy potion and insisted I stay here longer."
