Someone New
The corridors were crowded And buzzing with talk, Lily was bound to find someone, She just had to. Today was the day She was going to find a friend, the friend Shed talk to for the seven years of going to Hogwarts. Before Lily came here She promised herself She would find at least one person. Someone to share my hopes and dreams with, someone to mope and cry with, ya know! But Sadly everyone seemed to be busy or not interested. Nearing the end of the corridors She finally spotted someone, they were leaning against a wall, just staring into nowhere. They seem lonely and not too busy with...looking into know were. So Lily desided to walk over and say hello.
What if they dont like her, or even worst hate her! But Lily couldn’t chicken out now She was going to make them her new friend weather they like it or not.
Slowly shuffling her way over, She could see more of the person. To be honest they kind of looked scary, like someone you should probably stay away from. Maybe this wasn’t a look idea after all.
“ hi!” Offering the happiest smile Lily could have ever faked, and wlinking a couple of times just to top it off. Was that to much? What if they think she annoying, or stupid. Boy I hope not, that wouldn’t be good for trying to make them her new friend.

Jay was having a bad day. Like... A really really bad day. And it got worse as some high-pitched voice said hi to them. They took a deep breath to calm themself down and turned around. If it was possible Jay could of probably get blinded by the bright and happy girl. A Griffindor... “Um... Hey, do you have eye dystonia or what?” This would of probably set them off as rude already to the girl but they couldn’t resist asking after the girl winked many times at them. Jay then decided to make a conversation, because why not? After all they were free at the moment and they could use a distraction from all the trouble they’ve been through.
“I’m Jay Victoria, by the way. Oh and use they/them pronouns, you wouldn’t want to see me strangling you, would you? Anyways what’s your blood Type?” They started. It was probably sort of weird for the girl to have someone ask them their blood type but Jay just had to. They wouldn’t want to be making friends with the wrong people, Lady Anguelique would get angry.
They fiddled with their school robes, waiting for the girl to reply.

Blood type, what kind of question was that, Lily was absolutely mistafied. And of course they thought she had an eye problem, no wlinking got it. Lily had only been here for a day or two and has already heard the name of Jane Victoria, The girl who spits acid and exhales smoke! They decently seem like the dragon type.
“ I’m a pure-blood, and you?” Maybe Lily could put a pause on the sunlight and giggles and be just her. They seem to be taking joy out of this conversation or maybe they really think Shes a stupid prick.
“And no I don’t have an eye problem, thank you very much.” AN EYE PROBLEM, of all things they could say they said She had an eye problem. Lily was impressed by how relaxed they are in this conversation, there are hundreds to thousands of thing that could go wrong, and Lily had already done almost half already. Maybe she did have an eye problem?

“Oh well, I’m a proud Pureblood. And sorry if I asked, you seemed to be winking a lot,” Jay replied, they were now bored out of their minds. They then wondered wether this girls backround was. She probably lived on a rainbow with a bright and happy little family. Very different from their own story. Very. But... That was just a guess based on looks, “I wish I were in Slytherin like my family instead of the ‘oh-so brave’ Griffindor, it really sucks when you’re a disappointment to your family. I bet you don’t have any problems, and that— makes you very lucky, am I right?” Jay said then leaning on the wall.
They haven’t made any friends at all. Not even one. There were some people they have talked to but that all just polite talk. It seemed like whenever they opened their mouth people just became their enemy straight away. And this girl still wanted to talk to them with interest. The reaction wasn’t really much of a surprise or expected. It was sort of in-between. Jay yawned. Oops. They then realized that they haven’t slept at all for the past two nights. Gosh I really need some friends and sleep...

Who do they think they are, no who do they think Lily was. Lily deafently didn’t like the questions but if it meant learning what other people thought of her, than she would do it. Lily really didn’t even care about what house she got into, she was so Desperate to meet other people other than her parents and her bro-, just to meet new people...

Jay raised an eyebrow, I bet she vomits candy, and farts rainbows... She then was going to reply something else but quickly replaced it by just saying ‘amazingly lucky life’. With sarcasm Jay replied, “I guess that’s one thing we have in common!” They added the most obvious and fake smile in the end, just to give that pinch of ‘I’m a sarcastic jack arse’. It really set the tone.
Lily then asked if they wanted to hangout sometime. Jays heart started beating fast. This was the first time someone actually wanted to be friends with them. Wow. Now that was a surprise. How could they refuse? This the perfect chance to make a friend and be great! Jay mentally crossed their fingers with hopes that they would stay friends all the way to their seventh year. That would totally be awesome! But... They would have to deal with the sparkles and rainbows, Jay didn’t really mind if it that’s what it took to keep this person as their friend.
“Sure! Of course, I mean... And we do have the same house and dorm,” Jay replied a little too excited. Their angry mood was gone by now. And that was a good thing.

She did it, the bait has vanquished the dragon. Maybe Lily was going to have a friend, she wonder if they want her to be herself or not. If there’s one thing Lily’s learned threw out her life it’s to put a mask on. She’s put so many on, she’s totally forgotten what’s under them all. But that’s ok, if She keeps adding on maybe one day Lily can find herself again, probably not though.
“That’s great, I hope we can be friends.” Does she really want them to be her friend, or should she find someone that seems intrested. They seem a little more lighter than before, maybe a little less smoke. Maybe they would like her more if she dropped this giddy act, and try something new?

Jay grinned, “I live in mansion that has books spilled everywhere so... I learned to get used to reading,” Jay said. It was true. Once they appeared in the mansion with they were very surprised. It was full of books. Stack and stacks of books thrown everywhere, everything seemed neat exectp for the fact that books were thrown everywhere. Reading was like being thrown into a fantasy world, full of adventures and stuff.
Jay hasn’t been to the library at Hogwarts yet but it was definetly at the top of their exploring list. “I know where the library is! It’s actually near though, just down the corridor with the big double doors,” They said with slight excitement. Hopefully Lily wasn’t the type to be soo talkative when in the library. Jay respected the library. “So what type of books do you read? I have a very large variety, but most of the time I read books about the history of dark wizards... Books about the dark arts... And books written by my family,” Jay said, and please no books about unicorns and stuff! They thought, all they wanted to do was make conversation. Why do I even want to be friends with her?

Yes! Lily was right, they did like books. Maybe that was the key to learning more about them. Ever since Lily was a little girl she has always swormed herself in books. The real word didn’t really interest her as much as her books and music did. Lily’s father had one of the biggest library’s in the city, I mean there where only three of them.
“ I’ve read some books like that but I prefer more thriller and horror.” Lily always did love a good scare, even if they don’t really scare her all that much. If there was one thing she liked about her mother it was the old muggle movies she collected, they almost felt real when she watched them.
“Do you want to go to the library with me?” She used to hate reading actually, but after everything going wrong in her family, life felt almost... not worth her while. She would burry herself in books and music to create another world for her that felt more worth her time. I seemed everyone in the library was just trying to escape the outside world, or maybe it was just me? Probably, I mean who would want to escape life, people seem to think its a wonderful thing to have.

Oh. She likes muggle books. “Muggle books? I found those very boring and uninteresting, good thing that they don’t have muggle books here at Hogwarts. Actually, I should show you my favorite book! I think Hogwarts might have it...” Jay said, their favorite book is called ‘Secrets of the darkest arts’. It’s truly amazing!
It must of sounded weird or odd but Jay sort of hoped to be able to do some of the spthings in the book. Jay found the book in the mansion attic number three, they were looking for something to do that day and they opened a dusty old box and bam! Found a really cool looking thick book with the title ‘Secrets of the Darkest arts’. They remembered reading it nonstop for a whole month! It was simply big and used a lot of words they didn’t understand yet. But they got the hang of it after reading it like, twenty times. They also remembered getting in trouble once for trying to do one of the things in it. They had just gotten their wand and their guardian walked into the room. Jay didn’t understand though, they were too weak and small to even do a simple spell. Why would Sir Victoria freak out. And another time they were trying to shove the book in their suitcase but Lady Anguelique took it away.
“What’s your favorite book?” They asked feeling a bit curious, “And not including muggle books,” Jay added quickly.
