Alyssea chuckled. Yeah, she hoped the owl would reach Anton fine. There wasn't much in that owl besides a recap of everything that has happened so far in her Second Year. But considering everything that's happened, it was bound to bring in a very enthusiastic response.

As for getting Rodney on the duelling roster, "Yeah, practice is good since there's a lot to think about in duelling." She chuckled. "Wish someone told me that before I threw myself into my first match, if I'll be honest. I was just throwing spells around without thinking about it."

When Rodney asked her to practice, she raised an eyebrow. Alyssea was, quite literally, the worst person to ask for a practice duel since she 1. was not on the duelling roster and 2. miserably lost her first duel. Then again, she hasn't learned from her mistakes and gone back in there, so maybe duelling a second time would be different.

Still, she had no clue how to conduct a duel. She left most of the preparation to Zach and just showed up after thinking of a strategy. Raizel was the only moderator she knew and, while she could ask her to oversee the duel, Raizel was a very busy girl. Last Alyssea checked, Raizel was doing broom racing.

"Uhhh, I can help you practice, yes," Alyssea said, "But that practice duel might have to wait. I'll owl you about it when I can to see if you're still interested."

With a smile, she nodded her head. "Right, thank you for helping me deliver the owl! And for our nice chat, too. Again, I'll owl you about the duel some other time, but if you'd ever like help with spells, just owl me and we can arrange a study session."

"Have a good day, Rodney!" Alyssea said as she waved him off and headed back down the stairs.

“I hope she'll be a fool — that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”

“Uhhh, I can help you practice, yes.” Alyssea said. “But that practice duel might have to wait. I'll owl you about it when I can to see if you're still interested.” “Alright, sounds good.” I said. “Right, thank you for helping me deliver the owl! And for our nice chat, too. Again, I'll owl you about the duel some other time, but if you'd ever like help with spells, just owl me and we can arrange a study session.” To be honest, I didn’t see the point in owling Alyssea to schedule some study sessions, especially when I could just go to the Rehersal Room to talk to her. It wasn’t as if she was miles away and an owl was my only option to contact her from Hogwarts. And besides, with the way things were I wouldn’t be arranging a study session anyways. Wait, no, most of the spells I knew I didn’t even learn in the classroom and since Alyssea already had hands on experience with casting them, perhaps I could use a study session or two so that she could teach me a bit.

Just then, Alyssea began to head out of the Owlery and she waved goodbye to me as she said “Have a good day, Rodney.” “You too.” I replied as I watched Alyssea walk down the stairs. Once she was out of sight, I looked around the owlery and took a deep breath. Right, I had planned to go to the library to memorize some potion recipes right after I had sent my letter. Why did I want to memorize those potion recipes? So that I wouldn’t have to keep looking at my book while brewing a potion. That way, I could focus solely on brewing my potion instead of also checking my book to make sure I put in just the right amount of valerian sprigs into my potion.
