Izîl wondered if she had just awoken from a horrible dream. Had she really chastised Kissa for staring at the Americans? Or was that all part of the dream? No. It couldn't have been a dream. She remembered --- she remembered scoring a goal. And then --- and then ...

She saw the dark eyed American beater swing his bat, sending the bludger their way! She wanted to cry out, to warn her team mates! But the world was still blurry!

She could only watch in horror as Kissa and Zophyr were struck by the heavy ball, sending them flying off their brooms! Izzi gasped.

"KISSA!! ZOPHI!!" She watched helplessly as her friends plummeted towards the grassy pitch below. Her expression flitted between anger and admiration; but hardened as she glared at Theodore.

ACTION: Totally not staring at the dark haired beater and actions as planned.

It was clear the other team was taking no prisoners. Louca was all for playing the way one needed to win but there were limits. He debated for a moment whether he should go for the quaffle but decided it would be better to keep an eye out for any more of his falling teammates in the hope that he would have time to catch them. They were short on second string players and that escalated the damage of losing players to injuries or penalties. Circling around, he focused on the bludgers for the most part, keeping an eye out for where they were headed or being directed. But still doing his best to be aware of the rest of the game. He whooped, cheering his teammates when they scored. Things had turned around in this round, but that didn't mean they always would be like that. For the moment though he was going to take the joy after the frustration of the round previous.

They were down a teammate, and arguably the teammate most key to team morale, though Phyllis was maybe a little biased. There was no choice now but to avenge him, to play twice as hard to make up for being one player down. Phyllis would defend these hoops.

Except... she didn't have to. Elowen had it well and truly under control, swooping up the Quaffle and sending it flying through rings, ticking up points nearly effortlessly. She just got to sit back and watch, drifting back and forth a bit to stay moving. Grinning, she yelled, "Great job!" because if nothing else, she would be a cheerleader.

As lovely as Elowen's moment of fame was, the icing on the cake was truly Theo. Her best friend, who she already knew was a force to be reckoned with on the pitch, but was downright terrifying in the next few moments. And she meant that in the absolute best way possible. His bludger launched like a very destructive rocket, unseating both opposing beaters in one go. "Let's go, Theo!" Now that more than evened out the playing field.

His streak of bad luck was officially over. After the first miss, the second bludger that Theo hit was flying and hitting flawlessly, more than flawlessly. First one, then the other beater were falling down, just like Miles had a few moments before. Yes, they should be scared.

He caught Phyllis' gaze and raised his beater's bat triumphantly, flying an extra round around the hoops, grinning at his best friend. "Let's do this, Phyl!"

In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

Akihiko was having no luck finding the snitch. Honestly, what terrible luck. And it seemed like the chaser who was standing in as a seeker was having better luck than him. He scowled privately, but pasted a smile back on his face and got back to flying. There was no way he was going to lose this. His parents wouldn’t allow it.

Effects: In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.

This time, the table have turned for the better. For some reason their opponent seemed to be stunned, that El manage to score several goal. It was a fantastic feeling knowing his training for all this time is actually paying off. And while the boy did score some points, his other team mates also seems to be having a better shot this time around. Their beater, Theo, manage to bludger 2 person off their broom. Perhaps it was revenge to the other team for taking their other beater off too.

Sota scowled. This game was not going as he had thought it must. After all, he was surely the best quidditch player on the pitch today, and not only had he fallen prey to whatever machinations the American team had been up to, he had just been upbraided by one of the Uagadou girls!

This would not do. He had to pull himself together. And quick. Otherwise, his own reputation as the coolest fourteen year old wizard ever! Plus, if his family ever heard that he had not upheld honour, he'd be in big trouble!

	----- In the next instance, they were upon them. Theo had sniped at their beaters with incredible swings and he’d taken them both out. Uagadou could only gawk at the sheer difference in the calibre of players. This was a team that had just arrived to the pitch; they clearly needed a moment to warm up but this round meant that they didn’t pull the stop, with little regard to the rightly rattling foul Mkhaku had performed. Their entire team seemed struck with the grief that was watching two of their players be so brutally, and so easily, snuffed out; like the dimming of a candle; quick and without much effort. After he came to, they were three or four scrimmages through, and by the time he left for their penalty lap; they were onto their fifth. A scowl was painted on his face, one that wouldn’t relent.

I grinned as Elowen scored us 50 points. Kaya, my bestie and I had done an alley oop but sadly Kaya hadn't been able to catch the snitch. Oh, well, there was always a next time.
For now, I focused on my job as a chaser. Two of the other teams players had been knocked off of their brooms, and one of our players had been knocked off theirs. I guess it served them right.
With newfound confidence from what just happened in the past few minutes, I grinned. We could win this thing, I had that feeling in my bones.
