Delilah tiptoed through the moonlit corridors, her heart racing with a heady mix of excitement and trepidation. The plan to sneak past curfew and plunge into the Great Lake had been hatched with her partner-in-mischief, Delainie, under a shroud of secrecy. The castle's echoes seemed to conspire with their rebellion, whispering tales of daring escapades and moonlit adventures.

Finally reaching the shore of the Great Lake, Delilah's breath caught as she saw Delainie already there, her silhouette dancing with the moon's reflection on the water. Delilah's frizzy hair, held in place with a makeshift headband, seemed to shimmer with anticipation.

"Here we go !" She said, waving at her. "Let's break rules !"

The Great Lake lay before them, a mirror of liquid silver shimmering beneath the moon's tender gaze. Its surface was calm, a canvas of tranquility that stretched out towards the distant horizon. Moonlight painted a gentle path of luminescence across the water, as if inviting them to step into its ethereal embrace.

The air carried a hint of moisture, cool and inviting, a prelude to the sensation that awaited them. Delilah dipped her fingers into the water, feeling its silky caress against her skin. It was surprisingly refreshing, like a whispered promise of rejuvenation and adventure.

She didn't hold a very good memory of the Lake but she was ready to face her fears ! Delilah surveyed the tranquil expanse of the Great Lake, a mischievous glint in her eyes. She rolled up her pants with an exaggerated flourish, revealing her ankles. "You know," she mused, a mischievous grin tugging at her lips, "they really should offer curfew-breaking swims as an extracurricular activity. It's the perfect way to de-stress after a long day of boring classes."

The murky depths and the thought of being caught by the vigilant prefect, Damion, stirred a momentary sense of unease but she soon chased it away. Delilah was one to live in the present, never worrying about what was to come in the future. Breaking through the surface, she reappeared with droplets of lake water clinging to her face and hair.

"Oh, hello there," she said in a dreamy, whimsical tone. "I'm Delilah. Delilah Chapman." . She gave Damion a gentle smile, as though the situation was nothing more than a curious adventure.

Delilah glanced at Delainie and couldn't help but stifle a giggle at her sassy comments. She knew that her friend was pulling out her wand, and Delilah decided to add to the diversion. "You see, Damion," she continued in her dreamy tone, "we were just out here to have a little midnight swim under the stars. The lake is so enchanting at this hour, don't you think? It's like a secret world of its own."

Delilah never claimed herself to be brave. She usually tried to talk her way out of unpleasant situations or merely run away, never looking back. Fighting was never her first option, sometimes never one to begin with. Del wasn't really proud of that. Because of that, she didn't bring her wand with her, deeming it useless.

Delilah's expression became almost pensive as she spoke, her dreamy tone holding a touch of genuine wonder. "Have you ever felt the magic of the night, the way it weaves its own enchantment? It would be a shame to miss it. You can join us if you want !" she asked, her gaze drifting toward the shimmering lake.

She hoped that by appealing to Damion's sense of wonder and adventure, she could soften his resolve and divert his attention from their rule-breaking escapade. But the guy seemed serious, too serious for her taste. Detention it is, I guess. She thought with a sigh.
