Clair smiled "Oh speak of the devil!" The Ravenclaw said as Colin appeared in the kitchen.
Colin seemed to notice Josh and Clair watched as Colin introduced himself. It should be her introducing them to each other, but she did not want to. What if Josh stole Colin away? Or even worse, pushed the snaky boy away?

But alas, the girl was raised with enough manners to know not to pull Colin away and yell at Josh to stay out of her life. Well, the best thing she could do was at least have a foot in the conversation at a natural pace, right? She raised a eyebrow at the boy, last she had checked Buddies did not have a bo sound in it.

But her mind was full of other thoughts, so she dropped the thought. "um, yeah Colin this is my brother-in-law Josh. Josh this is my Boddy Colin." Ok so she had not completely dropped the whole buddy with a O thing. Josh nodded "Nice to meet you little bud" Josh stepped closer and ruffled Colin's hair with his hand. Clair wanted to face palm, who ruffles someone's hair when they first meet? Thats just cringy! Again Clair felt like Josh was trying to be like a father figure, like one of those light hearted boyish fathers, sort of like her own father. The thought hit with a pang, and would come to her face in the form of another quick glare towards the man.

She laughed at Colin's comment "Cinnamon just wanted Simon, don't be offended"
She pointed at the cat "I see you have a friend"
Belle who had been once again chatting looked towards Colin and smiled. "That guy has been hanging around lately, no matter how hard i try he would never come out to get anything, even for a dish of tuna."

"He likes Colin! I can see why" clair said with a grin.

Colin grimaced as Clair said he was her 'boddy'. That dratted O! He couldn't help but notice Mamó raise her eyebrow again. This time at Clair! And not once, but twice! Even Colin noticed how Clair emphasised Josh's name. Was there something going on Colin didn't know about? If Colin had a moment to think, he might better wonder what he did know! That fact of the matter was that Colin knew Izzy a bit, being in the same House and all, and she's told him about Belle. She'd talked about her Ma and Da, of course.

But --- who was Josh, really?

The man didn't give him much time to think, as he stepped forward. He was smiling and he ruffled Colin's hair. Colin smiled back and leaned a bit into Josh's hand contentedly. God how he wished Clair would ruffle his hair and scritch behind his ears! Those were two of Colin's weaknesses, he knew. Tom Riddle himself could scritch behind his ears and Colin would love it! But Clair --- *sigh!* Maybe she would see that he liked it and would give it a try!

Wait. Why did Clair glare at Josh? For his greeting? Colin wasn't sure what to make of that. "Hello sir! Mr Josh!" he replied. "It's good to meet you too! I'm so glad Clair brought us here to visit with your family!" Colin really was happy to be here. In fact, he could barely contain himself from asking Josh and Belle if he court with Clair right there and then!

But something told him that this might not be the best moment. Something in Clair's eyes. She needed to talk to him. That much was clear!

Soon enough everyone was chatting again! "So, Clair! I saw a tin of Bag Balm in the mud room! When I was sorting out the wellies, right? We have that in our barn too! Only we add a bit of potion to ours. Keeps our cowies happy! Do ye put anything in yer balm here?" Even though Cinnamon and he hadn't gotten along, Colin was still impressed by the Fernandez Farm!

Greebo decided to hop up onto Colin's lap as he chatted with Clair and Belle. He felt at home. He was happy here with Clair and her family. Of course, he was so very sad that Clair's own mother and father had died. But Belle and Josh seemed to love and care for her very much. That made Colin a little happier, anyway! He didn't know what he'd do if Ma and Da ever died! Greebo purred loudly, nudging Colin's chin.

Belle noticed. "He's a braw kittie, Miss Belle! I wonder --- er --- we seem to be getting attached and all. If it's okay with you, and Mamó of course, if I could keep him?" Clair smiled at Colin and Colin's heart swelled. He blushed just a little bit and he nuzzled Greebo's sleek black fur. He looked up towards Clair, his eyes sparkling. He really was wondering what was going on between her and Josh. He seemed so nice and all!

Clair glared even more at Josh, It seemed he had earned Colin's respect, that bugged her.
"I'm so glad that you both were able to come to our farm!" Josh replied, Clair wanted to scream at him, but instead she just glared at him some more and mutter softly under her breath "Your farm? Nah. This is the Fernandez's farm." No one would have heard her, but her lips may have been readable.

Soon everyone was chatting again and Clair pulled herself together again. She smiled, "Oh yes! its a staple for any barn with udders. We don't add anything to ours, I'm sure a little potion would be helpful though."

Despite Clair's moodiness towards Josh, she could feel that the room was cheery and happy. It was the happiest it had been since... well since death and loss had plagued the household. It had been many years since there had been no grief in the house. Back when she was little, back before her father passed the family would laugh and sing and break out into random dance parties all of the time. But then her Father had passed away and, well, no one wanted to do that anymore. No one had the energy to Bop around, when some days getting out of bed was the hardest task. No one wanted to fill the house with laughter and bad jokes, because everyone was painfully aware of the fact that this new room full of laughter was one voice less full. After that, her sister started to pull away from the rest of the family. It had not really effected Clair as badly as it could have, That is, until last year. Last year her mother passed away and at the time when the Fernandez Girls needed to be together as best as they could, Izzy left the picture and Belle was freshly married.

It had torn Clair into bits, she no longer talked to Izzy as much as she used to, It took her chasing her sister down in the halls of Hogwarts to speak to her. When Clair came home, the house was even more empty. Honestly it hurt, it hurt a lot. But now, now for the first time in a long time, the laughter and chatter of happy people reached every corner of the house, it filled each untouched corner and crack. It momentarily filled the broken cracks in Clair's heart which she had not realized were there.

She smiled at Colin with a genuine smiled, her eyes were bright and happy.

Belle smiled, "That old stray? I've been thinking of getting him relocated, he loves to scare the living daylights out of me every morning at chore time." Clair's sister laughed, "Please! take him!"

Josh seemed really nice as he welcomed them, and Colin certainly felt at home. He and belle seemed to really get on and Colin wondered if it would be like that for him and Clair in a few years too. Most of the talking was between Belle and Josh and his Mamó. Mostly stuff going on around Britain or in the world beyond. Stuff Colin didn't know anything much about. But every now and then they'd mention a place or an event he'd read about, and that got him interested in the talk. They also talked about the farm and the lands around.

What really got Colin's attention was one moment where he could swear Clair made a face at Josh! This made him smile as they talked quietly about the bag balm and about all the animals. Colin was really impressed how much Clair knew about domestic creatures. He considered whether Cinnamon ought to classified as domestic or semi-wild. He thought better of it when he considered that he himself had better luck with wild creatures!

Some laughter from the adults made Colin turn his head to figure out what happened. When nothing illuminating was said, he turned back to Clair. "You know, Clair. Josh really seems to love you both! I'll bet you two get along really well with him! Not sure about the Lizard --- I mean Izzy!" He leaned in close to whisper: "I saw ye making a funny face at him just then!" Colin giggled. "I'd never do that to me Ma, but yer Josh reminds me a little of my own Da! I'll bet he's fun to hang around with too!"

It seemed to Colin that Clair really had it good here. He knew that her Da had died a while back and her Ma last summer. But it seemed that the Fernandez house was filled with contentment and love all the same. There was just one small thing --- Colin did wonder at the face Clair made at Josh. Was there more to it? He didn't seem to respond with anger or displeasure. Could Clair be hiding something?

Clair glared at Josh again,
"He came, he stole my sister's heart and then our home and made it his house. That I can not forgive him for, The Lizard has pretty similar feelings for him, though she hates anyone who breaths air in an unstylish way." Her voice was dry at the start, but Clair was terrible at keeping grumpy from long and by the end of her sentence she had a slight smile and her voice was light again. She did not bother to go into depth about the whole reason she hated Josh so much, to be honest she was not completely sure why he rubbed her the wrong was SO much, Marven had treated her like a child. Then again her old nanny had been old enough to be her father. Josh was young enough to be her older brother.
She could also never remember her sister talking about him when she was home from school, despite her claim that they had been dating since Belle's second year at Hogwarts. Things did not add up and it bugged Clair.

She changed the topic away from herself. "How was the drive up? I'm sure the car was a big treat." Knowing he came from a pureblood family and seeing his reaction to the simple muggle things that filled her house led her to think he had probably not been in a car too much, but who knows?
