The weather outside was really good. What could be greater than a sunny day on the weekend? Zach walked out to the Duelling Club to meet his fellow Ravenclaw and second-year student, Oliver Brown, for a duelling practice appointment. It reminded him of Oliver's cute pet owl, Wisdom, who wore an adorable suit at the Pet Fair. Zach also asked his senior, Beatrice Langstreth, to help them practice. The three were teammates in the Summer Games. The match they had in the last Summer made Zach wanted to feel the sensation of dueling again.

When he had arrived at the Duelling Club, he found that Beatrice was already there, sitting down on the stands while her knees bouncing. Zach approached her and said, "Hi, Beatrice! The weather outside is nice," with a bright smile on his face. He looked at the surroundings to see if Oliver was already there. He grabbed a bottle of mineral water from his enchanted satchel and drank it. After that, he put it back and also put off his satchel of his shoulder. He lay down his satchel on the ground near the stands.

Zach went to the piste when Beatrice instructed them so. He grabbed his wand tightly and pointed it towards Oliver. His mind started to think for some seconds about what action he should take. When he heard the match was started, he had decided what he was about to do. He just hope this duel made could make him learn more about duelling.

Oliver was particularly excited about the duel he had signed up in. It wasn’t official. Oliver felt that school duels weren’t a lot, so he decided to join some others in non official duelling. He had recognized who he was up against. Zach, one of his teammates during the summer duelling event at the summer camp. He remembered Zach was a second year too. However, Zach probably had more experience. He smiled when he saw his opponent and the moderator. “Hello! I’m here for the unofficial match! Hi Zack, ready for the match? I hope we can have a nice friendly match today, sorry I’m a bit late! Good Luck! May the best dueller win!” Oliver told Zach with a friendly smile. He was excited no doubt. He pulled out his wand and took his place on stage. He already had what he wanted to do in mind. He looked at Zach, a fellow ravenclaw. I can do this! Just don’t have a repeat on your first match… Oliver said to himself as memories from his first match came back to him. He lost focus, and once he was able to put his head in the game, it was too late, and he was knocked out. He wiped the thoughts off his mind. Lets do this!

Both second years were eager to make their mark on the other. Oliver in particular was determined. She could see by the set of his face. Probably remembering their first match together and how it had gone down.

Stepping a bit further back, Beatrice watched as both duellists flung their spells at the other. The went wide, the aim off. Perhaps both Zach and Oliver were too keyed up about this duel? Bea didn't know the exact cause but she hoped someone landed something soon. It was always more exciting then a constant aim and miss.

Shaking her head whilst smiling, she cast a critical eye over both duellists to make sure they were alright before declaring the next round. "Everything seems in order. Let's hope we hit something this round! Begin!"

What situation would annoy someone when they have to focus? Sneezing. It was really annoying because it could break the focus. Zach has decided what to do. He grabbed and pointed his wand toward Oliver then cast, "Steleus!" Zach knew for sure that he cast the spell successfully. However, his opponent could evade it fantastically.

At the same time, when he heard the incantation, Zach looked at the direction of the wand and moved slightly when he saw the flame, hoping the spell didn't hit him. Maybe he was still lucky enough this round because he could evade it. He was relieved and disappointed at the same time.

Zach listened to Bea and nodded in agreement. Actually, it's not a bad opening but also not good either because there was no fun, there was no spice. Zach wracked his brain to decide what spells he had learnt that was also interesting to do. His face reddened for trying too hard to recall them.

A spell crossed his mind. "Should I do it?" he thought. He took a deep breath and released it before he fixed his stance. With the wand pointing at Oliver, Zach was ready to do his next action. Hopefully, he was lucky enough to cast the spell.

On the stage, he had started, a lot better than his first duel thankfully. He hadn’t hesitated or lost focus. Oliver watched as Zach casted Steleus, the sneezing spell, an annoying little spell. It was clear Zach new his spells, and was an excellent dueller. Oliver gave a smug smiled, he had a challenge, and Oliver appreciated challenges. Oliver was able to evade it, simply by side stepping. It was easier than he thought. But he knew he only got lucky. It probably wouldn’t be like this next round. But he hoped it was. He needed this luck. He hoped his spell would do better than his, and actually hit Zach. “Incedio!” He shouted pointing his wand at Zach, flames came out of his wand, however Zach dodged it as well. “Damn!..” Oliver said under his breath. He wasn’t only good at casting spells, but dodging it too! Oliver thought of another spell to use, he wasn’t 100% sure he could do this particular spell since he used to have a hard time doing it. He debated for while, this or that? He would ask himself. This was a fun and challenging game. He liked that, and for that, he liked Zach for the skilled dueller he was.

Round 2

Both duellists were out for damage this round, trying to prove themselves since the last. Whether to her or just themselves Bea wasn’t sure. Since the last round had ended with both spells missing by a certain degree, Bea took a hasty step back expecting the same. But what happened what totally different to what she was expecting.

Zach went all out, firing a quick and neat Tarantallegra at Oliver who was unable to avoid it. Beatrice could tell it hit because the second it did, Oliver broke out into a flourish. Smooth arabesques and fancy pirouettes were the highlight of this duel it seemed. Bea broke out into a smile, her hand coming up to try and smother her light laughter. She had to be impartial even if it was funny that someone else had been it with her least favourite spell.
The third year wasn’t sure if Oliver had sent his spell flying across the piste just before or after being hit, but the fancy footwork Oliver displayed wasn’t enough to stop him. His flipendo would land, just, although it wasn’t a strong hit. Zach would still be hurt, and Bea winced. She knew how hard those flipendos hurt. It seemed the dancing was using all Olivers concentration this round.
Checking to make sure both duellists were alright, she nodded at them to continue.

Zach smiled when he had made up his mind. "Tarantellagra will do," he thought. What was better than dancing in the nice weather? Zach also used this spell a lot in previous duel and it mostly hit his target successfully. So he cast it towards Oliver and boom! The spell hit him. Oliver was doing ballet. Some fancy footwork, if Zach wasn't wrong it's called pirouettes, made Zach smiled ear to ear. He liked ballet. No, he loved any of the performing arts. "Nice footwork, Oliver," Zach said quietly. Whether the footwork would hurt his ankles or not, Zach just hoped Oliver had enough flexibility.

But not long after that, a familiar spell was hit by Oliver, a Knockback Jinx. A spell he learnt from DADA class in his first year. It was such an offensive spell that would definitely hurt you. Zach was trying to avoid the spell but it still hit him. "Ouch" Zach touched his left shoulder as it was hurt. Luckily, it didn't hurt him as much as he had felt before.

Zach fixed his posture and pointed his wand towards his opponent. What act he should do next? May the odds be ever in his favor.

Oliver was doing well, so far at least. His opponent Zach had decided to cast Tarantellegra on him. Oliver didn't like Tarantellegra one bit. It was a very annoying spell, that forced whoever it hit to dance. Oliver desperately tried his best to dodge it, but he wasn't able to do so. The next moment, Oliver was prancing around, doing awkward poses and dances, he was swinging his arms all around the place. "Arg!!" He said i frustration, he was embarrassed and he blushed. He tried to regain focus, it was hard to aim at his opponent since he was still jumping around. "Flipendo!" He shouted, trying his very best to hit Zach. However, he hit Zach only a bit, it must have hurt but it hadn’t done a lot. It wasn’t a surprise that he wasn’t able to hit Zach, after all he was prancing around. The effects started to wear off, he had to improve his dodging, and his aim. Oliver pondered what to do next. He looked at his fellow ravenclaw, he knew what to do next. He just hoped he could do it better than he last round. He can’t have this performance for the rest of the game.

Bea watched the paths of the two spells being flung at each other. Zach was more proficient it seemed. More calm and cool. His tickling charm landed perfectly. Poor Oliver was unable to dodge it by any means, and she watched as the boy was overcome by the tickles. Tickling and ballet. What a combo! Bea snorted to herself, trying to cover it up with a cough. Seriously it was much funnier being a spectator instead of the one it was happening to.

Perhaps the tickling was what had made Oliver miss, what with Zachs spell landing at the perfect timing for the boy himself to dodge out of the way due to Oliver if ever slightly wavering concentration. Beatrice could tell Oliver was working hard to sling a spell at his opponent. After this was all over, she'd commend both of the newly-minted second years that they were doing an excellent job.

Talking of spells, she was sure Zach could feel the kick of the Flipendo spell as it soared past him into the dummies beyond. Bea heard a loud clatter as the wooden dummies fell to the floor, and she made a note to clean up the damage once this was all over and done with. Seeing that both of the boys were alright, she nodded for them to continue. "If only I had a camera Oliver! Let's see what next round brings!"
