Amanda entered the rehearsal room, partially closing the door behind her. she walked over to the piano, sitting down on the bench. It looked like it was a high quality piano, but Amanda suspected that somebody might keep it looking pristine with a spell of sorts. She had recently discovered that there was a piano in this room when she had peeked in once on her way to class and made a promise to herself to come back and play.

Amanda's grandparents had pressured her into learning the piano a few years back, and although she didn't enjoy learning that much, she was proud of how well she could play. Music had its own kind of special magic, one that didn't require wands and spells. Amanda placed her hands on the keys and began to move them, creating a beautiful yet familiar melody. Amanda didn't have a lovely singing voice like a sopranos. Her voice was on a bit of a lower key, but her range was decent enough to the point where she sing well.

"Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world is turning inside out, yeah
And floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now
Don't stop me
Cause I'm having a good time
Having a good time"

Amanda continued playing and singing, the music echoing through the room. When she finished the song, she sat back and grinned to herself. That sounded fricking awesome.

"A fan of Queen?"

Henry'd question from the doorway. He had been walking past, probably on the way back to the common room, when he'd heard the music come from the room. He'd been in here once or twice for some clubs and auditions, but he hadn't heard someone singing that song before.

Henry could play acoustic guitar pretty easily, but he'd dabbled in piano at school when they had the four weeks of practice lessons for a concert. Though, he didn't feel like he was good enough to go to further lessons after that time period so he just kept up with his guitar. His family was quite musical, he supposed, even if there was only one of whatever instrument between the nine kids. Their dad had this thing about wanted well-rounded children, which apparently meant choosing either an art, sport or musical instrument.

He'd stood in the doorway for the last few lines of her song, before he said his comment. Henry was impressed, both by the fact that she was good and that she had the guts to actually get up there and perform, even if it was to herself. Putting his hands together, he'd applaud a few times, to make sure she knew he was serious with his comment and not mocking her.

Amanda whirled around, not expecting anyone to be there listening. "Yeah, actually. My parents like more of the music from the 70s and 80s, so that's the music that I listen to the most. I'm guessing that you're kind of a fan too, since you recognized the song. I'm also guessing that you grew up around Muggles. Not that that's a bad thing," she hastily amended, not wanting to give off the wrong impression. "I'm not that good, I know. Definitely not as good as Freddie Mercury." She laughed. Amanda was in fact a good singer and piano player, but she didn't want to seem boastful around this boy.

"Do you play any instruments? I can also play the acoustic guitar and drums, but not that well. I don't really practice playing those instruments, so that's probably why I'm not as good at them." Amanda pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, preventing them from slipping off. "Sorry if I'm talking too much or too fast. It's a bad habit of mine. I'm Amanda, by the way," she introduced herself, remembering her manners. "I don't think that I've seen you around before, which actually isn't that surprising considering that this is a large school."

Henry'd move further into the room, smiling at her. "I'm a muggleborn, yeah. My older sister loves them, my mum does too. Her favourite is Bohemian Rhapsody because of all the different voices and such. I have enough siblings that we could all do different parts."

He'd chuckle, shaking his head at the memory whilst he stopped near her on the piano.
"Mind if I sit? I don't play but I'm decent at the acoustic guitar. That's it. I'm an alright singer, according to my mum but she has to say that, so.."

He'd shrug. He wasn't bragging, just stating what he had been told in his life. Not that they would necessarily be true.

Anyways, Henry was currently dressed in his own clothes as it was.. after class (?) so he was wearing a black and grey striped top and some dark washed jeans with canvas shoes. Overall, you probably couldn't tell what house he was in as he wasn't wearing the house colours. He had his wand tucked through his belt loops and he was quite careful to not break or bend it. That certainly would not go well, plus he had gotten quite attached to the wand.

"Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely one of my favorites. I can play that song too, actually." She scooted over on the bench, making room for the boy. "Sure, you can sit. What's your name?"

Amanda couldn't tell what house he was in, but she didn't want to ask. She noticed that sometimes people felt discriminated due to their house and she didn't want to cause any animosity, although this boy did seem pretty easygoing. Amanda was dressed in casual clothing, like the boy, instead of her house robes. She had on a plain heather grey shirt, covered by a loose unbuttoned flannel, and a pair of distressed jeans and black high tops to complete the outfit. Her dark brown hair was fashioned into a messy bun on the top of her head. Amanda made a mental note to herself to get her hair cut again over winter break. She didn't like having it long enough to go past her shoulders.

"Do you want to do another song? I don't really care, I just thought to offer it up as an option." She shrugged. "You can pick, if you'd like. It doesn't have to be Queen." Amanda didn't want it to seem as if she was pressuring the boy into anything.
