Ruby was thankful that Henry didn't mention the tear and hoped that he hadn't noticed after all.

She hadn't been able to see the sun properly from where she was, so she couldn't calculate the time herself. She was grateful that Henry could do it instead. Ruby smiled as she watched Henry. Thank you for being my friend, she thought.

“Yeah, I should probably go soon then… there's a couple of things I need to finish tonight, and I wanted to get to bed on the early side,” Ruby said, a little disappointed at the realization that she had to make this come to an end.

She snorted. “My house? What about them? They don't need to know, and if they do, I don't care what they say. Most if not all of them know or have friends in other houses, if that's what you're talking about. Do you want to plan to see each other at some point now, or would you like me to send you an owl or something so you get it at breakfast the next day?”

Ruby actually liked the idea that you could send owls to other students while at school, and she planned on doing that. Why have to bother with slipping someone a note and have people see you when you could just write them a letter and have an owl deliver it?
