Ellara Butler sat down on a small sloped hill on the school grounds, camped out with a picnic blanket and basket on a patch of green grass that had been graced with the shade from the nearby trees. Fortunately, despite the time of the year, the weather wasn't all that too chilly, and although she required a jacket, it wasn't unpleasant enough that she couldn't decide to host a little celebratory picnic in success of surviving her arrival to Hogwarts!

Granted, it may be a bit depressing to have a picnic on her own, but Ellara had yet to click with anyone to the point where she'd have been comfortable with inviting them. Who couldn't have a little bit of fun on their own, every once and a while? She and the house elves in the kitchen near the Hufflepuff Common Room had already been made fast friends, and she'd managed to convince them to donate a few various wizarding treats she'd always wanted to try out. (At the moment, Pumpkin Pasties were her favorite, as they rightfully fit with the November fall vibe.)

The young witch smoothed out her picnic blanket, something she'd managed to borrow from one of the Professors, who had no use for it at the moment, and hummed a soft tune while searching through her bag of treats. Next up were either the jellybeans or chocolate frog, but she'd heard whispers that both were a bit "difficult" to consume.

Marissa needed some fresh air. She had spent far too long inside mopping around for the past 3 months. Possibly more if you added on the summer holidays. She stood by the entrance of the grounds, or the entrance of the castle. It depends on how the student looks upon it. Mari had a wintry outfit on with thick black tights and black boots, just to make sure she stayed warm. The uniform usually dragged across the floor, and this time of year the floor was muddy. Mari did not like having her uniform dirty, she liked it clean and smart. She had other things to worry about.

Walking down various paths, Marissa made her way down deeper into the grounds. Some students were simply walking together, chatting, but others were running back towards classes or hoping to get to the warmth of the castle. As she walked down, Mari noticed a first year alone eating sweets. She had a sudden urge to join her but knew otherwise, the girl must have friends coming over soon. Marissa also noticed that she was a fellow Hufflepuff, she had never seen her around before. But then again she had not been paying a lot of attention recently.

So instead, Mari walking further down slightly, in front of the girl's view, and crouched down. She rubbed her hands together for warmth as she took in the view. Marissa made sure not to get anything dirty, so she stood back up and continued to stare at the view.

Ellara was mid-bite into a pumpkin pasty when she heard footsteps approaching from her left and instinctively turned her head to investigate. She couldn't recall inviting anyone to her little "picnic," but maybe one of the other students had tracked down her little hiding spot in the grove of trees. Naturally, the Hufflepuff girl wouldn't mind one bit. The more the merrier, after all, but who could be wandering over in this direction?

Her questions were answered a moment later when a young girl with blonde hair wandered into view, giving Ellara a passing glance before walking forward as if she were invisible. Her outfit was cute, and Ellara took special note of the black boots, deciding if the two ever spoke, she'd have to ask where the girl got them. And look! It was a Hufflepuff-girl. Even more of a reason to say hello!

The First-Year frowned for a moment, as the stranger still paid her no attention, wondering why she was being ignored. Did hanging out with her really seem that repulsive? Or maybe the Hufflepuff was just shy? Ella decided to go with the second one, figuring it was always best to see the best in people until they gave you a reason to do otherwise. She set the rest of her pumpkin pasty aside and watched the blonde crouch down to watch the view - meanwhile blocking Ellara's!

It was definitely time to say something. "Hey, do you come out to this spot often?"
