General The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019

Robin watched in awe the food appearing out of the nowhere! Knowing her love for food, this was clearly the most wonderful thing in ages, yet the question appeared in her mind, ‘Who cooked the food?!’ Before Robin could ask to the person near her, she saw how they were happily chatting with each other, and it would be totally rude to interrupt just to ask something that could be possibly dumb. Taking shyly a  piece of meat and mashed potatoes, hoas she hoped to hear someone from the table to talk about something she could comprehend and discuss about it, the surely were more nor-muggle born like her who would be new to the world of magic too.
Or well, someone to talk to at least, after all, she still needed to know how things worked here. As she took a bite from the food on her plate, the flavor melted in her mouth; so delicious that made her worries go away as she continued eating. If she ever found who made this, she will thank them for the food that was serve, if there wasn’t, well, she would just enjoy about it.

She took a piece of bread and eat it, repeatedly claiming how delicious was all of it.

Or even talk with someone. Welp, at least the food was so delicious that made her worries melt away.

Olive made her way into magnificent room, absolutely bursting with life as the countless students started their loud chatter. The tables were, for the most part, filled up, but there were still some spare seats available for the first-year students, such as herself. She easily found her table of students dressed with the similar blue symbols containing their avian mascot, an eagle (Or was it a raven. That would make more sense for “Ravenclaws”) on their robes and began wandering around in search for a seat. Jackie, of course, was nowhere in sight. Where in the castle was she? Perhaps she was off admiring the splendor grandeur of the great hall. She wouldn’t blame her. Never before had Olive herself seen such an amazing place. Well, until Jackie finally made an appearance, she best save a seat for both of them.

Sitting a bit to her left, and quietly keeping to herself, she noticed a girl she saw previously in the sorting ceremony. Of course, she wasted no time at all as she briskly walked over and took a seat before extending her hand accompanied by a wide grin. “Hi there," as she spoke, her smile only grew. “I’m Olive!”

[Replying to Olive Bennet]

“RAVENCLAW!!”

Jackie Chandler had known she would make it into Ravenclaw. Her mother and father had been in Ravenclaw when they attended Hogwarts, so it just made sense. Either way, it wouldn’t have mattered. She’d be happy with any house as long as her childhood friend accompanied her. Jackie gave a short-lived grin to the Ravenclaw table, before she began to scan it in search of her pal. Her stride slowed a bit as she did so, but quickly picked back up as she smiled broadly at a familiar face; Olive Bennet. All of her worries melted away right at that moment. If her old friend was here and in the same house, she wouldn’t have to go through the trouble to make new friends! Right? Her calm demeanor held, even with so many eyes watching, as she beckoned Oliver to scooch over a bit before plopping down in her seat at the table.

Wreathed in smiles, Jackie watched without surprise as food began appearing at the table. It was a school of magic after all, and her parents used these kinds of spells all the time. In a matter of seconds, her plate was full with sausages, bacon, pork chops, potatoes, and peas. But before she began to shovel food into her mouth, her head turned to Olive.

“So is magic awesome, or is it awesome?”

Robin blinked surprised while she still had food in her mouth. She fastly chewed and swallowed her food, nearly choking with it; taking Olive’s hand with shyness and shaking it fastly.

“I’m Robin, nice to meet you...” Oh boy, what a time to be so shy when she was socializing, with courage she decided to start the talk with pink cheeks. Looking through every place inside the Great Hall, in search for a theme. To talk about it, darn it.
‘I might look stupid for asking this... but here is the shot for it...’

“Do... you know how the food appeared out of nowhere? Because I don’t know anything about spells or magic.”

Oh good lord, what a form of indicating that she loved eating from the bottom of her heart, and stomach. She didn’t even eat a lot though, even if the food was the most delicious thing she ate, she could only eat medium portions, or whatever medium definiaction was there.

‘Would it mean the same as the hu-muggle world?’ She asked herself in a matter of microseconds, realizing that Olive was still looking at her. ‘Please don’t tell me I just asked the most stupid question ever asked.’

Olive pulled back her hand after the quick shake and shook her head, her mousy brown hair bounced around as she did so. "Oh no, you're fine... And, I would have not the slightest idea. In all honesty, I didn't even know I was witch until last summer!" Olive gave another large, toothy smile before opening her mouth to speak. However, he was suddenly cut off by a familiar first year who, in the least, kindly pushed her closer to Robin. She smiled broadly at her, which Jackie returned the kindly gesture.

“So is magic awesome, or is it awesome?” she heard Jackie exclaim as she went straight to work piling her plate full of food. She expertly placed sausages and bacon in an almost tower-like structure that sat next to a mount of potatoes. Why had Jackie not done that sooner?

Olive couldn't help but laugh as she plopped her arm over her friend's shoulder. "Yeah, it's pretty awesome alright. I can't believe we're in the same 'what'cha call-it.'" Her attention turned from Jackie back to Robin. Of course she could never just ignore this new friend "Oh, Robin, this is Jackie. Jackie, this is Robin. Now let's go be friends!"

Jackie looked over Robin whilst giving her a friendly but rather awkward wave. "Uhh, hello!" She didn't expect to be making friends this quickly, but when she mulled it over it seemed unavoidable. They were in a humongous room full of students from this year to years past. It'd be hard not to meet someone new with so many chatty people around. Nevertheless, if Olive was this eager to make friends, then maybe she should do the same? "Nice to meet you, Robin." She wore a blankly courteous smile, but tried her absolute best to appear friendly. Finally, her hunger won her over as she shoved a piece of bacon inside her mouth, followed by a forkful of pork chop. While glancing at the candles overhead, she began to think of a few conversation topics. It would be a little strange to just go on back to eating after just introducing yourself, and then never mention anything else. She was trying to fit in and make a friend after all. As the nagging hunger subsided, her thoughts wandered back to the journal Olive and she had started on the train. Her eyes lit up as she remembered an important task at hand. Turning back to Robin, she asked, "do you have any buttons to spare? Size or colour doesn't matter much." It didn't seem like a silly question at that moment, but she reflected on its stupidity only seconds after.

“Are you by chance a muggle born too?” She squeaked,a little happy that she said wan’t stupid at all. Then, Olive was being closer to her, but because she was being pushed by another female student, who was smiling at Olive, saying how magic was amazing.

Robin quickly assumed by the familiarity they talked with each other and how the other girl was amused, they both were childhood friends from the muggle community. She might be wrong about it, but it was interesting  guessing people’s relationships. Until Olive introduced the other girl, who was actually named Jackie devoured her food merciless in mere seconds. Wow.

"Do you have any spare buttons?" Jackie asked without noticing the food in the corner of her lip. Puffing a small laugh at the sight, put a finger in here mouth, indicating where she had food.

"I believe I actually do, but it's in my dormitory." Robin answered. "Do you need them now? before that, do you know each other for a long time or somethign similar? I'm sorry if it's something private, it just gave me a pinch of curiosity."

She took another bite from her plate, loving every inch of smashed potatoes, yep, this needed a sausage too.

"Muggle-born..." Olive muttered as she roughly scratched her head before fiddling with the bandage on her cheek. She was sure she heard that term passed around before, but what in the devil’s name did it- of course! That's what Jackie and her parents called her after finding out that Olive was, in fact, a witch. "Oh yeah, I guess I am. I is a really fun story, too." She trailed off as Jackie introduced herself and used this time to her advantage as she began to pile up on various sweet foods and potatoes... a  grand mountain of potatoes.

At the time she took to stack her plate, she was so busy and engaged with finding out how she was going to finish all the food that came from the endless trays, she was oblivious to Jackie's introduction. it was only until she heard Robin respond for something about buttons that it hit her.

She threw her head up and gulped down her food and laughed loudly before making a point to say to Jackie "First off, we need to start this year with a good record. And I don't think it works on just plain old buttons. You have to turn them into buttons first, I think..?"

[Responding to Olive Bennet and Robin oConner]

Jackie noticed Robin pointing at her own mouth, and realized that a bit of food must’ve been there. She used a spare napkin to brush off the bit of pork resting at the bottom of her lip, wondering how long it had been there. Once Robin began speaking, she was all ears, and answered her questions readily as she finished. “It’s not much of a private question, so you’re fine,”she paused, thinking for a moment. “Olive and I grew up in Kensington together and shared the same primary school,” she began, “plus, Olives kinda hard to miss with all the trouble she’s caused even without me.” She grinned in Olives general direction. “As for the buttons, we don’t need them right away. Anytime would be good.”

Her grin slowly turned into a frown as Olive began to speak of keeping a good record, and doubting the idea they had. “What? Olive, you’re usually the one convincing me to go along with a crazy idea! Where did your sense of adventure run off to?” Jackie took another small bite of pork chop, chewing it rapidly and swallowing before continuing. “And transfiguration works both ways I think.” To be honest, she really didn’t know. Her mother had always turned insects into buttons whenever needed, but she never noticed her do it the other way around. It didn’t matter though, they’d just have to experiment and figure out if it works.

Arielle took her seat at the Ravenclaw table, scanning around for any familiar faces. No one. Mournfully, she started on her fish and chips. She hated fish. She was an American student, so all the new Hogwarts foods felt weird. She was tired. She had just been called home for a Thanksgiving trip and had just gotten back to Hogwarts. Nobody, here that she knew. As the meal moved on to the dessert, trifle, which she did like, even though she had never tried it before. Honestly, in her dorm, she was the youngest member, which she wasn't used to. She had never been exactly popular, even though she was in the dorm of one of the most popular Ravenclaw witches ever, Cho Chang. In her dorm, one girl had spoken to her, since the start of term. She pulled out her favorite book and started reading. She read about many things, but "fantasy" that seemed like it could fit in at Hogwarts was her favorite. She started to put the book away, to head up to her dormitory, but she saw somebody standing near her. She jumped up, startled. The boy was in his first year, wore glasses like her, which lay over green eyes. He had blond hair and wore a panda hoodie.
