Comedy At Its F(light)inest
| ====CATRIONA PRESCOTT. | @Rebecca Loops== 490== |
Her Nimbus had not been touched since the shopkeeper had placed it in its box for safekeeping. To be honest, Catriona had already found herself to be quite bad at flying. She wanted to join the Quidditch team someday; she thought it might be fun to hit a few balls around, but most importantly, she wanted to piss her parents off and prove them wrong. So far, her 'progress' had not been good progress. But Catriona wasn't one to give up easily and decided that she might as well use some extra training.
Which was how she ended up here. Armed with her broom and her resolve, she was determined to teach herself how to fly, whether her parents liked it or not. Scotland was mostly cloudy at this time, and if she squinted, she could see the sun peeking out from behind some clouds that were hovering behind the trees near the training pitch. It was somewhat empty at this time, which was perfect for Catriona. She needed some peace and quiet to properly figure this out, and she really did not want any spectators.
Finding a patch of grass to begin her self-training, she settled her bag down on the side and placed her broom on the ground. Catriona frowned at it, a little unsure of where to begin. Perhaps this was a bad idea, in retrospect, but she was sure she could figure this out without needing anyone else's help. Catriona did not like depending on others for anything, which sometimes turned out to be a bad thing, but she often prided herself on her independence. This, too, would work out fine.
Picking the broom up, she decided to mount it like it had been demonstrated earlier—a leg on either side, hands on top of each other and placed on the handle, shoulders hunched, knees bent. Now what? She probably needed to concentrate, Catriona thought. Concentration was always important in these types of things.
Furrowing her brow, Catriona began to concentrate. She thought of the sky, and flying, and brooms, and when she decided she had her full of concentrating, pushed off, and promptly crashed into the ground.
