Quidditch Uagadou-Mahoutokoro vs. Ilvermorny - Summer 2023

It had rained earlier that day and a freshness could be felt across the Scottish Highlands at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, even from the starting point of the Quidditch Pitch. Miles took in a deep breath, steadying himself for the start of the game and he could breath easily and freely. He was ready for this match and ready for an Ilvermorny victory. TEAM ILVERMORNY!

"Alright, let's show 'em how to play quidditch!" he said to his teammates.

As we are adding an extra chaser in both teams (Pea's iNPC for the Ilvermorny team and a random NPC called Sota, below, for the Uagadou-Mahoutokoro team), we are granting both teams an extension for both strategies and posts.

This is an one time extension for 24 hours on the original deadline that we are granting to BOTH teams in order to help them come up with a new strategy, give the new players (Pea and whoever writes for the NPC) time to post and to accommodate for the fact that most players in this thread are not familiar with Quidditch so could benefit from the additional time.

This is purely for this one round.

The deadline for this round will be 144 hours from the time of the ORIGINAL mod post (the starter of this thread), rather than 120 for this one time.

The air was contagious, as it always was on days like these. Thick with anticipation, you couldn't escape it, and Phyllis wanted nothing more than to breathe it in. To relish the nerves and buzzing static and the chatter that spilled almost mindlessly from her lips as she fiddled with her gloves and leather armor. Others might choke on the energy, find it something anxious and unsavory, but Phyllis thrived here.

Soon she would be in the air, that place where everything felt most right, playing off teammates and grasping after victory. Maybe those fluttering snitch wings would elude them like they had last year, maybe this was finally the one. All she knew was her broom, her skill, and her teammates, a whole collection of wonderful people, whether newer or already fire-forged, and could picture being beside no one else. She was glad to be one of the older team members, imparting little tips and reassurances as she readied for the game: how to best secure gear, or a quick and sincere you'll do great.

And now they were taking to the pitch. It always seemed so big from down here, like they were bugs beneath the rising stands. Ants to the goals' giants. This, she supposed, was the grounding, humbling moment before the flight, before possibility sprawled out and defied gravity. She grinned, already sensing the buzz in her fingertips, and played easily off Miles' encouragement, her captain on a different stage. "Let's do this, Ilvermorny! Show them what we're made of!"

If she were more poetic, maybe she would have begun ranting about star dust. About sun flares and iron cores and all the stuff that made them mystical. As it was, she took to her broom and prepared to kick off, all of those things though unsaid, ready to play some Quidditch.

Louca walked on to the field, his grin contagious, excited to be here. Shaking his longish limbs, he held his broom firmly in his right hand, ready for the match to begin. Tossing his head slightly at the sound of the crowd, he looked around at his team, whooping in reply to some of his teammates comments. Pulling at the gloves on his hands, he was ready to go. The light mist of rain just added a whole other challenge as things would get a bit slick. But he was ready. He knew it. Another year older, he had some experience under his belt and Louca knew that he could definitely do better than he had last year because of it. "Let's go! We've got this!" He shouted, mounting his broom, preparing to kick off, his knees bending to give the most thrust.

A hint of rain drizzling on top of his perfectly curly hair. It is raining again. Not as horrible, but somehow the sky still remains gray as the last time he steps into the pitch against strangers. Well, kind of? he was not actually in the pitch last time, but it sort of felt like he was. He was just a benched keeper back then, terrified every time Phylicia, their main keeper, got close to the bludgers. But now he is actually making his debut, performing as one of the chasers in an official game, perhaps this time he should just worry about himself getting close to a bludger.

Tension and excitement are hitting him like lightning. The crowd was loud and wild, just like last time, but somehow since this is his first time actually playing, it was like they were cheering him on. And the stage is for him to shine.

Smiling while carrying his trusty Silver Arrow in his one hand. He would wink and wave around to the crowd with his ultimate charm.

Today was my first Quidditch game located in Scotland at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was a beautiful place and while there was a light drizzle of rain, it was still nice outside.
I was as ready as I could be. While I was nervous, I was also very excited. These nerves and excitement powered me to have the energy to play Quidditch as a chaser.
We cheered on for our team, giving us energy. “We can do this Ilvermorny!" I shouted. And hopefully we could.

Uagadou Chaser

Izîl stepped onto the quidditch pitch. She felt more at home here than anywhere else in this drama infused place called Hogwarts. She smirked slightly. How ironic that that the African team had to travel all the way to an uncomfortable place like Scotland just to play a game against the American team. Her own school mates would be supplemented by two competent looking Japanese students, though. She had never even thought much about the astounding diversity of the magical world, but clearly in this place everyone was here.

She glared at the other team. Ilvermorny. There were too many loud and obnoxious boys on their team. Izzi crinkled her nose. She did not like loud and obnoxious boys, and had felt severely oppressed by their mere presence in her cabin. Of course, she loved her male cousins dearly, but nevertheless, boys were such a nuisance.

Their words washed over Izzi. "Alright, let's show 'em how to play quidditch!" -+- "Let's do this, Ilvermorny! Show them what we're made of!" -+- "Let's go! We've got this!"

Quietly she said to Kissa: "Do they really think we do not know how to play quidditch? I dare say they shall learn a lesson today!"
