The first instance of magic for Kerry occured nearly after the move in London, at 8 year-old. After arguing with her parents when she begged them to return to Australia, the girl ran away from home. The problem was that she had run for a long time just as it was getting dark, and when she stopped, it was pitch black. Kerry began to cry, realising that she didn't know the way to this brand new house. And suddenly, just as she was imagining spending the night outside, a small orb of light appeared before her eyes. Sniffing, the little girl followed it, and the little light led her to her house. Finding her parents worried sick, Kerry began to realise that this building, which had seemed so foreign to her, was indeed her new home.

before Hogwarts (2012-2023)

Once upon a time, 11 years ago, a little girl was born in London from a loving couple. The father, James Foster, was a purely londonian young man and her mother, Lee Minjeong, was of south korean origin but had spent most of his life in Australia. The two adults were from pureblood families of wizards so they had no doubt about the magic abilities of their baby. Kerry was raised for her first year with her big brother, Jayden Hanjin Foster Lee, in London and then the little family moved out to Australia in a neighbourhood near Melbourne. This neighbourhood was composed of wizard-born and pureblood families, mostly of asian origins, who lived safe from muggles.

Kerry Foster, or her complete name Kerry Minji Foster Lee, lived as Minji Foster for the following years in Australia. The parents who were part of this community organised together to educate and teach all young wizards. So Kerry has rarely met muggles in the first years of her life, living mainly with friends from wizard-born or pureblood families in the little village. The little girl had a strong character, she was very sensitive and therefore compensated for this with a certain authority. She talked loudly and was always trying to get her friends involved in all sorts of adventures. She was happy with her simple life with her parents, her big brother, friends and... another brother ? Julian Yujin Foster Lee was born when Kerry was five. The siblings have directly developed a perfectly good relationship.

The life became very less easy for Kerry, at 7 year-old, when her parents decided to move out back to England, near London, the father wanted to be closer from his family and especially wanting to send his kids to Hogwarts. Discovering a new country, a new culture, is never easy for any age but has been a real shock for the little Kerry. She had to tell good bye to her friends, to every adults from the community she met, and say hi to new people. “Weird people with weird accent” as she was saying to her parents. Kerry was british by birth but had adopted a strong Australian accent due to living abroad. The few others children she met was always surprised by her accent and the girl was so upset of this situation. In addition, the family was not living anymore in a witch community so Kerry had to be very prudent about the secret of magic. She had her first instance of magic during this period and had finally to stay at home because of difficulties to control her power.

The new house was still nice, big with a garden, near London. The only one inconvenient was there look to be muggles everywhere and the girl was really not familiar with them. She rarely went out of the home on her own, unlike her freedom in Australia. Kerry began to argue with her brothers and was regularly grumpy. She tooks months to feel at home again.
The girl is in a real hurry to get to Hogwarts because she can't wait to make new friends, as she misses her old ones too much.

However James, in agreement with his wife, has always given his children a very strict upbringing... This is a double-edged sword: it can either push Kerry forward or hold her back. It all depends. Reducio James Foster is one of the descendants of the pure-blooded British Foster family. He was brought up in a strict and demanding environment where the boy was pushed to be the best in all intellectual disciplines. Fortunately for his parents, James has always been a book lover... So much so that he spent most of his days in the huge library hidden away in Foster Manor, on the outskirts of London. It was fair to say that the boy was highly cultured. In fact, his reading and knowledge were the only thing that allowed him to escape from the real world. Growing up and preparing for his beginning in Hogwarts while England was in turmoil was no an easy task for a child as anxious as he was. After the departure of Minister Cornelius Fudge from the top of the government, James returned to Hogwarts College in September 1996. The boy was placed in Serdaigle which was welcomed by his parents, his family being mainly in the house of the eagle or of the snake. James was worried during his first year, he was young but not fooled - he had overheard his parents talking about their more than relative confidence in the government - and he sensed that something serious was about to happen... He had lived his second year in a much darker world, when Hogwarts was in the hands of the Death Eaters. James could feel his blood - pure or whatever as he said - boiling when seeing one of the Carrows attacking so-called "impure" blood. However he only felt good at reading and sharing his knowledge : at the age of 12 he was unable to stand up for himself. James was present at the Battle of Hogwarts but, like all his fellow second years, he was evacuated. However, the image of Harry Potter bravely appearing in the Great Hall remained etched in his mind. After the battle and Voldemort's death, the following school term passed more quietly. James secretly had a new goal: being part of the Serdaigle Quidditch team. But who could trust a bookworm, he thought ruefully. Finally, the teenager dared to give a try in his fifth year. And, to everyone's surprise, he turned out to be extremely talented. James was a chaser in the Serdaigle team up to and including his seventh year and is still very proud of it. However, his parents had no intention of their son taking up a career in sport and, tempted though he was, he returned to his primary objective: to become a researcher in black and white magic. He passed all his ASPICs with honors and got a good job at the Ministry. James met his future wife when he had to work with Lee Minjeong: it was first love at first sight. They soon moved in together and gave birth to their first child only a year later. James's family, unlike his wife's one, was surprised but happy about the event. James resisted Minjeong's desire to stop working, feeling that she was sacrificing herself for their family, but the Korean woman was categorical: being a secret agent and a young mother was not compatible. Too many children had lost their parents in recent wars. A year and a half later, they gave birth to their first daughter: Kerry Minji Foster Lee. It's the perfect way to describe Kerry's relationship with her mother, Minjeong. The latter was determined to be less strictful and demanding than her own parents but finally was nearly the same by giving to her girl a very strict upbringing... Although she showed much more love for her daughter. Minjeong is constantly reining in her daughter's outbursts of temper, but tries to maintain a good bond with her. Reducio Lee Minjeong is one of three descendants of the South Korean Lee family. This is a pure-blood family that is careful to preserve this particularity. Like her younger brother and sister, she was brought up in a strict and demanding environment. The Lees moved to Australia when Minjeong was only 7 years old. The child had to learn English quickly in order to top the small class at the private pure-blood school where she was enrolled. Because yes, Minjeong's parents were determined to give to their children the best chance of being part of the best in society, and they had to honour those opportunities. Minjeong learnt to play the piano and the violin, and practised taekwondo from an early age. At the age of 11, she left her country on her own to attend the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft in the United States. Minjeong was assigned to the house of the thunderbird, the house of adventurers, to the general surprise of the Lees who expected her to be assigned to the house of the horned snake, which housed the most learned. The Korean girl, who specialised in Defence Against the Dark Arts, had a brilliant education and left the school with a perfect diploma in her pocket. Minjeong was offered a job as a secret agent for the British Ministry of Magic, in collusion with the US Ministry. It was a dangerous job, but one in which the Korean excelled. The only downside was that she was desperately lonely. She had been forbidden to have a boyfriend throughout her complete schooling and Minjeong, then a young woman, was so far away her family. Following another meeting at the English Ministry, she was asked to work closely with a young man by the name of James Foster, a researcher in black and white magic. The two adults quickly became close, so close that only a year later, Minjeong gave birth to their first child, Jayden Hanjin Foster Lee. This new arrival in the couple was unexpected to say the least and Minjeong make the hard choice to left her dangerous carrier in order to take care of her first child. This choice will have been difficult to accept for her family who stayed in Australia, family who would have liked to see her wait longer before her first child. But Minjeong was brave enough to put up with their disagreements : she was finally felr warmly surrounded with James and Jayden. The couple got married shortly after that, and thanskfully the complete Lee family came and have given their blessing tou the young woman and man. One year and a half after, Minjeong and James gave birth to their first girl : Kerry Minji Foster Lee.

Their parents just hope that, now the two are at Hogwarts, they will be able to get along better. Reducio Jayden was the first child in the Foster-Lee family and we can't say he was easy to deal with. From an early age, the boy showed a particular aptitude for getting into mischief and pushing his parents to their limits: he was polite but extremely boisterous. His behaviour seems to have prompted his parents to bring him up with an iron fist, but this is in no way reflected in his insouciant behaviour. The best period in the boy's life was when they moved to Australia, from when he was 2 and a half until he was 8 and a half. James loved this country, their life in a totally witchy community, and by extension the opportunity to have a number of playmates. Of course he was noticed for his misbehaviour, but everyone knew that it was good-natured. James's return to England was not easy. He was more energetic and unbearable than ever. At the same time, he had his first instance of magic. After this event, the boy settled into his new life and was extremely happy to go to Hogwarts.
