As a seventh year, Alexx felt as though she should be surrounded by her forever-friends; a group of individuals who she had met along the way during this crazy journey that she could attend summer camp with and not have to worry about the grueling feeling of loneliness. Alas, it felt as though those she knew thinned out as the years went on, going off to do their own things, none of them keeping in touch. Or perhaps some other circumstances came across them, and life simple swept them away. Alexx didn't know exactly what happened, but whatever the reason was, it left her wandering the camp grounds on an afternoon walk, kicking rocks beneath her feet.

She hadn't minded being alone before, that never felt like an issue. But as life went on, she began to realize more and more how much these relationships mattered. She used to be so stuck up; anyone in the grades beneath her she wouldn't talk to. But on days like these, she found herself dying for a companion. Anyone that would talk to her. God, she was desperate. She disgusted herself.

While that might be a silly way to approach these feelings, that's teenage angst for you. Alexx felt as though she had gotten better about it in some regards. Several times she had managed to put her pride behind her and swallow some hard pills in order to get through the day. But there was a voice in the back of her mind that still screamed that she was above some company, even if that might not always be true. Perhaps it had to do with her upbringing. But that sounded like a crisis for seventh year.

For now, she was still coping with the loss of her sixth year. She'd spent most of it to herself, sorting through some mental and family related things. Curse being a pureblood with unusual family dynamics! Some might think it's the dream, being rich with everything handed to you. And maybe it is- but Alexx's family was... Unconventional. And as the eldest daughter, that got the best of her from time to time. It seemed the more that she aged, the more she had to confront these things.

And Alexx was dying for someone to understand her. She'd never repeat that out loud, but deep down that's what she craved.

But for now, all she had was this campground and the rock she was kicking around pitifully.

A few days had passed since the start of summer camp, and Olive was still trying to get used to being by herself, without her parents to accompany and watch her every move. The loneliness she had experienced these past few days in her cabin, barely talking to anyone was depressing. She kept wondering over and over whether this would be her day to day once she actually started her first year at the wizarding school, which made her realize how much she dreaded September.

The future Ravenclaw decided to go for a walk in the campgrounds, outside the depressing, colourless Theastral cabin in which she had been located since the start of camp. Sora, her brown ferret followed behind her, observing the leaves and occasionally sniffing flowers or disturbing the bees and insects situated in the vast grounds of the Hogwarts castle. Olive was still in awe whenever she looked up at the school, wondering how mesmerizing it would be inside.

Then again, the thought of her sister and not being able to tell her all that she had accomplished to do up to that point due to her death a few years before was one of the main motives of why she was so discouraged to start her school year. Madeline had been the main reason and motivation to go to Hogwarts for Olive, but now that she was not in her life anymore, Olive did not feel like it was worth to be excited about it any longer.

So it was safe to say that, that afternoon Olive was definitely not in the best of moods as she walked absentmindedly, looking at the dry summer dirt on the floor, getting further and further away from her cabin until she suddenly had to come to a halt when she bumped into presumably someone quite taller than her. Olive did not manage to look up to the person, only looking at their feet that had previously been kicking some rocks and pebbles situated on the floor.

When she finally managed to look up at that person and properly interact, she started fidgeting and stumbling upon her own words which would try and form into a rushed and embarrassing apology. "Sorry! I wasn’t really looking and I…. Uh… well I think I bumped into you. Hopefully I didn’t hurt you or anything, right?”

Suddenly being jolted out of her thoughts and into reality, Alexx felt someone bump into her slightly. Though the hot-headed Slytherin was usually quick to anger, even she found it a bit hypocritical to point fingers when she was also not paying much attention. So, she put her annoyance aside and decided not to jump the gun with exclamations.

"Sorry! I wasn’t really looking and I…. Uh… well I think I bumped into you. Hopefully I didn’t hurt you or anything, right?” The other girl said. Alexx noted the stumbling and stuttering, and it almost reminded her of herself in her first year, barely able to talk to even people of her own age. Alexx assumed this girl must be young and rather nervous. And, well, what kind of model student would she be if she yelled at a measly lowerclassman simple for bumping into her?

Alexx cleared her throat and quirked an eyebrow. "You think you bumped into me?" Alexx quipped playfully. "I think I'll live. I'd say you should watch where you're going, but I wasn't paying much attention either."

One thing Alexx hated about the younger students was that she saw herself in so many of them. That wasn't inherently a bad thing, but it allowed them to have a soft spot in her heart. That wasn't always the case; there were some younger than her who she certainly gave a hard time in her earlier years when it wasn't necessary. But wisdom comes with age, Alexx supposed. Not everyone is out to get you.

"Are you new around here? I've been at Hogwarts for a while, you start to recognize faces. And I don't really recognize yours." That was only half of the truth. When Alexx were slightly more involved, yes, she recognized plenty of faces. But now... Well, some she knew, and some were just people in a crowd. Still, if Alexx's family taught her anything, it's how to make polite conversation so you don't seem rude.
