Leave The Leaves Be
Finally, the season that everyone had waited for so long had arrived. It was autumn time! Leaves turned into beautiful crimson colors, the cold crisp air was refreshing but not too harsh on you. Of course, he'd prefer summer over this season any time, but he could work with this too! Remy was hopping on leaves, listening to the satisfying sound they made. It reminded him of the crackling sounds that fireplaces made. There was a huge grin plastered on his face, and it would be hard to hack it off. He took a quick look at the lake, wondering how many more weeks would pass before it'd freeze.
Suddenly, he gasped audibly. Lo and behold, the divinity itself had laid upon his eyes. Multiple piles of leaves had been raked neatly. It was perfect. Remy hadn't wreaked havoc for a few days, this was his ultimate chance. The ultimate chance to have fun and destress himself. He had been working so hard, trying to learn everything in this maze of a castle. All his higher-ups were so intimidating, they seemed like they knew it all. It only got Remy thinking, how long did it take for them to learn the ropes?
Shaking those thoughts from his head, he waddled towards one of the piles. He had a great idea in his mind. Scooping some leaves from the pile and hugging them tightly, he was ready for war. Now that he was armed, Remy only needed an unsuspecting target to practice on. Maybe get a good laugh out of it. Hiding before the aforementioned pile of leaves, he'd occasionally peek to see if there was someone to shower with these leaves.

Leave The Leaves Be
Ellara embarked on her daily walk around the school grounds, no longer playing her game of leaping from rock to rock, after having a few trust issues with the shoreline. The last two times she'd been over next to the lake, a girl had either fallen down and gotten all muddy, or fallen in. Rosie had leaped right up and gone on with her day, not a care in the world, but the other girl, whose name she'd never learned, seemed pretty hurt. Better to be safe than sorry, and plus, she was always up for trying new things and exploring new places!
The Hufflepuff girl hummed a soft tune - something that had been lingering since the Halloween Ball - and wandered throughout the trees, admiring the colorful array of falling leaves in rich oranges, yellows, browns, reds, and everything in between! She'd always wondered about the type of people who said they hated fall. Strange people indeed. Her neighbor, who was a year younger than her, had been one of those people. Amelia Bergeron always complained every day on the walk to school about how she just couldn't wait for it to be winter! Some part of Ellara had to admit life was better without her in it.
Rounding the corner, Ellara gasped in delight at the sight of a few piles of leaves, immediately forming a plan in mind. Looking around for a moment to ensure no one else was around, she crept up to one of the leaf piles (incidentally, she unknowingly selected the one where Remy crouched, hidden away in the foliage) and formulated a plan. Maybe she could hide inside, wait for someone to sneak by, and surprise them! It seemed like a perfectly viable idea to her, and so she moved to hide underneath the leaves, completely unprepared and unaware of the looming attack!

Remy had sat there for a while now. It was a miracle how Remy, such an impatient boy managed to crouch in one place for that long. Maybe if it was for the pranks, he'd be able to sit for hours and hours behind these piles of leaves. He was sure that by this time he was an expert when it came to the leaves of Hogwarts' trees. He had thoroughly inspected each and every leaf in here, waiting for his prey to arrive.
Just as he was about to give up, knowing that he'd lose his mind if someone didn't arrive soon, he spotted someone who could potentially be a big catch. There was a redheaded girl, obviously in her own worlds. She was skipping on the rocks, before deciding that it wasn't appropriate. It would have been quite amusing to see the girl fall flat on her backside and in the cold water. However, that would ruin his element of surprise and plans to attack.
He licked the corner of his lips, waiting for the perfect moment. The girl was getting closer and closer, then awfully close. It got Remy a bit confused, he furrowed his brows. He noticed that the girl was coming his way, and he was already waiting for his demise. To his advantage, she seemed to be totally oblivious of his existence as she crouched right next to him. Remy held his breath tight, not risking it. He did not want to reveal himself at any cost.
She tried hiding under the leaves, and Remy struggled to keep his mouth shut. It was so ridiculous, she really didn't see a thing, did she! She seemed to have the same goal as him, too bad he had arrived earlier! He recognized her, knowing that he had seen her earlier. However, he had never caught her name! He slowly gathered up some leaves, before letting out a warcry, screeching like a possessed banshee.
He dunked all the leaves that he had in his arms, straight inside her robes through the neckline of her shirt. Knowing that after her initial aftershock, she'd probably want revenge. That's what Remy would have done. Grinning like the madman he was, the little boy ran behind one of the piles of leaves and started gathering leaves for the second attack.

Ellara was completely oblivious to the oncoming attack, figuring the slight rustling of one of the nearby life piles was simply a result of the gentle breeze blowing over the grounds next to the Great Lake. How could she know that another student would be following her exact same mindset? Her plan was simple: She'd hide under the leaf pile, then jump out and scare someone when they walked by. Maybe a few leaves would get thrown in their direction, but no real harm would be done, of course! This was her plan, but Slytherin First Year Remy Alto clearly had a different one.
All of a sudden, in a flurry of color and the sound of crunching leaves booming into her ears, a strange force suddenly sprang up from the nearby leaf pile, barreling towards her at incredible speeds! Before she knew it, she'd been assaulted, leaves thrown her way, and suddenly someone had put leaves in the neckline of her robe?! She let out a startled gasp beginning to argue, "Hey-!", but the figure scurried away to take cover.
Okay, it was all fun and games, whoever it was, but dunking leaves into her robes were taking it much too far! She brushed the leaves out of the fabric of her cloak, thinking strategy. The redhead glared daggers at her opponent and prepared for battle, scooping up ammunition of her own. She wouldn't let anyone push her around, much less someone attacking her with one of her favorite aspects of her favorite season!
Swiftly, Ellara compiled armfuls of leaves and darted towards the cowering figure, dumping the load onto their head. (She was nice enough to have the decency to not drop it down his robes, as well.)

Leave The Leaves Be
"Hey-"
Remy's attention was caught by a yelp from the girl across this minefield of leaves. He looked at her for maybe a split second before resuming what he was doing before. The boy was arming himself with an impressive amount of leaves in a hurried manner, muttering something that resembled a countdown under his breath.
When he was done, he looked up to see if the girl was still there. To his amazement, she was already gone! Like a ghost, like the wind! He looked around himself, but it was too late. She had already dunked a whole armful of her most deadly weapons on his head. Remy let out a very feminine scream, holding his hands close to his chest, his tiny fingers curled up into fists. When she was done, he rolled dramatically on the ground to take cover.
"I've been gravely wounded," the young boy reported to the whatever invisible imaginary creature he was talking to. He brushed off most of the leaves on him away and carried on with his initial task. Remy Alto had made it his mission to get revenge now. He practically dove inside the pile of leaves and started throwing small balls of leaves at the girl, hoping that at least one of these deadly attacks would hit her. He didn't even bother to aim and was blindly propelling the leaves that the trees had shed not that long ago.
"Prepare for your judgment, for I am here to punish you!" he howled, probably turning a few heads of people visiting the great lake. He was having fun, winding off from the stress that the first year in Hogwarts had brought him. Learning was fun, but so were these childish ways of leisure that he engaged in. Even being the victim of these attacks was enjoyable.

Ellara giggled at the boy's startled reaction and took cover behind another leaf pile, finally recognizing her opponent as a Slytherin boy! Probably a First Year like herself. While he cried out in pain in response to her perfectly-timed attack, Ellara prepared her defense strategy, scanning the scenery out in front of her. She'd been prepared for a jump scare, not a full-out battle, but she'd be witty enough to figure something out.
They stood in a grassy area dotted with a few trees over near the shore of the lake. There was a good supply of leaves scattered around, so cutting off the ammunition probably wouldn't be that viable of a plan, but perhaps she could try different tactics... The trees were an option, but most were brittle in the soon-to-be winter months. She could try luring him over near the water?
She poked her head from around the giant leaf pile just in time to hear the boy scream a war cry. Uh oh, it looked like it was time for her to get running! Springing up like a gazelle, Ellara shouted back, "Only if you can catch me, Slytherin!" and darted back across the grounds without looking back.

Leave The Leaves Be
He continued propelling his leaves blindly like a machine. Occasionally he'd peek to see if she was still there and he was not wasting his energy on attacking the air. He got a peek long enough to reveal to him that she was in Hufflepuff. He never really had the chance to socialize with any Hufflepuffs. This one was really testing his patience! Now she was just asking for him to chase her down and win!
If you'd listen closely enough, you could hear that he was giggling. He was thinking about how he could roughhouse her down. Remy was an extremely rowdy kid with no idea of what personal space and privacy were. He'd often annoy the rest of the Slytherin boys by constantly invading whatever remaining pieces of privacy they had any more.
She peeked like a mongoose out of the leaf pile, then proceeded to run like a gazelle. Remy really was unsure if she was human! She was quick on her feet, making Remy scurry on his place for a while before springing up and sprinting after her too. He noticed her plan quickly, she was trying to bring him near the water! She was not only smart and fast but cunning too! A-ha! He had caught her redhanded.
His glory didn't last for that long, as he stumbled over his untied shoelaces. This had happened at least 10 times this week. Truth was, Remy was still clumsy when it came to tying shoelaces, so he just opted for leaving them open rather than spending a good two minutes trying to solve how did you tie your shoe again. He flailed his arms like he was trying to grab on to something. In the end, he fell into his demise. Remy, face first, fell on a pile of leaves.
Letting a troubled groan, he turned around to see the bright sky. He felt like he was going to drown in the myriad leaves. Extending his hand towards the sky, like he was reaching for it, Remy started his theatrical and overdramatic performance.
"P-Please. Hufflepuff girl, come a little closer. Hear my last words,"he hissed with a calm but pained voice. He wasn't even hurting, but the fake ache in his tone really made it seem so. "The sky, it's so beautiful. I'm sorry I had to leave this way. My most prized possession, masses of chocolate frog cards, is hidden in-"he gasped for air, clasped his shirt from where his heart should be. Then he dropped his arm to the side, closed his eyes and stuck his tongue out in a comical way to amuse her. He was dead.
