Summer Camp '23 Unofficial Spin the Bottle Beans! - Group 3

Roksana didn't usually get involved in all this...drama, but she was willing to do whatever seemed the least bit interesting at summer camp. Besides, her mother had told her to put herself out there, and Roksana always took her advice. Roksana didn't think that kissing random people was what her mother had in mind, exactly. But, it was something, and "something" was a start. So...what happened now?

While the rules were being explained, Roksana looked at the other kids around her, all about her age, but none she recognised, unfortunately. Roksana looked at the beautiful mat she was sitting on, red koi fish swimming in water. Roksana breathed in deep, played with her ponytail, looked at the mat, and then stared at the glass bottle in the middle of the group. Of course. Roksana was still listening to the instructions, especially to the part concerning the "good" and "bad" beans.

Roksana, suddenly feeling like she was going to get cold feet, immediately reached over to the platter of snacks nearby and grabbed some small pieces of cheese and stuffed it into her mouth, swallowing hard to keep it down. Well, at least she felt better. When it was her turn, and she realised what she was supposed to do and to whom, Roksana squeaked, "Well, here goes nothing..." Roksana leaned in and kissed the girl on the cheek.

It would probably be a while before she was ready for mouth-to-mouth. A long while. After all, she'd never played this sort of game before, but if all went well, then Roksana was sure that this would all end fine, and she wouldn't have to worry about a thing. But it was going to be a while before that happened. And besides, it was still the beginning of the game, anything could happen.

The game had been advertised as some kind of friendship builder, so Pyxis eagerly signed up. It was his parents’ belief that connections and networking were at the root of success, and while this bit of fun was clearly not that intense, he thought at least a part of that sentiment could apply here. The pro was obvious: he’d go into his first year of magic school already knowing people (some more than he wanted to), and that could be a great benefit to him. The con was that awkwardness could prevail instead, and a broken bridge was much worse than a non-existent one.

Pyxis almost considered not showing up to the event as his nerves about the possibility of kissing someone - or multiple people - were built up to its brim. But he decided to borrow some of that Hellebore tradition and bottled up his feelings, showing up at the specified location on time. He’d never been a fan of fishes - viewing them or eating them - so he was unsure of how to feel about his group’s mat, but he did like the pretty wave designs. He was also flabbergasted by the outnumbering of his gender in the seated circle. At that point, he wanted to bail again, but his body threw itself onto the mat in protest, as if it wanted to get in the way of his brain’s decision-making process.

On the note of prizes however, any apprehension in Pyxis’ mind disappeared. He was nothing if not competitive, and prizes were his language. He would kiss everyone in this circle if it meant winning something. The host sent off some green sparks - how did he do that?? - and Pyxis went for the bottle when it was his turn.

The bottle slowly came to a stop and, to his surprise, its tip pointed towards one of the only other boys in the group. He couldn’t be sure if that was lucky or unlucky, but soldiered on in the name of the beans. Pyxis approached the boy who was much taller than he was and offered his palm. He had kissed the knuckles of several girls before, and he was sure it couldn’t be too different from doing so with a boy.

“May I kiss your hand?” he asked, and waited to see if the boy would allow him the honor of securing three beans. If the boy placed his hand in Pyxis’, he would kiss the back of it quickly and return to his spot.

Lorelai rather loved games, so she decided to sign up for spin the bottle. The girl had played this game a few times, but she had never kissed someone on the lips. This would probably be the same thing. The Brazilian girl had chosen a rather simple look for the day. Shorts, a tank top, which was white and a jacket. It wasn't cold, but she liked the jacket, which was also white. The girl didn't really care about how she looked, and today wasn't any different. She just missed one thing which she always did in the mornings. Music. She loved to blast music in the morning, in her room, of course. Lorelai sat down in the circle, she observed there was food, out of the circle, she wasn't hungry, but she might be in the future. So, she smiled. Then, the bottle decided. A girl named Danielle had landed on Lorelai. She wouldn't let her kiss her lips, but if she asked to kiss her hand or cheek, she would let her, since she needed to get beans. And, Lorelai would be happy to help. She didn't want to win, she was just there to have fun, and enjoy the Summer.

Reuben was not exactly sure why he had signed up for a game like spin the bottle. Maybe it was for the rewards, maybe it was to encourage his newfound friend, Tone, or maybe it was because they had a choice to kiss the person on their cheek.

Reuben smiled at Tone, and introduced himself to everyone. "Hey! I'm Reuben". He sat down and waited while everyone came, wondering which one of them would kiss him, or which one he would have to kiss. Of course, he was going to do everything to win, and he hoped whoever his partner ended up being would cooperate too.

As a significantly younger looking boy's bottle landed on Reuben, Reuben wondered what his decision would be, whether to kiss or retreat, but it seemed like the boy also had a competitive spirit, and asked Reuben if he could kiss his hand. Reuben held back a giggle at how serious the boy sounded and offered his hand. "All yours", he said, a small, encouraging smile on his face.

As the boy kissed his hand quickly and went, Reuben looked at the others. There were quite a lot of girls. Reuben noticed a girl who was wearing a tank top and waved to her, walking over. "Hey! I'm Reuben, how are you doing?", he asked the girl. She looked friendly, and that somehow attracted Reuben to her, which was the reason he had approached her.

Kanae signed u for this little game to get new friends across different wizarding schools. The game was arranged by a guy from Makoutoro, the school she was from so it was okay. The girl's first thought this'll be a fun little game to joke about since she didn't really mind and liked having fun. But then it turned out to be a competition for collecting good beans. Kanae didn't really mind kissing random people's hands or cheeks as long as they weren't uncomfortable or were doing this without their own consent. But she did want to save her first actual kiss for someone special. Kanae is competitive till a certain degree but she would kiss a ton of people's hands to win. It's just hands afterall, you can wash 'em.

Her group had about 10 people in it when the game started. People spun the bottle and the bottle landed on others. Now it was her turn. Kanae spun the bottle and it landed on a seemingly tall boy with brown curly hair. The girl wouldn't lie, he looked good but she preferred personality over looks overall. She recalled the rules and decided to kiss the boy on the hand. Kanae approached the brown haired boy, she looked him with a straight face and asked in the most casual way possible. "May I kiss your hand Mr.?"

Her plan was to kiss his hand, get her beans, and go back to her place as if nothing happened. As simple as that.

Danielle wasn't the biggest fan of these types of games. She found the idea of kissing random people for rewards kind of strange, but of course was she the type to turn down rewards (and possibly an overseas friend)? Thus she had signed her name up on the list and showed up in a mint-colored hoodie and black pants to play.
They had split the main group up, since it was rather big, and a Japanese boy led Danielle's group to a blue and white mat with koi fish swimming on it, and they sat down. He explained the rules, and once he was finished, Danielle looked around to see who was in the group with her. They all looked around her age, which was a relief.
Two people spun the bottle before her, and when it came to her turn, it landed on a girl around her age, but from another school. Danielle took a breath.
"Is this okay with you?" Danielle asked the girl first, and if she said yes, she would move across the circle to lightly kiss her on the cheek. She returned to her seat on the koi fish mat and waited for more people to make their move.

A boy around Lorelai's age, approached her. She didn't know him. He was probably from another school, but he seemed nice, so she decided to introduce herself. "Hi Reuben!" "My name is Lorelai, and I'm doing great! How are you?" she said excitedly, happy to meet a new person. Also, she had never heard that name. Then, Danielle the girl who had landed on her asked if it was okay with her to kiss her cheek. Lorelai did not mind, so she simply nodded. "It's completely fine with me." said the girl, with a smile on her face. Maybe they'd start a conversation later and become friends? She seemed to be around Lorelai's age, and Lorelai thought she was a bit nervous, since she took a breath, but, maybe not. She knew everyone was around her age, but, some people looked a bit older than they were. Like, taller or more mature. Still, Danielle was the last to spin the bottle, so she knew she was in a bit of pressure, since everyone would probably be looking at the girls. Most people anyway. Well, she was observing as everyone picked what they wanted to do, so it was probably the same her turn.

Oliver decided ( was forced by Ava to ) sign up for a bottle spin game that a student from Mahoutokoro arranged. It was something that was definitely out of his normal comfort zone, but just for the fun of it ( and pressure from V ) he joined. He went with V to the place, before he sat on the ground. He saw that there were some familiar faces that he had seen at Hogwarts, and others from other schools, he didn’t spin the bottle on the first round, however, when someone spun the bottle, ( a girl with brown hair who he didn’t recognize ) it landed on him! He was silent. The girl was rather cute, however he didn’t let it show. She got up, and went up to him. Calmly, she asked “May I kiss your hand Mr?” “Brown, Oliver Brown. Yes you can, honestly you can choose whether you want to or not. It’s nice to meet you.” Oliver said before giving a warm smile. He gave her his hand, and she kissed it, just a swift kiss. It was free beans after all, it was all just for fun. It didn’t really mean anything. He gave her another warm smile, before putting his hand down.

	The game had begun! What a game it was going to turn out to be! The first pair, Roksana and Ava, didn't seem to get off to a good start because although Roksana tried to be proactive and kiss her partner on the cheek, Ava seemed to freeze in place. As a result, the two failed to obtain a pass from Tone. Of course, as a consolation prize, Tone gave Roksana 1 good bean. The second pair, Hana and Kayla weren't able to break the trend of freezing. But unlike the first couple where only one had froze, both participants ended up freezing together. So in a way, they were actually in tune with eachother. But it was a bad way to be in synch because it ended with both of them failing to obtain any good beans this time. As a result, Tone let the two girls take a seat off to the side. Once they were able to focus, they'd be put back in the game should they wish to rejoin and participate again. The third pair, Kanae and Oliver were the first couple to actually obtain 3 good beans. Kanae opted to go for a kiss on the hand and Oliver agreed to let her do so. The two knew how to play the game because they'd just become the first pair to actually pass the round! Hopefully this good luck streak would continue for them! Maybe the last two pairs would follow their lead. The fourth pair, Pyxis and Reuben also seemed to know how to play the game. Pyxis went over to Reuben and asked for permission to kiss his hand and Reuben graciously accepted it. This marked them as being the second couple to successfully pass this round with the maximum amount of beans. The fifth pair, Danielle and Lorelai were the final pair of the round and they carried on the momentum of the third and fourth pairs. Danielle offered a kiss on the cheek and Lorelai accepted the action. As a result, both of them managed to obtain 3 good beans to add to their collection. And so, the first round ended. But more was yet to come, even though a few of the participants were sitting out this next round. The bottle started to spin again.
