@Madison BennettJust as they thought, the Study Room was completely empty. There was a scent of melted candle vax from the burning candelabras in the room and it was slightly warmer in there than in the corridors. Some student had forgotten a book on one of the desks and on the floor lay some blanc parchment pages and candy paper. Apparently the room had not been properly cleaned since Friday but that did not matter.
Simon closed the door behind them and took a couple of steps inside the room "Nope, no pixies", he said jokingly and turned around, facing Madison. "I'm beginning to think it's just hogwash. I'm guessing the only mischievous pixie in here would be you."
He sat down on one of the desks with his feet hovering an inch above the ground. "It's so good to be back with you in these halls and rooms," he said. "You don't realize how boring it has been without you... Oh, by the way. Clara sent me a letter the other day. They will be releasing a summer edition with new scents soon. She asked specifically if you would want to be part of the test group. That means you will get some samples, you rate them and send it back to her. I believe you are one of her favorite customers now." He rolled his eyes. "She was actually very impressed with you when you met in Kensington. Like, the way you dress and all. I don't remember if I've told you that?"
It was pretty clear that his Squib sister liked Madison, despite Madison being a witch. Perhaps that was because Madison did not look like his sister imagined wizardkind to look like. For Clara, it had been unimaginable that a pureblooded girl could dress so fashionable. Having had to endure her prejudice, Simon was happy that his best friend had proved his sister wrong in that regard. Clara seemed more and more open-minded ever since Simon started at Hogwarts, to his relief (but she still wanted to have as little to do with the wizarding world as possible). He figured it would have been much easier if his sister had been magical, same as Madion's brother. Half-blood families with Muggles and Squibs in them could be quite complicated.

Simon closed the door behind them and took a couple of steps inside the room "Nope, no pixies", he said jokingly and turned around, facing Madison. "I'm beginning to think it's just hogwash. I'm guessing the only mischievous pixie in here would be you."
Madison playfully nudged him and smiled innocently but with a slight twinkle in her eye "Me? A mischievous pixie? Never" Madi says with a giggle. Madi sat on the same desk as Simon and smiled "I promise Si. I was so bored in my room on my own last week, I was going crazy with nothing to really do Madi says as she listens to the rest of what Simon says. "Yeah i'd love to test them for her Madi says with a smile. She was happy that Simon's sister liked her, though she knew that Simon didn't think the highest of his sister. Madison shook her head when Simon said the last bit of his sentence "No I don't think you did, but I'm glad she approved, though I wouldn't have cared either way, since it wasn't her I was meeting or desperate to see Madi says with a smile.
Madi placed her hand on top of Simons and smiled "I really did love having you come and visit, it's going to be horrible not seeing each other once we're back home for the summer holidays in July, i'd love to get to celebrate my birthday with my best friend, kinda like what we did for your birthday here, before I went on holiday" Madi says with a smile. She and Simon had shared Cinnamon and Vanilla Buns together and just hung out for his birthday. Madi had kind of given him his present already as she's given him the bracelets when they were at her home in Kensington just after New Years. "My dad really liked meeting you Simon, he said you were very gentlemanly and very polite, and someone who might be good at keeping his daughter in check, though I he doesn't know the full story of course" Madi says with a giggle as she picks up one of the books next to her.
It was one of the many Alice in Wonderland books that were laying around the Study Room. Madison had never read this book before and so she showed it to Simon, "Do you know what this book is about Si, i've never heard of it before. My parents never read it to me that I can remember, most of the books I got read as a child, read themselves to me so my parents never had to read me a bedtime story, since Mum was busy and Dad was away with Quidditch, my brother and I were usually in bed by the time they got home on weekdays, though on weekends Dad would tuck me into bed and tell me all about his Quidditch game, so that was kind of like my bedtime story I guess" Madi says with a smile.

@Madison Bennett"No I don't think you did, but I'm glad she approved, though I wouldn't have cared either way, since it wasn't her I was meeting or desperate to see."
What does she mean by that? Did she dress up like that for me that time in Kensington? Simon just smiled in silence for a response. It was indeed going to be hard to be apart during the summer break, as Madison said. His family was going to Greece for a week in August, but maybe Simon could visit her again in Kensington, perhaps even surprise her on her birthday?
"Yeah, I know. It sucks. But maybe we can visit each other. And we'll stay in contact via owls all summer. Except for when I'm going to Greece, of course. But I'll think you'll survive a week without hearing from me", said Simon with a cheeky grin.
Whether I'm going to survive without hearing from you is another matter, he thought and felt a small sting in his chest.
"My dad really liked meeting you Simon, he said you were very gentlemanly and very polite, and someone who might be good at keeping his daughter in check, though he doesn't know the full story of course."
Simon blushed a little and looked down in the floor with, smiling. "Well, my parents doesn't know the full story either. They think we are this complete exemplary students that never step out of the line. I mean, just think of all the stuff we would miss if we didn't? At least, neither of us is doing poorly in school. Sure, I struggle in Potions class and Transfiguration, but I cannot say I haven't put my back into it and handed in all of my homework in time so far."
When Madison picked up Alice in Wonderland from the desk and asked what it was about, he was reminded of the fact that Madison was not raised as a Muggle, same as he. While his mother and father read some books from the wizarding world, like The Tales from Beedle the Bard, they mostly read Muggle books to him and his sister. Of course they could not know if one of them, or both, would inherit their father's magical blood or become Squibs.
"I'm sorry your parents didn't have the time to read to you when you and your brother were little," he said. "This one is about a young girl with a vivid imagination, not unlike you yourself in fact –" (He nudged her playfully in her side) "– that follows a rabbit and tumbles down a rabbit hole. If you've ever heard that expression, I'm most certain it's from this book by Lewis Carroll. Alice ends up in this weird world called the Wonderland. I guess it's kind of like being a Muggleborn, only to end up in Hogwarts and discovering that there is a wizarding world. Despite it being a children's book, it's quite good actually. You should read it some time."
He noticed that someone had carved out their initials on the desk in front of them. It said 'L + V'. He nodded to the engraving. "Reminds me of the Boathouse. We haven't been there in a while. Do you still think our initials are there?"

Madison felt her heart drop a bit but smiled at Simon and giggled. one whole week without hearing from you, I don't know if I can do that she thought to herself.
She giggled when Simon told her about his parents "We have had some pretty awesome adventures together Si, you're right. My parents are oblivious too, Mum is so focused on my brother that she doesn't really notice or care about my grades, plus the only one Dad cares about is Flying and I'm nailing that one anyway" Madi says with a smile.

Madi listens to what Simon says about the book and smiles, shrugging her shoulders "It's ok Si, since it never really happened, I thought it was normal for parents to not read books to their children and since my parents didn't have to, most of the time they chose not to" she said. She giggles and nudges him back as he says the bit about the girl in the book, whose name is Alice, having a vivid imagination like herself, which Madi took as a compliment. "Hehe i might do, though one question, why would someone follow a rabbit down a dark and dirty hole, it just seems a bit strange to me and slightly crazy, but maybe i'll give it a go" Madi says with that ever present sweet smile.
Madi looks to see the initials carved on the desk that Simon pointed out and smiles "It reminds me of that too Si and I expect so. We should go back down there I agree, though maybe when it's not as chilly outside" Madi says with a giggle as she finds the tip of an old quill, looking at Simon with a cheeky look "should we join them and carve either our nickname initials or our actual initials in there Si?" Madi asks with a giggle.

@Madison Bennett"Hehe i might do, though one question, why would someone follow a rabbit down a dark and dirty hole, it just seems a bit strange to me and slightly crazy, but maybe i'll give it a go."
"Well..." Simon tried to come up with some sort of rational explanation from what he remembered from the book. "Alice was not like other girls. She was insatiably curious and I don't think she saw the hole as something dirty or scary that should be avoided. To her, it was the most natural thing in the world to crawl down the hole." He shrugged his shoulders. "If you wanna try it some time you might as well drag me along with you. I've always wondered what the Wonderland would be like," he said, playing along with the jokes.
When talking about the initials on the desk, Madison found something sharp – a tip of an old quill – and looked at him. "Should we join them and carve either our nickname initials or our actual initials in there Si?"
Simon's conscience caught up with him. It was one thing to carve their nick names on an old door in the weather-beaten Boathouse, but another to carve out their names on a desk inside of school. Even though the walls of the Boathouse were still a part of the school's property, the interior in the castle felt even more so.
He looked from the tip of the quill to Madison with a hesitant look on his face before his lips transformed into a small smile. "Alright then."
But what would people say if they noticed it was freshly carved out? 'S and M... Which two students do we know that are usually seen together in the corridors and begins with the letters S and M?'. Their classmates would figure that out in an instant. Still, it was exciting to make their mark in the room along with all the other names on the desks. He let Madison do the scribbling this time.

Reunion of Friends (Pt. 2)
When Madison listened to Simon talk about Alice, she could see a lot of herself in that character. The fact that she was insatiably curious and that exploring was something they both enjoyed, not to mention the both had very big imaginations. Madi giggled and looked at Simon, "Sounds like you're describing me Si and of course I'd drag you down to Wonderland with me, there's no one else i'd rather drag down a dirty hole with me than you, especially if it led to an adventure" Madi says with a smile.
Madison did a small engraving in a spot on the desk, that she knew no one would know to look other than her and Simon. Once she was done, she put the quill back to where she found it and heard the bell chime. She looked at Simon and smiled "Now, i don't know about you Si, but I'm starting to get pretty hungry, I think we should head over to the Great Hall and see what's for lunch don't you?" Madi says with a giggle. As she starts walking over towards the door of the study room, with Simon beside her, Madi turned to him and smiled "I'm glad to be back with you Si, I really have missed not seeing you or hanging out" Madi says with a smile and a slight blush in her cheeks.

Reunion of Friends (Pt. 2)
Godmodding Madison with consentSimon laughed. "I guess I should be flattered. And there's no one I'd rather loose my mind with in Wonderland than you!"
Speaking of adventures and mysterious holes in the ground, Simon realized that they had never been inside the Forbidden Forest together. Most likely because it was forbidden, and for a good reason, from what he had heard. But unless people lied, many of the older students seemed to have entered the forest. It was not that typical no-one-has-ever-returned-alive kind of story. Even though rumor had it that there were centaurs, werewolves and Acromantulas in there (which was likely highly exaggerated, Simon thought) it did not seem to be all too dangerous. Maybe he should suggest some day that they snuck inside to see what all the fuzz was about...
Said and done, Madison carved a small 'S' and 'M' on the desk in a discreet spot. Perhaps a little too discreet, Simon thought, but at least they did not have to worry about anyone spotting it too easily. Just as that time in the Boathouse, it was exciting to carve new memories with her and keep it a secret just between the two of them.
"Now, i don't know about you Si, but I'm starting to get pretty hungry. I think we should head over to the Great Hall and see what's for lunch, don't you?"
"Well, you know me. I never say no to lunch. Always hungry as a wolf." He smiled and held out his hand towards the door. "After you!"
They started moving towards the door. When Madison put her hand on the door handle, she turned around and looked at him. "I'm glad to be back with you Si, I really have missed not seeing you or hanging out."
A warm feeling spread in his belly. He put his arm around her and pressed his head against hers, inhaling the scent of her hair, as they left the room together. "I've missed you too, Madi. I can't wait to see what the rest of the term has in store for us."
