Closed Summer Camp - Pet Fair

Hera was very excited. She wondered what it would be like when he heard that there was a pet fair at the camp. Next to her was her cat, Kai, who was on a leash. Although she was a freedom lover and an actor, she was afraid that something would happen to him.

When she arrived at the animal fair, Hera bent down and carefully removed her cat's collar and took her cat in her arms. Wanted to meet a new animal lover friend.

Meanwhile, her cat Kai suddenly jumped out of her lap and started walking. Hera followed him, afraid she would lose him, but stopped in front of a girl and her cat. The girl was sitting on a pillow and had white blonde hair. Her eyes went to the cat in her a girl arms. Playing with her braids made Hera smile.

Kai meowed merrily. She thought it was her way of saying hello in cat language.

"She wanted to say hello in cat language."

Maybe he thought it was a strange start. She wanted to make up for it a bit, and he reached out and spoke to introduce herself.

"My name is Hera. Hera Green and this Kai. My cat. What's your name?"

When the white cat tilted her head, Kai approached the white cat and rubbed her body against her, and when the girl took out the cat toys, she jumped directly into the rattle bell and started playing with it with her paws. As Hera watched the games, her anxiety subsided a bit.

"Nice too meet you Emma. Can I call you Emma?"

While saying this, she was also watching his cat. After a while, Kai threw the rattle bell towards Minx, eagerly waiting for him to throw it at her. She wanted to play with the new cat she met, Hera understood that.

She realized that she was still standing and sat down on the floor next to Emma. The ground was rough but she didn't care.

"Which cabin are you staying in? Is your cabin beautiful?"

She hadn't seen Emma in her cabin. That's why it made him a little more curious.

"Shall I show you something?"

She stood up and took two tuna trophy sticks from her bag and handed one to Emma. When he smelled the tuna, Kai came right up to him and crawled over Hera's legs. Hera bent down and showed Kai the prize stick in her right hand and held her left hand in front of her. While working on them, Kai immediately placed her right paw on Hera's left hand.

As Piérre praised his feline, he became aware of an approaching student with shocking pink hair and distinctively Asiatic features to him. Focusing on his feline as the boy drew close, Piérre watched as Figaro chased a feather toy that had been withdrawn from the satchel he had brought with him, only glancing up at the boy as he was spoken to. Man, Piérre remembered when he had 'crinus muto'd' his hair once... what a month that had been.

Despite himself, the boy smiled with pride. "I know, right? Isn't he so smart?" He bounced the string on which the feather was dangling, causing Figaro to roll on his back as he batted at the toy repeatedly. "I got really lucky."

As the boy requested permission to pet the feline, Piérre nodded eagerly. "Yeah, go right ahead! He loves any and all attention, just be ready for him to sniff you over so that he remembers what you smell like. He's been trained to remember that so that he can deliver stuff like messages or trinkets on command." Piérre pulled the toy away and retrieved a catnip mouse as he hummed his words. "It's good for making sure an owl isn't intercepted if your recipient is in your vicinity. I love those owls... but they're super easy to take advantage of because they're so easy to spot and snatch out of the skies sometimes. Figgy's a good deal sneakier than you'd think, you'd be hard pressed to find him and then get whatever he's carrying without a good fight." The cat was quite 'combat trained' indeed. "But he won't bite or scratch unless he feels threatened... or if he thinks you're threatening me. He's a good boy." Piérre also joined in the petting. "Aren't you, Figgy-ziggy?" He crooned at his feline as figaro stretched forelegs and hindlegs to allow belly rubs. Indeed, if Hiro's hand drew close the feline would sniff quite a bit, committing the scent to memory as if by instinct. Both by training and the inquisitive nature of the cat, either way it worked in favor of the familiar's master's purposes.

Insofar as the origin of the feline's name; "You ever just have a feeling about something?" He asked the boy. "I just knew that Figaro's name was supposed to be Figaro." He said simply. "He's just a Figaro, and he does certainly run around and frolic about as much as the Sevillian Handyman." An allusion to 'The Marriage of Figaro' of course, after which the beloved bengal was indeed named. "It rolls off the tongue, it's a classic name, and it's just a good and fitting name for him, methinks." Piérre smiled and tipped his head, closing his eyes as he continued to pet his familiar.

Say, this was a good training experience. A good time to display another trick!

"Hey! I have an idea. Figaro is good at tracking people down based on scent, like I said earlier. Want me to prove it?" He nodded to the boy. "Figaro'll find you if you go somewhere in this tent if you hide real quick; I'll have him deliver something of yours so that he connects it with his training. What's your name?" He asked. "I ask only for association's sake; he works on a series of command words associated with people, places and actions. It won't be your name, just something associated with you or your name." Despite himself, Piérre felt the need to explain the reason why and how he trained his feline. It was the most barebones explanation of how he had trained Figaro so far, but in reality the entire training process was a long and complex one that relied greatly on Pavlovian concepts and positive reinforcements that was specialized for the way that Figaro acted and the way that Piérre treated his beloved familiar. It was a bond that was not easily severed, and it was a bond that only got stronger with every command and every reinforcement of the training. For as smart and as individualistic he was, Figaro simply liked to please whenever it came to the desires of his master. It was this knowledge that Piérre took advantage of whenever he had to begin, continue, or refresh his trainings.

This would be a good example of how it was achieved, provided that the foreign boy was interested in participating and being a guinea pig in the experimentation.

Mellani wasn't the type to show off. Not by far means, but she couldn't resist the offer to join in on the pet fair. After all, many people did think that Lavvy was cute, and she was sure that others would love to hold him and pet him if she let them.

Mellani looked around at all the other awesome and cute pets and smiled. It was so good to see so many diverse animals in one place. She loved how in the wizarding world people took care of pets rather that hurt them. Mellani still wondered whether staying for the vacations was something she should have done, but she tried to get rid of that doubt and move on. It wasn't like summer camp wasn't fun.

Mellani waved to some familiar faces as she waited for someone to come and check out Lavvy. He probably wouldn't win, seeing that he didn't know many tricks, but participation was what mattered and Mellani was glad to try out her chances. She looked around and wondered if they were allowed to roam around and look at others' pets. They probably were, but Mellani decided to wait and watch if others did it.

"Okay E. Nice to meet you again."

Saying 'E' sounded a bit strange, but she didn't say anything about it. She listened attentively and curiously when she talked about her cabin. When she had finished speaking, she placed her right hand under her chin and began to speak in thought.

"Occamy cabin. A little more mordern than I thought. But the people there are very nice. I only talked to two people, but I think the others are fine too."

She hadn't spoken to the other cabinmates yet, but she believed they would talk to them soon.

She handed the tuna trophy stick to his cat and opened his bag.
She pulled out her favorite rattle ball. And he brought it to Kai's eye level, who had just finished her treat. Seeing the rattle ball, Kai immediately stood up and focused on it. He threw the rattle ball a little far. As soon as Kai threw it, he ran to get it. After a while, she came running with a rattle ball in his mouth and dropped it right in front of Hera.

Hera patted Kai's head as if saying well done. She meowed in satisfaction, smiling, rolling the toy over to him and watching him play.

"It was more difficult to teach than to teach paw. What can Minx do?"

Zach looked at the other students who brought their pets. They seemed to have fun with their tricks. It made him wonder if he could teach Zephyr some tricks like them. On the other hand, the barred owl was still looking at the surroundings with his wide eyes. His hoots sometimes could be heard.

Zach's sight caught a tall boy with curly brown hair standing not far from him. He knew him. If his memory wasn't wrong, his name is Oliver, one of his fellow Ravenclaw students. He also seemed to participate in the event with his owl. Behind his glasses Zach squinted to confirm what he had seen, a white feathered owl in a suit. "An owl in a suit?!" he said while surprised in a low voice.

Zach watched them from where he stood and couldn't help but to be amazed by their performance. Firstly, Zach saw the boy threw something into the air and the owl caught it. After that, the boy threw a hoop. His owl managed to fly through the hoop twice. Zach widened his eyes when seeing that. It was so impressive.

He wanted to approach them. However, he was unsure whether he could leave Zephyr alone. He knew Zephyr wouldn't want to be leashed and brought anywhere with it. Zach was considering for a moment until he finally decided to approach them with Zephyr. He thought, maybe this also would help him to train his pet owl self-control.

"Mr. Zephyr, please behave yourself! We will visit another participant. If you can behave yourself, I will give you extra treats. I promise," Zach said. Zephyr, the owl, just hooting over. Zach assumed that his pet owl understood. "Good." He wore his protection gloves and tied the end of the leash that was tied in the standing to his hand. "Perch on my hand," he said, holding out his hand that had been wrapped in protection gloves.

"Uh.. Hi," Zach greeted them first when they had arrived. "I saw you performing tricks with your owl. It's very cool! How long have you been practicing these tricks?" Zach looked at the white-feathered owl and finally could see the suit of the owl. "The suit is so cute!"

Oliver was both pleased and surprised. Not only had his owl completed their routine, he had done it perfectly! Unlike the times they practiced before. Right after Wisdom performed, a boy, a fellow ravenclaw approached him. His face was familiar. He had seen him once or twice around Hogwarts. His name was Zech? No Zach was his name “Uh… Hi” he said. “I saw you performing tricks with your owl. It’s very cool! How long have you been practicing these tricks?” Zach asked before commenting on Wisdoms suit. “The suit is so cute!” He mentioned. “Hi, thank you! I’ve been practicing with this stubborn fellow since the start of the school year. I don’t know if its just him but, training an owl costs a lot of owl treats.” Oliver said laughing. Just at that moment his owl nipped his hand. “Ouch! I was joking! Sorry!” He said ( he wasn’t joking ) “This suit was made by my father, He’s a handy muggle.” Oliver responded. “And who is this cute fella?” Oliver asked as gently pet Zack’s owl. He hoped he didn’t get nipped, he had cuts and bites from when he fed stray animals before he went to Hogwarts. He liked Zach, he was friendly. His owl looked at him, probably jealous that he was petting another owl. But Oliver wouldn’t know. He never knew what was happening inside Wisdom’s head.
