I’m glad to have received a letter from you. It is true, I haven’t seen you since the BaiKim bash, which was a blast by the way.

I never saw you on the train either! I wonder why.

Thank you for the candies, I’ve had them before a few times. Now I feel bad that I can’t get you a gift.

Well no wonder you can’t find me. Have you heard then rumors yet? Surely you have. They’re everywhere. I promise I’m not avoiding you, it’s out of my hands.

Although it’s all my fault. My fault, my fault, my fault. I shouldn’t have done it. Never again.

I don’t know when I’ll see you again. It will be at least by the time the ice has melted and the sun warms everything.

I don’t really like listening to rumors, always something nasty about someone, makes me feel bad for the person. I don’t get what you mean, it’s out of your hands? Also, what’s your fault and what did you do? Is there something you haven’t told me yet? What happened? Was it something I did? Did I say something wrong? I just want to hang out, after all its been a while. I’m starting to get worried now, is everything alright? You can tell me if its something I did, or someone else, you can trust me, your my friend!

Dear Oliver,

I feel so bad letting you give me something and not being able to give you anything back. You deserve a gift, and so much more. More than me, especially. I'm terrible. How could I, the most scorned person in Hogwarts, be anything to you? It doesn't make sense, shouldn't make sense, will never make sense.

If you want to know what I did, what I am, all you have to do is listen. I'm sure it's all anyone can talk about, the scandal in slytherin. I'm lucky they didn't expel me, even though that's what I deserve. I deserve prison. I just hope that I stay in school for long enough to say goodbye to you, in person.

Dear Ava What do you mean “the most scorned person in Hogwarts”? What did you do? Even if you did something, you still mean something to me since were best friends! I haven’t heard any rumors about anything in Slytherin. I feel like you might be exaggerating, but I wouldn’t know since I don’t know what you did, but I feel like Azkaban is a bit big you know. What happened? I just want you to be straight with me V, I want to know what happened, what did you do that might get you expelled? As a friend, I am concerned for what is happening.

Dear Oliver,

I’m sure everyone in Hogwarts must hate me. Even Charlie (@Charlie Jacobsen) hates me! And I’m sure you won’t want to be friends with me after you hear what I did.

I really don’t want to talk about it, but since you’re my best friend I will. I won’t judge you if you don’t respond to my owl, I wouldn’t either. By the time you’re done reading it, I’m sure you’ll think I’m the worst person in the whole school.

I don’t know if you know Lucian Mornstern, but it all started when he was insulting me for my blood. I’m not a pureblood, you know that? Not even close. I’m muggleborn, the farthest you can be from being a pureblood. Anyway, he ended up threatening me and so I started avoiding him. Until we had a dorm meeting, for girls only! He and his mates showed up anyway, and in short, one girl lost her locks and I was threatened yet again. I don’t want to talk about what the threat was, but I couldn’t sleep that night, from fear. You know how much I need sleep to run properly. So that night, I snuck into Lucian’s room, with a borrowed knife, and I was going to stab him. It was only in that moment that I realized how terrible what I was doing was, and stopped myself.

Somehow, I haven’t been expelled, although I ought to be. And that’s why I hate myself, and you should hate me.

Dear Ava

Even though this is well, a bit extreme, you know holding a knife up to someone, I understand why you did it. All thats important was that you thought about what you were doing before you could do something horrible. Some people may be scared of you, gossiping about you, but that doesn’t change anything for me. I know who you really are. I understand you didn’t mean to do it, you only lost your temper. We all do sometimes! Regardless, that isn’t a reason to hate yourself. Its also definitely not a reason for me to hate you. Your my best friend and this won’t change anything about how I think about you. If anyone gossips about it or even makes fun of you about it, you can call me, I will be there to support you if you need it

Thank you, Oli, that means a lot to me. I just…when I get back, I know no one will like me. Not people who I thought were my friend, not people I’ve never met.

I’m trying to get out of the funk, but it feels like I’m hanging off a bluff, and one slip and I’ll go plummeting off. I don’t know how long I can hang on for.

Oliver,

I don't know when I'm coming back, and I don't even know if I want to come back. There are some people at Hogwarts I don't know if I can see again without completely falling apart, or losing my temper. My temper, god, Ol. My temper messes everything up! And I can't even hide it because my stupid hair always gives away how I feel. It's like my stupid temper is like everyone else's...if you place it under a microscope and multiply it by 10. I don't know how to control it and everything is just a mess.
