Don’t Get Carried Away!
@Sage Willows
The Study Room was a place Alexandra found herself to be quite fond of, it was quiet and allowed for focus and the occasional interesting company. The periodic chiming of the clock would always recentre her attention, stopping her from drifting off into her thoughts.
One thing quite notable about this room was the copies of Alice in Wonderland lining the shelves. She had been quite pleased to learn about this as it was one of her favourite books growing up, she had always loved the wordplay and the thought out nonsense the book provided. An additional thing that she knew the Study Room for was its odd arrangement, but that was fine, if it worked, so be it.
Alexandra walked by the shelves to find an interesting enough book for reading. She paused, spotting a particularly thick one with a hard leather cover and dog eared pages. Recognizing the title as a book she had heard of prior to her time at Hogwarts, she picked the book up and made her way to a table, brushing scattered papers and quills out of the way for a place to put down the book.
The book itself was just a Herbology collection for light reading, it wasn’t the sort to be read in one sitting, but through brief intervals, when one was bored. She was halfway through scanning over the long table of contents when the door creaked, signaling someone’s entry.
She looked up.

Thoughts • Someone else is speaking • Sage is speaking
@Alexandra HampsworthSage had found herself to be wandering towards the study room that day. She had yet to go there and was particularly excited to be going to a new place in the school. Sage was tired that day, more tired than usual. The first few days at her new school had caught up with her. What better way to beat her tiredness with exploring Hogwarts? She wandered down from the Hufflepuff common to the study room with a bored expression on her face. The study room was mostly empty when Sage arrived. She looked around for a good idea of where to go. Her eyes landed on a blond haired girl with pale skin. She seemed to be reading something. Well, looking for something to read would be a better term. Sage approached the girl and moved to tap her on the shoulder. “Hi, excuse me, but what are you reading? My name is Sage, by the way. What is your name. I’m in Hufflepuff, what about you?” she asked the girl. While she waited for her response, she scanned the books in the area. Most of them seemed to be the perfect book if she wanted to study, which she did not at the moment. One big seemed a bit interesting so she picked it up and scanned it.

@Sage WillowsAlexandra blinked, processing the words that had just been spoken to her. “Oh,” She held up the book to show a random page, it had a detailed picture of a mandrake as well as some facts on them, “it’s a book on Herbology, nothing too fancy. I’m Alexandra, I’m in Ravenclaw.”
She paused, taking the opportunity to study Sage, repeating her name several times in her head so she wouldn’t immediately forget it. A prosthetic leg… Would it be too early to ask about that? Probably. Alexandra already was curious about the brown-haired Hufflepuff girl, she seemed
“And you? What’s the book you’re looking at about?” She was admittedly already feeling a bit awkward as social interaction was far from her forte, regardless, she was interested about Sage, and surprised that she had decided to speak to her. Staring at Sage, Alexandra smiled, a bit forced but still genuine. “Are there any classes you’re looking forward to? What are your housemates like? Sorry, that’s a lot of questions…” She trailed off, flicking her attention from the book, where she had switched the page back to the table of contents, and Sage, who she was worried might disappear suddenly.

@Alexandra HampsworthShe introduced herself as Alexandra. She was in Ravenclaw. Sage noticed Alexandra studying her and Sage just looked at her book, hoping there would be no comment about her leg. Thankfully, there was nothing said about her leg, yet. Instead, Sage was asked about her book.
“Oh, this? I’m pretty sure it’s just about charms,” said Sage with a quick scan of her book cover. To be honest, Sage thought Alexandra’s herbology book sounded more interesting, and not because her name was literally a plant. Before Sage could say anything, Alexandra caught her off guard with several more questions. Classes I like? Housemates? I’ve hardly thought of these things myself! thought Sage. “Classes? Oh I don’t know. They seem fun, but I do like flying. It seems fun! My housemates? Oh they’re okay. Pretty similar to the rest of the kids here…,” said Sage. Sage had found herself to be enjoying flying class more than she thought she would have enjoyed it.
“What about you? Anything interesting?” Sage did not know why, but she felt like Alexandra was a troublemaker. She wasn’t completely sure but there was something about about her….
“I don’t know why… but you seem like the kind of person who wants to cause some trouble in some way. But not in a bad way.” Maybe Sage was completely off or maybe she was right. She had no way of telling.

@Sage WillowsA book on charms, maybe I should read more about those, her thoughts wandered for a second before Sage answered a couple of her questions, flying is fun, it makes me feel like a bird, it also gives me an opportunity to…, she smiled once more, a bit more mischievously this time as she pondered opportunities she could take to get up to some interesting stuff, now if only she had enough money to get a fake permission form so she could go to Hogsmeade, oh well, she would collect enough scholarship money soon enough anyways.
“Nothing particularly interesting so far, my housemates are nice, classes have been fun - oh, I particularly like Defense Against the Dark Arts and Muggle Studies, they’re quite fun to listen to and participate in!” Alexandra was feeling significantly more comfortable now and was caught off guard when Sage called her out so soon.
She chuckled, “I can’t say you’re exactly wrong with thinking that, I hope you wouldn’t be opposed to such things because it was quite fun talking to you so far. Although, I do have a hunch, just a small one, that you might be willing to participate in such events with me?”

@Alexandra HampsworthSage was surprised. Break a rule? There was many things she and Alexandra could do. Enter Hogsmeade, swim in the Great Lake, go into the Forbidden Forest… Sage could not think of just one thing that would be fun to do.
“Sure! What would you want to do? We could go to Hogsmeade, swim in the Great Lake, or there is the Forbidden Forest. But there is lots of other options if none of those appeal to you,” said Sage. Personally, she voted for the Great Lake. As fun as the others seemed, she just wanted to swim. Sage could swim with her prosthetic, but it made it easier to break. Sage did not really want to have to get a new leg while at Hogwarts. Sage could take off her leg while they jumped in, but it would make it easier to swim with it so she could kick.
“I would prefer to go to the Great Lake. Hogsmeade sounds fun, but it just does not have as much a thrill as the lake. And the Forbidden Forest… sure it sounds cool but maybe another time. Is that cool with you?” asked Sage. Sage was already thinking of ways to make sure they weren’t caught and sent to detention.
