With how late it was, it was a surprise that Nara was still out. It was always in her nature to get to bed as soon as possible to get as much sleep as she could before the upcoming day. Today- or tonight- was different, though. She couldn't exactly tell why today had been different, but maybe staying up was her way of procrastinating the test that was happening on the upcoming day. If she slept, that meant the day would come quicker, which wasn't the ideal case.
It was a pretty night out, and it made Nara wish she had appreciated it more. Hogwarts really was in the middle of nowhere, and with no city lights to block them out, the stars seemed to shine so brightly. The moon was in its Waxing Crescent phase, and though it didn't shine particularly vividly as the stars around it did, she didn't mind either way. Rarely would the moon be the thing she cared about; all it could remind her of was the painful transformations that occurred when the damned thing shined its brightest.
The stars had constellations too, and the moon had nothing similar. She couldn't call herself a stickler for the names of the constellations, but occasionally she recognized them. The Big and Little Dipper, Orion's Belt, and Ursa Major and Minor were some of the few she could remember, though the more niche ones would remain foreign in her memory.
She raised up a hand to the sky, pointing her finger at some of the stars in an attempt to connect them into shapes. From where she was laying in the Grounds, she could put together hearts and triangles out of the stars in the sky, albeit some looked a little wonky. If she could, what kind of constellation would she make? What would she name it?
"I want to name one..." she murmured, pointing up at the stars once more. "'I hate you moon'. I don't think it'll take offense." If the moon had feelings, Nara was almost certain it wouldn't care what some kid like her thought. After all, she would be gone long before the moon even disappeared, her opinion would be long forgotten after a few hundred years, maybe even quicker.
The moon would forgive and forget easy, but would she be able to forget the pain she feels the moon has caused? Tsk, it would be a stupid thought to even imagine it.

Coming upon @Nara Alora
"Hate the moon?" he said as he approached, hoping to keep his footprints soft. His voice was the same as he didn't wish to startle the girl.
When one usually came to stare up at the stars and all above it was to admire them, and while she spoke no hatred for the stars, she obviously did seem to towards the moon. "Some people believe that the moon influences us quite deeply - mainly human sickness and health."
He stopped when he was next to her. It was much past curfew and the girl was violating a school rule, but Simon was more concerned with why she was out here in the first place. He looked up to the moon but it was the stars that gathered his most attention. You didn't see stars like that back in London.
"A waxing crescent is an example of shift and change. It presents us with the opportunity to create change in our our lives - at least that's what some believe. Perhaps it is telling us that it is a Monday evening, and we should worry about our grades for any examination or essay in tomorrow's class that might materialize unexpectedly," like a pop quiz.
Upon getting closer to her, he saw that it was one of his fellow Hufflepuffs and Simon slowly set down his bag and then came to sit down beside it, close enough to have a conversation but not so close as to startle her. "What brings you out here so late?"

The sound of another's voice drifted through her ears, and Nara sat up. She had known there was someone trailing the area- one of the very few perks of being a werewolf- but she didn't have any idea who they could've been or how close they were to her position. How annoying, really. Didn't they have friends to be talking to or work to be doing?
"Me and the moon are not close friends." She huffs, looking back up at the dark night sky. A feeling of distaste entered her mouth, like being forced to eat Brussel sprouts or trying to stomach a particularly bad batch of vegetables. Prior to her ninth birthday, she had no care for the sky or any of its contents, but now the taste of disgust entered her mouth every time she looked up at it and caught a glance of the rock that shined so intensely.
The moon definitely influenced her life, though she decided to keep that from the boy near her. Unlearning taboo from her new life was a slow process, and accidently startling the boy (who was most definitely a prefect) would set her back a few steps. Keep it on the down low for now, that should be her move.
"I think the moon only influences the tides on the Earth." That and her life story- but the ocean tides were more important to the world in its entirety, and not just her life. "Something about its gravitational pull on the Earth?" An unfinished product of the whole story, Nara wished she had paid just a tad more attention in Astronomy.
With the boy asking her just what she was doing out so late, Nara found herself unable to answer. She wasn't exactly tired- a first for her-, but she wasn't exactly not tired either. It was a sticky situation, she thought. Upon opening her mouth to answer, she closed it again. The words on her tongue were ever-changing, and she couldn't seem to decide what to say.
"I don't know...?" She offers, trying to come up with some excuse to herself. Was it to vent her frustrations of the moon to it, or was she just unable to fathom the upcoming day? "It just... I guess I'm just stalling so it doesn't become tomorrow?" Tomorrow really wasn't the problem, but eventually that tomorrow would turn to a week from now, and then the moon would become full- and that was what she didn't want to happen.

Sitting with @Nara Alora
He could tell the girl was upset for some reason or another - but what the reason was, he wasn't exactly sure. He had some theories.
"Sometimes it's nice to get away from everyone to be alone with your own thoughts," he said in agreeance to her and came over to where she was sitting and sat down. Maybe he should have waited for an invitation but with the way she was being, he wasn't quite certain he would receive one.
"Other times, we get away from everyone to be alone with our own thoughts only to discover that we wish to get away from them, too."
He glanced up to the moon. Something about knowing that the moon was so high above, not even of this Earth, not something that could ever truly be affected by him or his outbursts of that year just seemed as if it almost was mocking him at times. Maybe he too, a little, didn't appreciate the moon.
"Sometimes you just can't away from it all because we carry ourselves with us wherever we go - the good parts and the bad parts. The bad parts are the ones that are hard to accept but they still are a part of who we are. We just have to deal with them best we can and continue on."
"...And hope we don't make a fool of ourselves or become a threat to others in the process." Simon sighed heavily.

Being forced to be alone with only yourself to listen to sounded a bit like some kind of personal hell for Nara. She had so much to think about and ponder, and about half of those thoughts were unwanted in one way or another. They'd exist in horrible memories or flashes of a night she'd much rather forget, thank you.
The other thing the boy said- 'becoming a threat to others'- was very much so a fear Nara felt deep down in her chest. If, by chance, something went wrong in the time leading up to her transformation, or if something went wrong in the process of transforming and the hours after it, that was a reality she would have to face. Not only would she become a danger to herself, but she also posed the risk of literally losing her life. Being locked away in a hauntedly dark prison for the rest of her life for an accident...
She shuddered, shaking her head and looking at the ground. A puff of breath escaped her, and she looked back over at the boy sitting next to her.
"Aren't you a prefect?" Nara asked, deciding to change the subject after a couple of moments of silence. "Shouldn't you be... I dunno, schooling some kids instead of... y'know..." she motioned up to the sky and then back down at herself. It was vague, but she hoped she got the point across.
'Shouldn't you be patrolling the school instead of giving me an existential crisis?' is what she really wanted to ask. It wasn't really an existential crisis, but exaggerating the situation seemed to make it more bearable to stomach. Speaking of, she was getting kind of nauseous now from how hard she was thinking, and how her brain overturned itself trying to comprehend what was happening.
Her eyes drew back up to the sky- no, the moon- and she scowled silently, a complex look returning to her face.

Not intentionally, but bothering @Nara Alora
He hoped that the Hufflepuff before him was just going through something and it was preoccupying her thoughts. He hoped this wasn't always her demeanor because no one needed to go through life so bitter, but some people did and he wasn't there to judge their life, but he couldn't help feel there was such sadness with days wasted like that.
"Yea, I should be doing something else rather than bothering you," he said honestly, "although, ensuring that students get inside when out past curfew is one of my required tasks so I can either stay out here a little longer with you or you can go inside now. There really isn't an option to just walk away and allow you to be out here on your own."
Hogwarts had a ridiculously early curfew, that was no lie. Hogwarts also had a reason for such an early curfew.
So I suppose you're dictating how this evening goes, and whether it ends now or oh - another twenty minutes tops before we absolutely must go inside. He wouldn't allow her to stay too long. He had been on the grounds later at night and sometimes things came out of the Forest, or at least that was his thoughts. He had never really seen anything, but he heard things and he didn't really need to figure out what it all was right now without knowing defensive spells that hadn't been taught yet to fourth years and below. Better to just let it all be at peace.
