Ellara Butler's first day of being at Hogwarts had been enchanting! The train ride the night before, mystical boat ride, exhilarating Sorting Ceremony, her wonderful housemates, and the gorgeous decor of her House itself made everything at this magical school for witchcraft and wizardry seem like a perfect dream come true! Though she knew that she had lessons later on in the day, the eleven-year-old found herself with a portion of free time and decided it would best be used by checking out the library! After all, how else was she going to make up for the eleven years of magical knowledge that she missed out on? Today alone, she'd been lost in so many different conversations that she didn't know what to do with herself, and even if everyone had been patient in answering her questions, she still felt like she was sorely being left behind.

So! With a fierce set of determination in mind, she decided she was about to get down to the basics of what it meant to be a wizard! Ellara entered the maze of looming bookshelves, immediately in awe of everything around here. A few sets of studying tables were in the main center of the space, no doubt available for the curious student, or the one who was about to fail an exam. She spotted a few Ravenclaws chattering away in the corner but decided not to bother them, figuring they're busy enough, as it was. A librarian sat at the front, behind a desk, wearing a set of monacles and peering down at some unknown text. She could just imagine the classic trope of the old woman yelling, "Shh!" at all of the rambunctious students who undoubtedly darted about from time to time.

And the books! There had to be thousands of titles here... if not millions on various subjects. Quidditch? Magical Creatures? Hexes? Histories? It was almost too much to take in! She spun around in a circle, watching as a few books whirred past, no doubt summoned by the librarian or another witch or wizard. In fact, she was so distracted by her excitement, as she gazed up in wonder at the towering bookshelves, that she failed to notice the stack of books by the shelf that were waiting to be put up until she backed right into them! Stumbling backward, the stack, no doubt twice her height, came crashing to the ground with a loud clang that echoed throughout the space.

Ell blinked for a moment, recovering after one of the books fell on her head. This was going to be fun to explain... and clean up.

There was no doubt in the world that Amber was a bookworm, from day to night her nose was often stuck in a book. It stemmed from her childhood of course but it never changed in her, even though she now went to a school with people like her. She had never been that social, she was a bit more social now than she was as a child but not by much. Books made up the majority of her friend group in a sense and it was surprising that she wasn't in Ravenclaw. She liked her house though and did not doubt that she still fit in.

As much as of a bookworm that she was, it was no surprise that the library was her favorite place to go. She had just finished up reading a favorite of hers for the hundredth time and had come to the library to find something else to read. She wondered through those favored shelves again and looked for something that caught her eye. She eventually found a book and took it out of the shelf to start reading. She flipped open the first page and started reading, just sitting there against the shelf so she wouldn't lose where the book was.

After a bit of reading, she heard someone else come into the library. She was usually much more alert to these things when she was reading, most of the time though she just ignored these things. Resulting in the fact that if you asked someone they would say that she did not hear anything when she was in the reading zone. She continued to focus on her reading until she heard a stack of books being knocked down. She decided to see if there was anyone there that needed help if anything just to help pick up some of the books.

Leaving her book down where she had got it she walked to the front of the library where she saw a girl picking up some books off of the ground. "Hey, do you need some help with that?" but before the girl could even respond Amber leaned down and started picking up books. While they were still picking up books Amber decided to start a conversation. "My name's Amber, what's yours?"

Ellara lept up quickly, her cheeks immediately reddening, as she realized she'd been spotted! Fortunately, as the lingering pair of footsteps rounded the corner, a young girl with light brown hair and a kind-looking face was revealed. A far better option than the stern-looking librarian she'd warily been eyeing earlier in her little adventure! She dusted herself off, trying to act like it was totally casual to be knocking over stacks of books and bent down to right her wrongs.

To her joy, she spotted the other girl in the corner of her eye walk over to join her. There were at least a hundred or more fallen titles, and she hadn't been looking forward to cleaning them up all on her own... maybe now she wouldn't need to! Ellara bit her lip, unsure if she should say anything that would make her look an even bigger fool, right when the girl moved to help and introduced herself. Her name was Amber, apparently. A pretty name, in her personal opinion. She couldn't remember if she'd ever met an Amber before.

"I usually go by Ellara or Ell," she replied, her tone apologetic. "Thanks for helping me clean this up. I can be such a total clutz sometimes!"

She laughed nervously and sifted through the titles, figuring while she was cleaning up, she might as well attempt to track down what she'd been previously searching for!

Levi had been spending ages in the library, catching up on his various studies on strict orders of his professors and parents. He had no choice but to oblige - if he disobeyed their instructions (again), he'd be in nothing but inescapable trouble. He has had enough of that to last him a lifetime!

All seemed to go smoothly. Naturally bright, he found his classwork to be relatively easy to comprehend. The only obstacle that prevented him from thriving was his deprivation of sleep. Maintaining a proper work ethic for perfect grades would cost a student several hours of relaxation, Levi figured not too long ago. As he was running on only 5 hours of sleep, the young Ravenclaw naturally gave in.

Alas, all good things come to an end, even if they're just 20-second naps. A loud ruckus sounded from the shelf lane beside him. The indistinct chattering of girls his age floated through the air. These sounds collectively stirred him from his short-lived nap. Levi groggily raised his head from the book he was using as a pillow, one side of his face completely drenched in drool. With a yawn, and a few rubs to his eyes, he went over to investigate.

Eventually, his eyes landed upon the two Hufflepuff girls.

"Huh, Ellara is a cool name." Amber continued chatting for a bit while they picked up the last of the books that had fallen on the floor. "So what brings you to the library, informational texts or pleasure reading? I came here to do some pleasure reading since I finished one of my favorite books, The Stolen Kingdom, for about the millionth time. It's very simplistic in its wording but it's also stimulating in its plot." Amber then realized that she had left her book bag in the same place where she had left the book for later. "Um, excuse me for one second."

Amber ran through the bookshelves like no tomorrow, she had to find her book bag before it had been stolen. She had not only her books and homework in there but her art and the books that she had written. Finally, she came to the shelf, and to her relief, her bookbag was still there safe and sound. She picked it up and looked through it checking for anything missing and luckily nothing was. She picked it up and walked back to where Ellara was. "Sorry, I just remembered that I had forgotten my book bag, I can be pretty forgetful at times."

Amber realized that she also had her book The Stolen Kingdom in her bag. "I have the book I was talking about in here if you want to read it, if not right now I'm almost always at the library when I'm not at classes so you can borrow it at any time" Amber took the book out of her bag and showed it to Ellara waiting for a response.

Ellara grabbed a few more books, scanning the spines to order them properly, while Amber babbled away. From the way she spoke, the Hufflepuff girl was surprised Amber wasn't in Ravenclaw! She was definitely a fan of the library, using all sorts of fancy words and mentionings of books she'd never heard of as she spoke at 11,000 miles a minute. Upon her question of why she'd arrived, Ellara answered, "Oh, just exploring! I haven't had too much of a chance to acquaintance myself with the whole castle yet, and the library seemed like a pretty good place to start!"

Half-way through her answer, Amber commented something along the lines of having to leave and darted away, the sound of her footsteps echoing throughout the various shelves. With that distraction gone, Ellara turned her head and noticed a Ravenclaw boy with fluffy red hair standing nearby, regarding her with a pensive expression. "Cat got your tongue?" she teased, recognizing the boy from Diagon Alley. The two had crossed paths in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes trick and jokes shop before! She'd vowed to avoid every flavor beans for the rest of her days.

As Amber returned, she commented, No worries!" and nodded, listening to Amber explain the book she seemed interested in. Though Ellara had no real interest, she knew Amber liked it, and so she instead continued to smile and comment a vague answer about how she was already busy with another title.
