Summer in Prague
"Hey, Aly, wake up."interacting with @Isabella Montgomery
Alyssea groaned as she felt the turbulence rumble right through her. Had they finally arrived in the Czech Republic? She blinked her eyes open until she stopped wincing at the light and turned to her brother. "Are we here?"
He nodded. "We're landing. Get your stuff ready."
She did just that, taking the earphones out of the audio jack and curling them into her backpack pocket. She stretched her arms out to the ceiling and groaned as she felt her spine realign itself. Her brother, on the other hand, seemed unfazed. The flights he took between America and England probably conditioned him.
Getting their luggage and exiting the airport flew by in a blur. Her mother fumbled with her hair, saying she needed to look more presentable until they could check into their accommodation. Alyssea rolled her eyes. She wasn't looking for a Czech boyfriend, no thank you.
Her brother nudged her elbow. "We can't go to the National Theatre today, unfortunately, but we can go to Prague Castle or any museum along the way. How's that?"
Alyssea offered her brother a smile. "Did you plan this itinerary for me or yourself, Anton?"
He laughed and shook his head. "Anything for my little sister. Now come on, let's go to the castle. Mum! Dad!"
Anton called out to their parents as Alyssea settled back into her dazed state. The castle sounded like a nice place to start.

Summer in Prague
Prague. Mom had always dreamed of visiting the Czech Republic. We had taken the train from England to France, then through the Netherlands and Germany to the capital of the Czech Republic. The air smelled of freedom, and even the sweltering heat made me smile. The children were playing together, and all I wanted was to join them, to destroy the borders of our very different cultures. The colors radiated throughout the city. Violet thought she was in heaven when she saw all that nature, bubbling, glowing, enchanting. She loved this peaceful, serene atmosphere, which we would never have in England.
— Sunflower, look at this!, my sister called.
A store that looked like an apothecary stood before us. Violet was crazy about plants, potions and nature. With her hand in my father's, she stormed in, begging our parents to take everything. They gave in for a thymus, the maternal soul of the Czechs. Arlo and Jasper, one holding my hand, the other in my mother's arms, soon went off to play in a nearby park. Jasper could barely walk, but the energy of the city gave him wings.
Violet and I followed, hand in hand, the laughter of the children around us.
— Buds, look out!, I exclaimed.
It was too late; Arlo had just fallen backwards, hitting a girl who must hardly have been my age. My sister and I rushed over to him, and while she tended to our brother's scratches, I apologized to the girl.
— I'm so sorry, I hope Arlo didn't hurt you!

Alyssea's return to reality was bumping into someone. Her face boiled with embarrassment. God, she needed to shake off the jetlag now or else she'd actually lose all her charm (and integrity, with that)interacting with @Isabella Montgomery
"I'm so sorry, I hope Arlo didn't hurt you!"
Alyssea opened her eyes to find a pale girl with piercing blue eyes and dark hair. She offered her best smile to the girl, however tired she was. "It's okay! I should've been looking at where I was going."
She caught sight of a boy who had fallen over, probably the one she had bumped into, and another girl beside him checking his wounds. Alyssea pursed her lips tight. Wake up!
"Is that your brother? I'm really sorry. Is he hurt?"
Alyssea's words were muddled and hardly cohesive, but as long as it got her message across, she couldn't muster up the energy to be more fluent in her speech. She took her backpack and rummaged through the many pockets. "I have a plaster, if he needs it."
She took one more look at the boy. "If he needs more, I have a few. I'm terribly sorry about the accident."
In the background, she could hear her brother calling for her. She turned to look at him and saw his hands waving at her to come along. When she turned back to the boy and his sisters, she figured she'd at least make sure he wasn't gravely injured. Manners, right?
