The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Charlise sat near the end of the table, where it seemed like thousands of people with Ravenclaw robes sat. She was still in shock from actually being sorted- being at Hogwarts was like a dream!
She was starving, but instead of eating, she was staring at everything, at everyone. The roof, and food, older students, the other first-years, the teachers! Everything was so new and amazing, at least to a little first year like Charlise.
When she had finally taken in her surroundings Charlise picked up her knife and fork. She dug into the Mongolian beef stir fry, which she had chosen earlier. It was so delicious, and it was made just the way Charlise liked it. She tried her hardest to use her best table manners, like she had been taught at home, but when she let out an embarrassingly loud belch, some boys from further down the table cheered. Charlise turned a bright red and tried to sink into her chair.
Charlise didn't try to start any conversations, being a shy and quiet girl, but she did share some smiles with other new students. She couldn't wait to finish eating and to go back to her dorm to meet her new dorm-mates, and to have a good first nights sleep in her new home.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Kenni walked into the great hall and took in everything before her. Dull hum filled her ears and she laid eyes on the first years in every house. The first years distinctly stood out, for they all carried the same awestruck, terrified gaze as they scanned the large room surrounding them. Kenni's gaze settled on a first year girl with blond hair.Charlise Worthington wrote: 30 Oct 2018, 06:12 Charlise sat near the end of the table, where it seemed like thousands of people with Ravenclaw robes sat. This girl looked silently and gently around the room, different from the other first years who were fighting to make some sort of conversation with those around them in an attempt to make friends. Kenni noticed that the girl didn't try to make small talk as she sat down beside her. They gave each other a brief nod and a gentle smile, but otherwise shared no words.
As Kenni was sitting and politely eating, some sort of something flew out of nowhere. hit her in the chest and just about knocked her out of her seat. If the blond girl next to her hadn't caught onto her robes, she would've been flat on her back on the ground. Kenni then felt that the act had warranted some sort of verbal communication.
"You got some fast reflexes there. Thanks for catching me." She said plainly, her Irish accent lacing every word. "My name is Kenni, by the way."
Sincerely,
Kennilworthy Switch

“Oh no problem. I’ve had to improve my reflexes, you know, living in a house with 4 chaotic kids like my family.” Charlise smiled, while shrugging. “My name’s Charlise. Charlise Worthington. Nice to meet you.” She said, her thick Scottish accent making it clear of her background. She held out her hand for Kenni to shake.
Charlise scooted over on the bench, so Kenni had a little more space. Kenni looked like an interesting person, and Charlise couldn’t wait to keep talking to her to get to know her better.
Could this girl be another friend? I really hope so. She seems nice, Charlise thought.
Charlise sneezed and looked up at the roof above the Great Hall. It looked beautiful. Tonight it was a deep blue, speckled with stars. The floating candles made it look even more like a starry night. She imagined being able to jump from star to star, up in space, with her non-magical bestfriends. She grinned, and was suddenly jolted from her imagination by the clicking of a students fork dropping onto the floor.
"Oh, sorry. I was just a little lost in my imagination," Charlise said, remembering that Kenni was sitting next to her. "What does the sky remind you of?" She asked.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
A fairly small girl with dirty blonde hair was awaiting her turn to be sorted. Her chocolate brown eyes darted around the Great Hall, her head whipping around as she did so. She was trying to absorb the fact that this was all real, she was an actual witch. She never considered herself to be special although now it was undeniable that she was just not like the other little girls in her neighborhood. She had become absorbed in her thoughts and was not broken from them until she heard her name. "Raine, Ysabelle." She whipped her head around to face the stool that held the old dingy looking hat that would decide the fate of her next seven years of school.
She gulped nervously and she stepped forward as her mind raced. 'Don't fall, don't fall, don't fall.' She chanted in her head, the last thing she needed to do was to trip and fall in front of everyone. She reached the stool and sat down as the hat was placed upon her head. It sat atop her small head for no more than a few seconds before the hats mouth split open. "RAVENCAW!" Bellowed the hat loudly, she winced slightly at the sudden volume and no sooner than that the hat was removed from her head.
She stood up and made her way to the table filled with the students in blue and bronze, her new housemates. Ysabelle looked down at her robes and noticed that her tie was no longer black, it was blue with bronze stripes and her robe was now sporting the Ravenclaw crest. Her face lit up in a smile as she took her seat. She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she nearly forgot about the other people who surrounded the table.

[Interacting with Ysabelle Raine]
Perhaps, she thought carefully as she glanced up from the meal a little after she'd begun to eat it, she'd even make friends. Such an opportunity presented itself the moment she turned to her left, seeing a girl with an expression that spoke of being far into the depths of her own mind. She sucked in a sharp breath and began a careful trek up to the stool. Once she sat down, the hat was placed precariously on her head, tilted sideways and covering her eyes.
"Ah, yes," the Sorting Hat began, "Another Ambrosi! Welcome, welcome! It's always a treat to sort such a dynamic family... hm, you have strong determination, good values, and you're very loyal. You're timid but unafraid if you set your mind to it or wish to accomplish a goal... your need for knowledge is great, but your compassion may just rival that. No, I know- you'll be sorted into-- RAVENCLAW!"
Viviana winced at the cheering and clapping, sure by now that her ears were positively ringing due to the noise. She got up for the stool, carefully placing the hat on top as she gave it a polite smile. "Thank you. You've proven my mother correct."
She left after that, sitting with her fellow Ravenclaws as she observed one by one, students getting sorted into all of the houses. Though she felt homesick, she tried to enjoy the well-prepared feast that appeared shortly after everything had settled. She was a Ravenclaw now. This was her new home.
Though she wished to laugh at the amusing space-case look that the petite blonde girl had, she only allowed an amused smile to twitch her lips. She often had such looks upon her own face according to her father. Then again, Viviana was someone very easily lost in thought when contemplating something that had interest to her.
Before she could lose nerve, she took a deep breath in and spoke softly to gain her fellow housemate's attention."Hello there... I am Viviana Ambrosi. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, miss..?" She left her sentence hanging in the air, waiting anxiously for a potentially positive response and the budding signs of a friendship she'd hope would last.

Just as Morgan sat down to eat, a tray appeared directly in front of him. A few platters of beautifully aromatic food then flew swiftly past the others at the table right to Morgan, yet managed to keep their contents intact. The floating candles circling above them around the Hall, also managing to keep their wax at bay - thank goodness for that, Morgan thought to themselves - though alight with flame, could not equal to the cool draftiness inside. The lights surrounded them, and Morgan got a glimpse of what was happening:
All those at the tables were noisliy devouring up the meals served to them; gossiping, chatting, whispering, and all the other sorts of noises that could fill such a vast room with such a number of people. The ghosts overhead were chatting with the students as well, their ethereal presence, though slightly unsettling as well as chilling, seemed to welcome the new witches with their warmth.
The others Morgan was sitting at were doing the same. Most were just smiling to each other awkwardly with a longing for a friend in their eyes.
Morgan had then decided to take up one of the dishes, which immediately transfigured from the mashed potatoes to their favourite, Korean ddukbokk-ie with kimchi and adobo pork belly, coinciding with their cravings at the moment. They started wondering why this was happening. He then looked for a hint of black amongst the light royal blue, which dyed the uniforms of those at the table, the tablecloth, and the banner with an eagle on it above the floating candles.
"Is this the table's mascot?" Morgan wondered aloud.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Henry'd glance along the table at the nervous chatter that was spreading amongst the first years. Hearing names being thrown about as introductions was made, he'd stay quiet, whilst trying to remember all these new people that he would now be living with. Family, they said. At least he'd be used to sharing a room and bathroom, Henry thought, although that just made his heart ache for his siblings even more. He really missed them, having never gone to anywhere fully alone as there was always a sibling close in age with him, such as in muggle school.
He swallowed his gasp as the plates in front of them appeared with food- he was still shocked at the simplest of magical tricks right now. Waiting before the kids around him did, he'd slowly reach forward to pull some food forward onto his plate with shaky hands. Soon enough, he had a plate of sweetcorn, mash potato, beef, gravy and broccoli. He knew his stepmum would've been berating him at home if he hadn't taken at least two pieces of vegetables. Henry hunched over as he ate, keeping his head down as he went about chewing, swallowing and repeating. At least the food was better than at home, he thought with a smirk.

Waiting in line for the sorting hat was nerve racking. Time seemed to be going at the slowest pace possible, and Vales was internally freaking out. She truly wished that she could be a Ravenclaw, like her dad, but at the same time, Vales wanted to be unique. Maybe even a Slytherin!
The line slowly moved, and in a few minutes, her name was shouted,
"Vales Minter!"
Taking a deep breath, Vales stepped up, and calmly walked towards the hat with a calm smile on her face, betraying her true emotions. She reached the stool, climbing on top of it. The hat was dropped, rather uncomfortably, on top of Vales's head. Her dad had said that the hat had spoken to him, but the hat was perfectly silent, and that made Vales terrified.
"RAVENCLAW"
The hat's voice relaxed Vales considerably, and she released a true, shaky smile. So, she was like her dad after all.
"Just don't trip." she thought to herself as she walked towards the Ravenclaw table. The aroma of the food overwhelmed her as she took a seat. Wasting no time, Vales reached over, grabbing a huge spoonful of mashed potatoes and a few assortments of puddings. If they saw the way she was eating, her father's would've immediately plumped different food groups onto her plate, but, it was a special day! Vales started eating silently, hoping that someone would engage her in conversation.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
"It's okay, you can do this," the girl said to herself before taking a deep breath and finding a seat at the Ravenclaw table. Moments before, she had just been sorted into one of the two houses that she knew she would fit perfectly into. Her mother was a Hufflepuff and her father the Ravenclaw, it would only make sense that their red-headed daughter land in one of those spots. Juniper was thankful to be able to live out her parents legacy - now she just needed to fit in with the other students.
Juniper Janes brushed a wild piece of hair that came loose from the others that were tied up in a tight bun on top of her head and tucked it behind her pale ear. She looked around at the other students and smiled shyly at those that returned her gaze. To be honest, the aroma of food before her helped ease her worries and the girl relaxed her stiff posture and reached for her goblet, which looked to be full of a bright red liquid and tasted of wonderful different berries. Her stomach rumbled and she gathered as much food that she could fit on her plate and began to dig in, forgetting the eyes that surrounded her.
She heard a few giggles here and there and returned them, for she did not realize how hungry she had been whilst being sorted and getting the tour of the castle. After she swallowed the food that was in her mouth, she cleared her throat and decided it was best if she introduced herself to those who were listening. "Hi," she said, looking around. "I'm Juniper Janes." She smiled and waited to hear other students tell her who they were. Hopefully this would be the start of many friendships between Juniper and the other Ravenclaw students at the table.

Henry was pulled out of his thoughts on how it would be possible for the food to just appear and change when a voice opposite him spoke. The girls name was Juniper, as she introduced himself, which Henry could appreciate. He always liked unique names like that and it gave off the Astrology feel. Henry was a fan of the stars, galaxies and planets. It just interested him on how something so important hasn't been fully explored. Maybe with magic, he'd be able to go further than the average muggles could in their search for technology to help them find out more about the whole other world that surrounded theirs.
"Henry Reed. I like your name. Do people ever call you JJ?"
He'd talk after he swallowed a mouth of mash potato, not wanting to be rude. His family had a weird thing for nicknames, Henny was his one back home even if it was just replacing one letter.
Glancing along the table at the other students, trying to find any familiar places, he'd eventually look back to Juniper. She had really cool ginger hair that reminded him of a carrot, although she seemed really nervous which he could relate to.
