The Blossoms of Kensington
Madison smiled as she was in the hallway with Simon after finishing lunch with her dad. She grabbed her bag (the one from the image of the pink cardigan and white skirt), put on her long grey coat, her winter boots and then her gloves before grabbing a house key and saying bye to her dad. Once they step out, Madi walks with Simon back down to the gate and soon they are back on the barren tree streets of Kensington.
Madi walked next to Simon and told him funny little stories along the way about her childhood. As they walked down the street together, Madi links her arm into Simons (I thought that since they're best friends, linking arms as they're walking would be cute hehe) and smiles. "So, tell me what it was like being back home for Christmas Si, I bet your parents missed you" she says as they continue walking down, enjoying each others company and the fact that they finally get to catch up after not seeing each other for a while.
––––––––––––––––––
After taking a few pictures together so that they remember the weekend and Madi letting Simon take photos of her whilst they're in a little cafe drinking hot chocolate, one of them where she had chocolate at the top of her lip and Simon made her laugh at the same time.
––––––––––––––––––
As they walk out of the cafe and start walking back through a park, Madi looks at Simon and giggles, "Now, how good are you at ice skating Si?" Madi asks as before adding, "reason why i'm asking is because there will be an ice rink in this park tomorrow and I was thinking we could check it out and have some fun, and don't worry, if you fall, I'll catch you" Madi says with a giggle as she teases Simon playfully.
––––––––––––––––––
Once they get back to her house and they've taken their coats off, Madi goes upstairs with Simon and puts her boots away in her wardrobe before going into her room and she sits on her bed and smiles at Simon. "Is it weird that I'm nervous for our second year? I thought I wouldn't be but I am" Madi says with a giggle but she knew she should be, she'd have Simon with her. She smiles at him and giggles as she gets out two boxes "Merry Late Christmas Ori" Madi says with a smile. Inside the boxes were two Black leather bracelets, one with their nicknames on and the other with their constellations on them. Madi hugs Simon and puts hers on as she watches Simon do the same "I saw them and thought it would be cute, another way of remembering our secret she says with a giggle.

@Madison BennettDespite London being London in January, it was a beautiful day. The air wash humid och fresh, and it was not too cold to be outside. They took this time to catch up and tell each other about Christmas and New Year's Eve before going to a nearby café where Simon bought a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows.
"Now, how good are you at ice skating Si?", asked Madison as they started heading back.
"Oh, I haven't been ice skating in like... hmm... two years maybe", said Simon.
"Reason why i'm asking is because there will be an ice rink in this park tomorrow and I was thinking we could check it out and have some fun, and don't worry, if you fall, I'll catch you."
"Sure! If there is a pair of ice skates I can borrow?", he said, thinking this was going to be like their private flying lesson all over. "I'm sure I will be able to keep the skates to the ice." He smiled.

Back in Madison's room, they sat down on her bed. The day had progressed so quickly. It was a shame thinking that their trip would be over in only three days, but at the same time, that motived him to use their time well and enjoy it while it lasted. On Thursday, the 5th of January, they would be back at Hogwarts again.
"Is it weird that I'm nervous for our second year? I thought I wouldn't be but I am."
"Why would you be nervous? We still have one term left, and when we start again after summer we will be older, smarter and perhaps even you will be a bit taller." He gave her the usual cheeky smile. "Nothing to be worried about! I'm looking forward it."
After a while, Madison reached for two boxes. One being a present for him containing two black leather bracelets, one with his nickname on it and the other with the star constellation Orion. He smiled as he saw it.
"Wow. This is very sweet, Madi. I don't know what to say. Thank you so much!"
She hugged him and put her bracelet on, while Simon put on his. "I saw them and thought it would be cute, another way of remembering our secret."
"Yes, I think I will carry this bracelet when I'm with you, and the star constellation when I'm with others, so that no one would know the true meaning of it", he said and smiled. "Again, thank you, Madi."
It was getting dark outside.
"It's a shame we can't watch a movie or something. We have a TV in our living room but my mom didn't allow us to have TV:s in our rooms. Said it's bad for our sleep. Even my dad wanted a TV in their bedroom, but she said studies show that it's bad for the relationship because that would mean less connection and less focus on each other." Simon chuckled. "Flip side of having a professor as a mother, I guess. She always knows what's best and we know she's right, whether we want to admit or not."

Madi nods and smiles, giving Simon the usual playful nudge she does when he says the bit about her maybe growing taller. "You're welcome Simon, I'm glad you like it and i'll do the same but for now, we can wear both" Madi says with a smile. Madi was sad that Simon had to leave and go back home soon but she was excited that, on the 5th of January, they'd be back at Hogwarts together.
Madi smiles cheekily and sits on her bed with Simon "Yeah it does suck, but we could make up a story together if you want instead" Madi says with a giggle. Madi got out a bag of fudge flies, put some into two bowls and then gave one to Simon before starting on her own bowl, "I thought we'd enjoy a little late night snack whilst thinking through our story" Madi says with a smile as she sits next to Simon. They make up an entire story and eventually Madi falls asleep on his shoulder.
Madi felt super lucky to have a friend like Simon and she couldn't wait to show him more of the house tomorrow, there were still some spots he didn't know about yet that she knew he was going to love.

@Madison Bennett"Yeah, it does suck, but we could make up a story together if you want instead."
"Sure! I used to make up stories all the time when I was little, I'm sure my mother will tell you about it when you meet her." He laughed. "But it's been a long time since I came up with a story. Just give me a minute. I'm just gonna change real quick..."
Simon slid down the bed and went over to his suitcase. As he opened it he noticed his wand and realized how much he missed holding the firm wood in his hand and casting the spells that they had learned so far. But he would have to wait until they were back at Hogwarts. He changed into his sweatpants and hoodie.
"Seriously, your house and your room, Madi... I've already said it, but it's marvelous. I wish I lived like this! But perhaps not with the pink colors." He chuckled before making himself comfortable among the many pillows in the bed.
"I thought we'd enjoy a little late night snack whilst thinking through our story," said Madison and gave him a bowl of Fudge Flies.
"Your favorite", he noted with a smile, and put a fudge fly in his mouth before thinking about how to start the story.
After a while of story-telling and laughing at their many ridiculous and goofy ideas, he felt something tickle in his side. "Hey! Stop it! You know how ticklish I am", he said and tickled Madison back before realizing it was one of the corners of the pillows that was poking in his ribs. "Oh..."

Madi smiled and let out a little giggle She was glad Simon loved her house, though she knew it was probably a bit too pink for him. Madi hoped she would never lose Simon, she loved having him as a friend and, since he was one of her best friends, she couldn't stand the thought of not having him with her.
Madison smiled and nodded her head in agreement "I know right, that story was awesome!! Especially the part where the Hippogriff swooped in and saved the world" Madi says with a smile. Madi doesn't always show it, but she is scared of being all alone, with no one there to go guide her,. That's how Madi would feel if her family's wealth came between her friendship with Simon, a friend she couldn't bare the thought of losing.
Madi was jolted suddenly when Simon started tickling her and so she gently hit him with a soft pillow that was on her bed and removing the 'ticklish' pillow from behind Simon. Madi relaxed and started tickling Simon, this time though, it really was her and not the pillow. She knew where his ticklish spots were because she'd found them earlier in the year whilst they were hanging out after classes and on weekends.

Godmodding Madison with consentMadison started tickling Simon for real this time. He jumped a little of the discomfort, feeling the urge to laugh out loud, while trying to get a hold of her hands to prevent her from tickling him.
"No, stop it, Madi! Stop it!", he said but with a playful smile on his lips. "Don't you dare...!"
He managed to grab both of her hands by her wrists but Madison was surprisingly strong. With a mischievous smile and their eyes locked at each other, Simon was trying to keep her in place while Madison tried to break free. When she got up on her knees and used her body weight Simon felt his muscles surrender, before he suddenly fell backwards and slipped off the bed, bringing Madison with him down on the white carpet. One of them must have kicked one of the bowls with candy because soon Fudge Flies came raining down on them, landing all over the place.
Simon tried to hold back his laugh but could not resist laughing out loud. They must have looked so clumsy! If only she have had a camera in her room. It would have been so funny to watch afterwards. With Madison on top of him, he continued to laugh as he still had the image in his head of her surprised eyes before they tumbled down on the floor.
He hoped Mr. or Mrs. Bennett had not heard them, otherwise they would probably turn up knocking on the door to check what the heck was going on in there. Luckily for them, he thought, he couple lived on the third floor, and not under Madison's floor, so it was possible they had not heard the noise.
"Oh my god... See, this is what happens when you tickle me. You should've learned by now!", he said and shoved a Fudge Fly in her mouth.

Madi didn't feel like stopping, nor did she.
Considering she'd been training to play Quidditch with her dad, as well as Gymnastics and Horse riding, Madi wasn't surprised how strong she was, though she was slightly shocked that she was almost as strong as Simon, though not quite.
Once they fell onto the floor, Madi laughed as she lay on top of Simon and smiled. "I couldn't help myself, you blamed me for tickling you so I thought I'd show you what happens afterwards" Madi says with a giggle as she gets up and brushes herself off, swallowing the Fudge Fly and helping Simon up too.
Once they are both up, Madi smiles and goes into her bathroom to brush her teeth. She puts her hair into a ponytail and then comes back out and sits on her bed. Madi thinks to herself should I tell Simon how that look made me feel or should I brush it off and ignore it? she thinks, her face moving to her thinking look, the one where something is puzzling her but she doesn't quite know how to say it out loud. Madi shakes the thought out of her head when she sees Simon and smiles at him, as she looked at the clock on her bedside table and saw the time, 9:50pm and giggles, "we should probably go to bed soon, just to make sure you have all your energy for the continued house tour tomorrow, unless you want to sit on my bed with me and just chat for a bit instead" Madi says to Simon with a smile.

@Madison BennettOnce Madison got up, Simon picked up all the Fudge Flies he could find, put them back into the bowl and put it on Madison's bedside table. Then he stretched his body (his back giving a cracking noise) and yawned.
“Maybe we should go brush our teeth. Do you have a tooth paste I can borrow?"
He went to the bathroom, opened his toiletry bag and picked up his toothbrush. As they brushed their teeth together, he looked at Madison in the mirror from time to time, smiling. He realized they had never brushed their teeth together before. Seeing her do that almost made her more humane in his eyes. She was no longer just this funny friend of his that turned up during the days and disappeared before curfew at 8 o'clock, only to be there magically again the next day, properly dressed, as if nothing had happened in between. She too had the same routines as he.
"We should probably go to bed soon, just to make sure you have all your energy for the continued house tour tomorrow, unless you want to sit on my bed with me and just chat for a bit instead."
“Sure", said Simon, smiling. “I'd love to chat for a little while. I'm not that tired yet anyway. Not after your bathroom lighting blinded me."
Back in the bedroom, he laid down on his side in her bed, facing Madison, resting his head in his hand. "Okay! First impression of your house... I must say... it's super cool, Madi. Truly. I'm so glad you invited me. And it feels like we've been talking about this for so long now – it's almost surreal to finally be here and see it with my own eyes!"
When he looked around the room, he remembered something he wanted to ask her. "Okay, I have a question for you... What do you appreciate most about me as a friend or as a person?"

Madi, who was in her bathroom when he asked the question, nodded and handed him her toothpaste that was a light minty flavour. She had looked at Simon from time to time too and smiled. She washed her face and had tied her hair into a ponytail, cleaning her bench space afterwards and sitting on her bed in her pjs.
Once Simon was on her bed and they were talking, Madi smiled as she listened to Simon and nods in agreement, "Aww thanks Simon, I'm glad you like it, you haven't seen all of it though, but I'm not gonna spoil the surprise" Madi says with a giggle. She sat up against the head of her bed as she and Simon talked.
Madi says with a soft giggle as she though about Simon's question. She then replied, "hmm good question, I'd have to say that the thing I appreciate most about you as a friend is the fact that you're always there for me. You're also so funny, thoughtful and sweet plus you're so easy to talk to" she says with a smile.
Madi thought about a question she could ask Simon and once she comes up with it, she does "Ok my turn, technically it's two questions but here we go. First, what was your first impression of me and second, is there any girl at Hogwarts that's caught your eye in terms of you thinking that she's good looking? Madi asks with a giggle. Since it was a sleepover she had to ask one or two cheeky questions, even if it was with a guy, but Simon is her best friend and so she knew she could ask him anything, embarassing or otherwise.

@Madison Bennett"Hmm good question, I'd have to say that the thing I appreciate most about you as a friend is the fact that you're always there for me. You're also so funny, thoughtful and sweet plus you're so easy to talk to."
Simon smiled. "Thanks, Aqi. I'm glad to hear that. And of course I'm there for you. Well... I believe I even promised your dad that I would, so now I definitely have too", he said and chuckled.
"Ok, my turn, technically it's two questions but here we go. First, what was your first impression of me and second, is there any girl at Hogwarts that's caught your eye in terms of you thinking that she's good looking?"
Simon was quite startled by the question. Good-looking? He had never really thought about that. Not that he could not think of any girl who looked good, because many people looked good in their own way. But good-looking as in attractive...?
"Oh. Okay. First question then. My first impression of you... I remember you were very eager and excited, when we met on the docks and took the boat ride together to Hogwarts. You talked and giggled a lot, same as now." He gave her a cheeky lopsided smile. "I thought of you as this funny and kind, extroverted person. And..." Simon laughed. "This is also quite funny, but the first day, it seemed like you were constantly trying to figure out what I was thinking, and sometimes you were right, so it was almost a bit scary! But I felt this immense trust for you almost instantly, so it did not really matter, so... Yeah, I guess you've just been my best friend ever since." He smiled.
A bit nervous, he looked down in the bed and started touching the corner of one of the fluffy pillows while preparing his next answer. He thought of their classmates and his friends, going through each and every one of them in his head. "Okay, and for the second question... I mean, do you mean good-looking as in good-looking or...? Okay. Hmm..." Still, he could not decide one that he fancied in that way that Madison meant it. "Jeez, this is so hard. But of course, you look good, Madi! I'm sure many guys in our school think so too. So, okay, I'm picking my best friend! On to you then. Is there any boy at school that has caught your eye?"
He was thinking about some of the older students, that Gryffindor boy in year three and the tall Hufflepuff boy who must have been at least fifteen years old. From all of a sudden, he felt a sting of... jealousy? A weird kind of jealousy that he had not felt before. As if their friendship would be threatened by a third part. A male third part. He tried to rid himself of the feeling mentally, while curiously awaiting Madison's answer.
