date. around june | time. morning There is always a time in this pretty little girl's world where her life is positively dull that she needed to do something either incredibly moronic or just utterly mad. That does happen from time to time and she does not know which outcome this positively boring day she would wind up in. But none of that could stop Pea's sudden intrusiveness when she made up her mind for doing anything. And this time around, the part Veela just wanted to have a little "fun" with someone. Perhaps it was a little flirtatious encounter or a space to spread her bewildering charm? being a part-Veela surely would have its benefits, right? and she just needed a daily dose of compliments, amongst other things.
The white-haired scan the room stealthily while sipping her tea at one of the ends of a corner table inside the great hall. Sadly, there wasn't any target descent enough to be blessed in her presence. -Until suddenly, her piercing blue eyes laid a gaze on someone. A particularly cute boy who she is guessing is older than her- sitting peacefully while reading some textbook at the Slytherin table. The Slytherin boy is slender, with messy dark hair, and if she's guessing, looks quite tall as well. Not too shabby, perhaps he could be a decent target. Aw, how invigorating that he did not know his day is going to be blown away by her appearance.
The girl is looking at her reflection with a small teaspoon, making sure her hair is still looking as fine as the way she styled it this morning. She grabs some of her books which were laying just right beside her, and starts to walk towards him.
Making her way slowly forming up a plan of attack in her mind. Although, she is quite confident in herself. Surely, getting his attention would be easy enough, as the part-Veela was never putting up a lot of effort into getting the attention of plenty of men.
Pea confidently sat next to the boy, with her own textbook in hand.
"Excuse me." She gently says, releasing all of her charm, while playfully putting her hair behind her ear. "You.. look like someone who is paying a lot of attention in class. Do you mind helping me with some homework? -surely you could take a little break from reading and- spend a little of your time with.. M- uh I mean tutoring me, perchance?" Pea smiled enticingly. For common men, this might be a hard offer to resist.
"Ah, where is my manners, my name is Pea Elena Fowl. Apologies for being too forward, but I couldn't resist coming over here and ask for a favor. You just seem to have a fascinating... aura." And if her calculation is indeed correct, he would've fallen head over heels with her by now.

Wyatt was doing his best to really pay attention to the words of a potion textbook when he felt someone settle onto the bench next to him. Instantly, reflexively, he moved away. Just a little bit but certainly enough to notice… unless the person trying to notice was a complete idiot. What Wyatt didn’t want was for the person to start talking to him.
"Excuse me." The girl said with an odd tone to her voice. Wyatt was expecting her to ask him to pass a turkey leg or something until she… could that have been a flirty hair-behind-ear tuck? Wyatt was confused but fascinated. It was like she was a messed up art piece in a museum for pretentious people. Or tourists. Or pretentious tourists, possibly. "You.. look like someone who is paying a lot of attention in class. Do you mind helping me with some homework? -surely you could take a little break from reading and- spend a little of your time with.. M- uh I mean tutoring me, perchance?"
It took a fair bit of Wyatt’s strength not to cringe. Tutoring a random stranger sounded like the worst way to spend his time, and the way this girl stumbled over her words, he thought tutoring her might be more of a challenge than usual. That, or she was messing with him in some weird sort of way. Was this flirting? Wyatt hadn’t much experience, but if this was that, he wouldn’t be making any attempts to get more familiar any time soon. At all.
The girl spoke up again, introducing herself. "Ah, where is my manners, my name is Pea Elena Fowl. Apologies for being too forward, but I couldn't resist coming over here and ask for a favor. You just seem to have a fascinating... aura."
Now Wyatt was near vomiting. He was sure she was trying to be attractive and to be fair, she was. She was actually quite pretty and had this odd draw to her that Wyatt couldn’t write off. She wasn’t odd-looking in a bad way, but she absolutely stood out with her skin and hair practically the same shade of snow white. She had such piercing blue eyes, it was almost a little unnerving the way she looked at him like… he couldn’t escape.
The girl– Pea looked expectant. Like she was waiting for a rehearsed answer. And for a second, as he considered her face, he didn’t have one. He was calculating his response. He wasn’t used to people flirting with him. And yes, at this point, he was sure that’s what it was although it took a comment about his “aura” for Wyatt to truly see it.
In Wyatt’s eyes, he had two options. He could, one, tell her to go away, that he was studying and would like to be left alone. This was not not the truth. Of course, he had a potions test later that he’d prefer to pass, but Wyatt always welcomed distractions. Potions was boring, and he hated that he was terrible at it; it was a perfect science he couldn’t crack. This girl, while crazy, was a welcome distraction to reading about malevolent mixture or whatever.
Option two: Wyatt could play her game. If her distraction was welcome, so was this. Of course, she introduced the game, and would have known the rules better than Wyatt did. If he chose to play his way—reel her in for a second and fake her out, or something of that nature—and she couldn’t handle it, then he was just messing with a poor girl… which could be fun? Unless she really got upset about it, which would make a whole mess. Wyatt, however, was so bored, he was willing to take the chance. Option two it is, here goes nothing. Wyatt cracked a small, endeared smile. “Sure, I’m Wyatt.”
He grew tired of the façade instantly. He decided to go in sooner than he originally planned. He cut to the chase after a moment of comfortable silence, saying, “You know, you decided to walk over and ask me to tutor you before you even saw I was reading anything important. Could've been some Lockhart mess,” he pointed out, shutting his textbook with more harshness than he intended. Potions in bold was written on the cover. “It’s quite funny that you’ve decided I will be of so much use to you that you’ve already committed yourself to sitting next to me. I could be a complete idiot, and whatever homework you’ve got could be my worst subject. But I look like someone who pays attention in class. That’s what my aura says, apparently,” he repeated her words with a bit of a venomous tone.
“Now that I mention it, it doesn’t look like you're carrying any parchment for homework, either. You’re wasting your time. You might want to find someone else to toy with, Pea. Another aura to… infect,” he said, still wearing the smile, which now had a darker, more sinister quality to it. Quickly, his smile dropped. Pea’s “forwardness” wasn’t going to be met with much grace.

date. around june | time. morning The boy is slightly startled when she sat right beside him, that he moves a tad bit away from her. A totally normal reaction for a boy to have someone as pretty as her sitting beside them out of the blue. So the Pea was not paying too much thought into it.
Although, when Pea asked to offer his service to tutor her in her "manner", there was a slightly odd expression on his face. It is an expression that she is, frankly, unfamiliar with. Would it be possible, that he is not interested in playing this game with her? nonsense. Any sensible boy should know what an honor it is to be treated like this by her, Pea's inner thought trying to convince herself that whatever weird emotion the boy exudes, it would never be a rejection. As she finishes her sentence, the boy cracked a weirdly small smile, that the girl could not decipher. A smile that somehow looks slightly familiar to another smile she often sees, and despised, from a boy that she also kind of despises.
“Sure, I’m Wyatt.” He finally introduces himself. Pea smiles back with intrigue. Perhaps he is just playing hard to get, and that certainly could be an exciting challenge for her.
“You know, you decided to walk over and ask me to tutor you before you even saw I was reading anything important. Could've been some Lockhart mess,” But his slight smile fades as he continues with a slightly bolder tone. Lockhart, guessing that he is referring to the old Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who is infamously known to take someone else's credit for his grandeur wizarding knowledge. "Well, you know that Lockhart is also known for their good looks, are you also saying that you also perhaps have his good-looking features as well?" Pea says teasingly while sort of ignoring the words he said previously. "If you are comparing yourself to Lockhart, that is." Again she smiled slyly. But then he closes his potion books quite harshly. Now that is certainly rude. But somehow it intrigued her more. It is interesting to see if she could certainly break his willpower and give in to her allure.
“It’s quite funny that you’ve decided I will be of so much use to you that you’ve already committed yourself to sitting next to me. I could be a complete idiot, and whatever homework you’ve got could be my worst subject. But I look like someone who pays attention in class. That’s what my aura says, apparently," Again Wyatt said slightly with a sharper tongue. Pea is a little baffled. This is definitely not a reaction she has been waiting for. Wyatt are certainly unlike some boys she have encountered. No matter. Refusing to give up, Pea is ruminating on her next move.
“Now that I mention it, it doesn’t look like you're carrying any parchment for homework, either. You’re wasting your time. You might want to find someone else to toy with, Pea. Another aura to… infect,” Pea frown at his last sentences, does he reading her move completely? "Toy with? ugh.. infect? How could I possibly do that? Now- am I wrong to assume that you would be good at studying? or are you saying that you are indeed not intelligent? -well, if it is true, that is a bit of a downer." Pea continue, still with a slight teasing tone maybe challenging his ego slightly. "And I do bring my books! See- it's right here," She took out some of her books from her side and several writing tools. "Hm- maybe you are the one that is a little too quick to judge too, Wyatt... erm- what is your last name?" She then smiled coyly at the last words.

Interestingly enough, Pea didn’t completely give up as Wyatt expected her to… it didn’t help with his suspicion that the girl was playing a game with him, but it did make him infinitely more curious. She commented on his reference to Gilderoy Lockhart. Since Wyatt found a copy of his ridiculous book “Magical Me” in the library, he’d been making fun of that poor guy almost non-stop. Then the girl accused him of comparing himself to the dolt.
"Well, you know that Lockhart is also known for their good looks, are you also saying that you also perhaps have his good-looking features as well?" Pea’s tone was teasing, as if she didn’t recognize the animosity in Wyatt’s previous words. Next up, something that has got to be nearly the insult of the century. "If you are comparing yourself to Lockhart, that is."
“Merlin, no. Since you know all about his ‘good looks’, you might be interested in a very glittery book around the M-section in our library. But you can’t really ask the librarian where it is, I think Lockhart put the thing there himself.” Then, Wyatt continued. He pointed out, quite curtly, that Pea didn’t know him and she could’ve sat herself down next to the dumbest student at Hogwarts. Her reaction was fascinating, her expression contorting slightly in confusion or intrigue.
Of course, Wyatt accused her of trying to mess with him. Not to be self-deprecating, but it was far more likely than someone flirting with him, especially if he reacted so poorly to their advances to begin with. It was uncommon for someone to like him, and it was even less common for them to continue liking him after a conversation. Why was the girl still here if not to make fun? Armed with all his reasons, he let Pea know he knew what was going on.
Her reaction wasn’t what he expected, exactly. She dismissed his finger-pointing with a "How could I possibly do that?" Wyatt scoffed at this, of course. People could very easily do upsetting things, he knew because he did upsetting things all the time.
"Now- am I wrong to assume that you would be good at studying? or are you saying that you are indeed not intelligent? -well, if it is true, that is a bit of a downer."
He did walk right into that one. He opened his mouth to respond to the insult but quickly remembered that he had introduced the idea that he was an idiot to begin with. He walked right into that one. Willingly, of course, to make his point, but he still opened himself up to comments on his intelligence. He tried to convince himself that he didn’t even care.
Then the girl brought out some of her books and Wyatt felt a bit like an idiot. He’d seen she had books, and he’d commented on her not having parchment for homework. While rare, it is not unthinkable that a professor would assign reading a chapter of a textbook and understanding it for homework. She also had many writing utensils, making him think that annotating a portion of one of her books was the assignment. He frowned, not exactly undefeated.
"Hm- maybe you are the one that is a little too quick to judge too, Wyatt... erm- what is your last name?"
Perhaps he’d be a little more inquisitive and give into bits and pieces of her curiosity. It didn’t seem entirely shutting her down would work a second time. He didn’t know if giving his full name was a safe choice, but he was more interested in seeing what was going on than ignoring her and walking away. That wouldn’t be any fun for either of them.
“Wyatt Starkey. I think it’s only fair you let me know your full name as well, Pea, it’s not very kind to ask more of others than you offer of yourself,” he accused, considering his next move. It had been a long time since a conversation felt like a chess game, and how he missed this. Wyatt enjoyed a good verbal spar once in a while, he thought this might be it. “Well, what homework do you have, then?”
He hoped his mixed signals would throw her off. If she did have homework, this would be a very boring time, but if she didn’t, he could call her on her bluff. This girl seemed very strange, and he was infinitely confused about her reasoning behind interrupting his very serious, not at all distracted solo study session. But he wouldn’t give up on his teasing. He wondered what he could say, and while he didn’t know how much this girl cared about intelligence, he thought it was as good as any other quality to touch on. He was testing the waters. If this hit home, he could go further knowing where to go.
“So if me being ‘unintelligent’ is a downer, does that make you a tragedy?”
