A Nice First Duel closed

It was just two days after the end of the year, meaning it was July 3rd. Guinevere was in the duelling room, looking for a student to duel with. She decided to use the method of unofficial duels to maybe sharpen up her skills for the next season.
She saw Cassie Jiang, a Ravenclaw who had a reputation of being very smart, who walked up to her and offered to duel.
"Sure! I was looking for someone to duel with me, as well. I've only been in two duels, and I've lost both of them. I'm sure you have a chance, Cassie," she said, grinning. "Fighting!"
They took their positions and started.
The duel started with two different spells. Guinevere cast Spongify, a spell she had just learned. The spell hit her wand hand, creating a jelly-effect that make it harder to cast a spell. In a moment's notice, Cassie retaliated, shooting a Flipendo, which veered off course by a lot. It hit the wall, which absorbed the impact.
"That was really close!" she encouraged, wincing at the damage her own spell had caused. "Your incantation and wand movement are both pretty good. You just have to work on the aiming a little."

Cassie told Guinevere how she wasn't afraid to challenge her. It was a pretty good mindset.
"Okay, let's start with the next round then!"
Guinevere decided that her next spell was going to be Incendio Duo. It was possibly the most difficult spell she knew... she had messed it up badly in her previous duels, and she was almost itching to attempt it again, so she did. Taking a deep breath to focus on casting the spell.
"Sorry," she said under her breath at what was about to shoot Cassie's way. She pointed her wand at Cassie. Incendio Duo!" A flash of green fire shot at Cassie. She was surprised at how well the spell had gone off. At the same time, Cassie cast the tickling charm. Perhaps she hadn't warmed up enough, and the spell hit her, causing an abrupt bout of laughing.
Her own green flames hit Cassie on the shoulder hit Cassie on the shoulder, setting her robes aflame. This round, both of them had taken hits. Guinevere was excited to see how the duel would turn out. Though of course, she was not exactly thrilled to be laughing like a maniac at nothing in particular. You get what you give, she supposed. Trying to still her wand arm, she prepared to cast her next spell.

Cassie threw off her robe, but would find the the fire still clung to her sleeve. She had to admit, though; taking off most of the fire was a smart move. With a small grin, she was satisfied knowing her own Incendio Duo was very powerfull.
"That rictumsempra was very cute," she agreed. Was Cassie mocking her?? "Tarantallegra!" Guinevere said the incantation when her giggles ceased a little bit, and put her full concentration in making the spell suceed. Her dancing feet spell shot towards Cassie, who suddenly began breakdancing. Thankfully, the spell could cover up Guinevere's real laughing. The effects were wearing off soon, anyways, so why not make good use of it? "I didn't know you could dance this well!" The dancing would continue for a lesser time than her initial Spongify, but it would last the next round, for sure.
Guinevere dodged, but just by a little bit, Cassie's Incendio hit her arm, but there was no fire. The brunt of the spell still shot behind Guinevere, but the exess heat did cause some pain. She noticed Cassie wasn't in great condition.
"You're welcome," she said. "I'm always up to duel again if you want to practice," she offered. "You improve really fast," she complimented.

All of the effects from the previous rounds had worn off, except for the crazy breakdancing that seemed to cease just a little.
"Ballet!" Guinevere commented. "That's cool. And yes, let's..." She trailed off to put more concentration into her next spell.
"Expelliarmus!" Guinevere herself was rather shocked at how good it turned out; the spell produced was straight from the textbooks, and hit Cassie squarely. It might have been the best she had ever cast. She had never actually used that spell before in a duel, so it was a pleasant surprise that it had gone so well. She couldn't say the same for some of the other first time situations she had been in.
Her wand went flying out of reach, but before that happened, Cassie had attempted a dancing -feet spell, similar to her own last round. However, it veered off, possibly because of the unstable dance she was performing. Despite it was only the fourth round, Guinevere could feel herself tiring and thought that surely Cassie would be feeling the same.
She shook out her arm, and just like the previous rounds, she would gather up her concentration to cast her next spell at the younger Ravenclaw student.

Guinevere felt slightly bad as she cast her flipendo towards her opponent. She almost wished it to go horribly and veer off into the wall, but of course wand would always do the opposite of what she wanted it to do. Yet again, Guinevere cast a perfect textbook spell, hurtling through air towards Cassie.
"Why can't I perform like this in an actual, official, duel?" Guinevere thought.
Meanwhile, Cassie had gotten on the floor and picked up her wand, which was thankfully unharmed. Guinevere would have thought that Cassie on the floor picking up her wand would have dodged her knockback jinx perfectly... but when the Ravenclaw girl stood up, she was directly in Guinevere's spell's way. Guinevere winced. Cassie would be in pretty bad condition at the end of that spell.
"Let's call this off," She said, walking over to Cassie. "Are you all right? You did pretty well just now. I think it's just that you haven't had the chance to learn that many spells and technique, but it's nothing a little practice and classes can't fix. If you're available, we can duel again next year!"
Guinevere checked her watch. It was nearing noon, which meant lunch would start soon.
"I have to go soon, though, since it's almost lunchtime. Do you want to chat a bit while we walk down?"
